ke70dave
Whats wrong with the oil you currently use? Any brand will do, so long as there is enough in the sump, its close to the recomended weightings, and is changed every 5000-10000kms. I used to buy penrite HPR 30 when it was on special. It's too expensive when its not on special.
parrot
Amen to HPR 30. Just use a name brand 20W
nos399
i think better enging oil brand 1.mobil-1 2.sunoco 3.motul
parrot
It's an old engine, lots of kms, use old style oil. If you use some whizz bang low viscosity oil it will blow up.
kickn5k
Isn't Penrite and AUS made/only brand? If you have access to this oil, HPR GAS is what you need. Being the 4k has a "flat tappet cam"(hydro or solid) I'd be leaning towards a mineral based oil over a synthetic based oil. Most of the synthetic based oils like mobil1 are way too thin and lack the lead content to adequately lubricate the camshaft and lifters. Taz_Rx
By your grammar i'm guessing you're not an aussie, but if you are and for other members I've found the cheapest place to get oil (and some other things) is super cheap auto! The last bottle of castrol stuff I bought was cheaper retail than my local bursons wholesale price. Buying power!
rian
^Word! I work for Supercheap Auto, often when oil is on sale at Supercheap we are selling it for less than we pay for it, so keep an eye on the sales catalogues. Trev
HPR 10 Gas or equivalent. Although looking at your avatar and the thread you made I am going to assume you are a troll.

coln72
Used to run BP Corse Plus back in the day. Later went to Castrol RX Super as I got it for nothing :)
