dbr11k Posted March 11, 2012 Author Report Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) haha hey its good to be back.. stripped my new/old diff down today, give it a good scrub and painted it up, just waiting on new bearings, and i'm tossing up weather to fork out the money for a full spool or take it down to a mate who has a 300 amp mig :hmm: not 100% sure what ratio and everything the diff is but apparently it come out of an auto t18 with 120xxx k's. unwrapped all my quad light set up now all i need is some flat front panels. also forked out for a new set of rims, but that ones a surprise  Edited March 11, 2012 by dbr11k Quote
dbr11k Posted March 13, 2012 Author Report Posted March 13, 2012 Getting the welder out today  going to try and do it as neat as possible, with metal plates cut to fit around the spider gears and heat treat it afterwards. Quote
zeph_KE70 Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 Protein in the background, for extra welding skills ;) Quote
dbr11k Posted March 13, 2012 Author Report Posted March 13, 2012 haha its full of the diff bolts.. got a nice knock on my door this arvo  now i need some new shoes for them, any suggestions for really grippy, not too expensive front tyres? Quote
kickn5k Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 Khumo KU36's. They are there semi's and dirt cheap too. I put a set of yoko "C" drives on the old mans FJ'd 1600. They stick awesome for "road" rubber!! Quote
dbr11k Posted March 13, 2012 Author Report Posted March 13, 2012 do they make the kumho's in 15 but? i think ku31 are 15 inch, thats what i was actually thinkin about getting, cheers for the advice dude  Quote

My bad! The 31's are stupidly good for the money. Very comparable to the S drive yoko but heaps cheaper! Grids should look great too. Quote
dbr11k Posted March 13, 2012 Author Report Posted March 13, 2012 thanks man, ive found them on ebay through the tempe tyres place for 85 each with free delivery, thats insane value, just didn't know if they were any good, i think i'll probably go with them to start with.. is 195 to narrow for an 8 inch rim? i don't want them to have ridiculous stretch but a little bit would be nice.
