altezzaclub Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 Not adjustable?? I put ours on the rallycar each time and wind on some force outwards to pre-load the struts out. Quote
supra2 Posted April 30, 2013 Author Report Posted April 30, 2013 Ive never had any trouble with a fixed strut brace. The first round of the 2wd rally master is the Orange rally on the 25th May. Ill be entering the Celica. Will we be seeing the ra40 there? Quote
altezzaclub Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 Hell yes! Its the anniverary of the first time I saw the car and I'm looking forward to seeing how much its improved since then! Steve was running an average of 75% of the fastest stage times then, he's up to over 90% now. The crew will be staying at my place, make sure you look us up! Quote
supra2 Posted May 1, 2013 Author Report Posted May 1, 2013 We will see you there. Bit more on the new trans tunnel. Quote
supra2 Posted May 4, 2013 Author Report Posted May 4, 2013 Found a spot for the Tilton res. Keeps the fluid away from the exhaust and allows easy fitting of brake hoses to the pedal box. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted May 5, 2013 Report Posted May 5, 2013 Can you mount that any higher? :no2: Oh i need to slap you!!! Mount everything as low as possible, starting now, by the time you finish there'll be nothing you need to change. Quote
altezzaclub Posted May 5, 2013 Report Posted May 5, 2013 Either of you guys made a remote booster setup on the other side of the car?? So the pedal rotates a tube that works the master cyl/booster on the pass side. Jusr something I'm thinking about... I like that reservoir idea, maybe not low but it gives some space. Quote
supra2 Posted May 7, 2013 Author Report Posted May 7, 2013 Ive seen remote boosters in older cars without mechanical linkage. If its for a rally car, it still is a fair weight to carry. The main reason for mounting the reservoir there, it allows the feed hoses to the pedal box to drop straight down. Mounting it lower in the engine bay creates clearance issues with the exhaust manifold, roll cage, throttle cable and steering coloum and the 3 hoses have to go through two 90 degree bends in the fire wall. There is a small weight issue but it seemed to be the lesser of two evils. Toyota had there reservoirs mounted in the same place in the group b car. Quote
supra2 Posted May 12, 2013 Author Report Posted May 12, 2013 More progress on the new trans tunnel. Quote
chithead Posted May 12, 2013 Report Posted May 12, 2013 Amazing how you are incorporating all the little details in very creative ways. Quote
lzabi1 Posted May 12, 2013 Report Posted May 12, 2013 If i'm not mistaken is that the World Class T-56? any reason to go WC instead of normal except for better shifting? Normal T-56 is practically indestructible. Quote
supra2 Posted May 13, 2013 Author Report Posted May 13, 2013 Thanks Daniel. Hi Lucas. The main reason I went for the Magnum over a standard t56 was the option of 3 different gear lever positions. It has a great close ratio gear set and super fast gear changes. Trany tunnel is done. Quote
supra2 Posted May 14, 2013 Author Report Posted May 14, 2013 A couple of finishing touches and its on some wheels, ready to go to the sand blasters. Quote
supra2 Posted May 19, 2013 Author Report Posted May 19, 2013 Thanks Stephen. Got it back from the sand blaster who assured me he could strip it without warping any panels. He let one of the new guys have a go. The roof now looks like someone has bounced a basket ball on it. Sprayed a fish oil type product in all the had to get to places. Quote
