I was made redundant from my plumbing-based employment last Friday, the support I received from people kinda blew me away & definitely stopped the downward spiral that happens when slightly depressed. No animosity towards my former employers, someone had to go & the bullet just happened to have my name on it. Had a chat with a fellow TCCAV Member at CC&D on the Sunday, got a phone call the Monday afternoon asking if I'd like to start on Tuesday morning. Have just completed my first week working in a wheel/tyre fitting/mechanical services workshop & have to say, am enjoying the change. Also on that same Tuesday I attended my University Graduation ceremony, so my parents have gotten to see their son graduate something. Albeit twelve years later than expected. I left my old job a little while ago now, more than ready to start something I might like. There's a strange amount of money doing even stranger things! The Gold Coast is absolutely woeful employment wise compared to Melbourne, extremely grim for job searching and most of the time wages are absurdly low. Keep knuckling down and making them dollars!
