LittleRedSpirit Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Looks like they left the bonnet up for some time, its so rusted under there. Be a bit more viable if the motor was able to be rehabilitated, but I doubt that. Pretty much everything is missing, no cool headers, no carbs, at least the interior still has the timing equipment. ke70dave Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 ah rally, one of the more fun ways to sandblast all the paint off the underside of a car. looks like a cool as car, and alot of those parts would be saught after. but to rebuild it? man you woudl have to be keen. the below link has been around the internet a few times, but this is the kind of restoration they are looking at. take the time to go through the 787 photos. end up with a pretty sweet car at the end. http://www.mat.fi/n_index.php?nav=gallery_view&gallery=projecttoyotacelicaturbotc35&g=13 Quote
kickn5k Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Haha man it's actually cheap for an ex works car with genuine race history!! If it were an escort, datsun, opel or lancia of that era in that condition with history you'd be looking at 30-40k in pounds that is. Customer of ours has an ex works BDA RS1600 in restored condition and shannons believe replacement value would be $375,000!!!!! Also the guy who now owns George Furry's FJ24 powered 120y group G car has it for sale at around the $100k mark. I've seen worse revived. Quote
parrot Posted March 16, 2012 Author Report Posted March 16, 2012 Agreed, assuming it is genuine, and someone is interested, it's quite reasonable. I know someone over there who may well be interested and has the resources to restore it. Will be interesting to see what happens to it. Quote
Redwarf Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 Cheap thrills. Seriously, AU$7.5K for a car with decent heritage. Quote
corollaart Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 Agree with kicken5k .when working in a wreaking yard many many years ago monaros who wants them heaps of shits crush emm. Remember there not going to make them again. Quote
snot35 Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 Someone will pay it. It looks like a Halda in there, which would make up a reasonable chunk of the price by itself. Quote
tojo2 Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 yea, like the te7 hardtops . Never seen one live as we didnt get them Will take a decent budget to restore that thing . Spotted this while browsing http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C268000  Quote
parrot Posted March 16, 2012 Author Report Posted March 16, 2012 Not really relevant, but doesn't appear to be a genuine levin. Did you see those works car photo's in this thread? Complete with 151E's http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/58880-toyota-team-europe/page__pid__590847#entry590847 Incredible. Quote
