that "bell" in my ke20 came of with two firm strikes with a hammer - and absolutely no mess at all. Whats more, its intact and could easily be put back on if i ever need to go back...which i won't.
Looking good though!
yeah, it is bloody slanted. I massaged my transmission tunnel a fair bit but yes, i could lift the rear of the gearbox to level it out.
**they are home made mounts copied from mounts proven to work in two other cars **
The whole crank, gearbox and tailshaft are parallel and the sump clears the swaybar (with a bit of assistance from mr. hammer)
When its all driving nicely i may look at getting my mounts modified to allow it to sit 40mm lower but then the tailshaft will slant more at the uni-joint.
I've decided that with the wedding just around the corner in october to put the car in to have a haltech e6x installed. Its booked in for late next week, and will get a base tune so I can limp it around to the muffler shop and wheel shop. Once there is some legal rubber on the rear end and my brake booster is installed i can get it re-tuned.
I made the mounts for the radiator today
You can see the clearance behind the motor for the coolant sensor block, and the clearance behind the inlet manifold. The brake master cylinder is from a trailer and the clutch master is from a pajero.
can you buy a 4age, gearbox, extractors, radiator, fuel pump, surge tank, and get your diff "professionally" welded (whatever that means) for $1500? And then put it all in with custom engine mounts yourself?
no e30 m3's either. at least they had 2002 turbos and Cosworth 190e's in GT4.
If any corolla will make it into the game besides an ae86 it would be the te27
first letter is the motor
second letter and number is the series shape
ke 20 uses a k-motor
te 27 uses a t-motor
So my car will technically be an "ae20" using an a-motor
the sort of car it is will determine what sort of thief will steal it.
Pros will bring a tow truck and a gun, but are usually after better cars than corollas.
People who target corollas are most likely to be people after an easy car to steal or junkies after quick loot.
I put my alarm in myself, its very easy and you can buy battery backup sirens from Jaycar.
its been known to cost as little as a 6 pack of beer to $300. don't forget to get the throttle cable bracket changed as well.
Is yours a small port gze? i've seen original big port RWD plenums on ebay.
