  1. ...electrical tape...
  2. I got a momo prototipo steering wheel today and i'm using an autotechnica boss kit to suit my ke20. The horn button which came with the steering wheel won't "grab" the actual wheel. i searched the net and found that you need a special part which only comes with momo boss kits/hub adapters. Anyone had this problem? I'm sure i can do some sort of fix, but since its a nice new wheel i don't really want to have to glue some sort of "reducer" into the middle of the wheel to fit the horn.
  3. ^^ go the crane, i found it easy and i'd never put a motor in before. i put the gearbox onto the motor first and then dropped em in.

    Hi

he may get more "bang for buck" with an engine conversion in the long run.
  5. 4afe is the "economy" motor.
  6. Generalisation: girls usually get unfair treatment from mechanics. My girlfriend asked her mechanic why her car was using more fuel than normal. He was rude enough to say its because the price of petrol has gone up...wtf?
  7. i love the smell of cheese oozing from the tv when McLeods is on...
  8. yep, i just rego'd a '74 ke20 in NSW without a booster. I'm putting ke55 brakes and a vh44 booster in anyhow.
  9. yep, tv rots yo brain BUT... McLeod's Daughters for the win!
  10. just old but not Oldschool... :lolcry:
  11. now remember, 90kmh max!
  12. stock willow green '74 ke20, in northern sydney area. now with recaros, remote-start alarm, surge tank, boot battery, new suspension bushes stuff i've got to go in: 4age, T50, custom swaybar, custom tailshaft, ke55 diff conversion, stereo gear...
  13. i have the bottom one on my '72 ke20, the one with early taillights. not sure what is deluxe about it though. my '67 mini deluxe was called that because it had wind up windows not sliding windows. it had no heater either.
  14. what type of alarm? mine was <$250 is a two way alarm (the remote button communicates with car) with remote start/ turbo timer in-built, and is upgradeable to GSM module. Mind you it was from taiwan and the instructions were really badly translated. great alarm though.

  17. time for $$$ :lolcry: don't use test lights on cars with electronics! use a multimeter.
  18. hey bender, got any pics of your ca18det / ke20?
  19. use the multimeter on the wires of the factory power locks to see if its a switched by active or switched to ground
  20. it would be nice to be able to pull out into traffic and hit the speed limit without changing gears. my old 318i would get nearly 55kmh if i took it all the way but the 323i gets 60kmh out of first quite easily. I think they were both 3.6:1 ratios with 5 speeds.
  21. cheers, guess that means i have an auto diff. its going with a t-50 but i guess i'm hoping 1st gear won't be too short. would love 60kmh out of 1st ideally.
  22. i have a ke55 diff ready to go in my ke20. its a 4.3. What other ratios do KE55's have? Its a Borgy
  23. nc = normally closed no = normally open com = common i take it you don't own a multimeter?
  24. i used steel mate locks on my '20, but didn't use the module that came with it, i wired them straight to the alarm output. are you using the standard power locks? is the standard power lock by remote? its probably asking whether its switched active or triggered by switching the ground.
  25. custom made. my mate has made three sets now and I wish we had made some more, couldn't find any ae71s at pick'n payless last time i went out. surge tank and pumps now in green car. Put battery box in boot and run power AND ground wire through to the front. also ran in 2 four core flex from front to back, for the fuel pump wires and so i have some spares for maybe an amp.
