  1. reality is most of the products on the market work well, if your pedantic then just run a more concentrated solution.
  2. I have found distilled water doesnt do a good job of avoiding corrosion, just use an inhibbitier or however you spell it, so I tottaly agree with the above comment
  3. also many places have a minimum quantity before they actually give you any cash
  4. I suggest buying a front cut/ swapping everything and seeing if you like that. From there it might be worth waiting for a 20V package with an ecu, buying it and selling the engine again. Otherwise see what the worthwhile tuners in your area use.
  5. yeah great, with an aftermarket ecu exceptional, it's like a different engine
  6. ah bummer, I could of taken you for a spin in something with a 20V
  7. sure thing. Good idea, take your time, try some cars and do your research into it. Your not in Victoria by any chance are you?
  8. found some info: http://www.4age.net/tech/20v/index.htm
  9. well if you go to a self serve wrecker you could grab the steering rack, pump and all the hoses to suit. You can call up center rd wfreckers to get a quote. Which suberb are you in?
  10. it wouldnt be that hard to do though? you just swap everything over and the wiring should be pretty straight-forward. Considering the price of getting the existing engine out and getting it rebuilt the front cut can be quite affordable for a good power gain.
  11. I find that stuff doesn't get cold more than WD-40
  12. well it's not that simple.. Beams engine info in this thread: http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/s...to-AE-KE-thread
  13. wow nice paint, is that Candy green? now engines, how much can you do yourself? and are you a purist or can you settle with any make of engine other than Toyota?
  14. I think the official term is "locking clamps/pliers" but everyone here too calls them Vise grips too
  15. where can you get these cams?
  16. really? I stand corrected
  17. wouldn't be a 4age unless it's an import or has had a conversion. The ae93 models had those.
  18. well easy, all off the shefl extractors even the japanese ones have medicore to shocking collectors, then there's the less than ideal diameters, angles of pipes off the heads and so on.
  19. you see thats why I asked a question you didnt ask about in the first place. There are a multiple of reports of people losing power when changing pipes, the stock manifold isn't bad at all.
  20. are you sure it's a good idea to even change the stock pipes?
  21. well I disagree, sure if you pay a mechanic it's going to sting you bad regardless but if you do things yourself then it shouldn't. Twice in the last few months I have seen RWD converted 20V engines with full aftermarket ecu's and looms with a tune for sale as a package for $2000, I think one even had trumpets. All you would need is some intake socks, install the wiring loom and get the exhaust made. Thats it! Play your cars right and it can be really cheap. If you pay a mechanic to do all your work then I suggest a different model car altogether unless your really into it.
  22. apparently they sit the engine in too far backwards
  23. hahaha fail! I just noticed it a moment before I read your post.
  24. welcome to rollaclub, now how about some more pics
  25. all 16V 4age gaskets have the same shape and all 20V/4afe/7afe gaskets have the same shape. To top it off I have a gasket for sale that I beleive is for a 16V and it's a 0.8mm trd item withing driving range of your house.
