The mrs and bub to be got home this arvo, car broke down from the water crossings on the way but a mechanic sorted it halfway home. Cheers for asking. And your right trev, bloody royals! JP
-
Hmmmmmm....... Bugger...... Not the attitude to have!
-
We will see how we go... Unfortunantly I'm not expecting it to happen, but I am still busting my arse on it so it might. As for blown k vs gze, if you can go gze you might as well, unless your a nutter like me and like your k motors!
-
No paper work as yet, I hadn't expected to get this far and have it ready so I hadn't got the form. Will have to hit up Vic roads and go from there. Committee meeting sounds like a plan, might have to drop in to get it sorted. JP
-
This is already last minute isn't it?! I only have a week and a half to get it sorted!
-
Will be calling after work to hopefully arange something for this weekend... I don't want to wast his time either as I'm not sure he will pass it. It's been through a rwc inspection and came up with the rust and a few other bits but I have fixed most of it. Will see what he says. JP

Jeez, you guys up north copped it alot harder than we are now, mind you it's pretty amazing how much of Vic has been affected, I know most of the towns under water as I used to go through them to Mildy and it's hard to imagine them with that much water! It's bloody stupid, getting burnt from the hot sun whilst your feet are getting wet! How are things getting on up north? Trev, hopefully whoever it was was only complaining about the lack of Vic coverage compared to qld? It has gone under the radar up until a few days ago round here so maybe that was it? Well, my mrs is coming back tomorrow, she has family in a 4x4 that are traveling back with her so hopefully she doesn't have trouble. Bloody excel hasn't liked the water crossings either as now it's playing up on her. Bloody cars! Time for a diesel! JP

Ahh I see, cheers for that Matt. I will see who I can get hold of. I still have some little things to finish off as well as paint the guard and boot, I'm not sure if they would appreciate primered panels?! As for a video, shouldn't be a problem, it's not much to see/hear running at the moment. Sounds like a stocker! JP

You've got a week and a half nackers! Get into it! Are you bringing someone on the trip still? Jarrad

Shutup Stu... Just because your blower sounds awesome and I sounds like innate a stock 5k! :P Send ms those pics, I will be fitting it next week. And opening up the main jets as well. Philbey, I have the part number written down I just have to find it! They are from dfunkts ke20, he may have it written in there. They just screwed straight into the strut, no need for any of the original gear that you have to use with other inserts. And that's a negative on the captive springs, I have 3" left of compression and 3 foot of droop! I went to see my spring maker today, he thinks my springs will be fine as he can't make anything that will stay captive and give a decent ride of hieght. Stock ke20 on springs gave it a monster truck stance as did the 70 ones, lowered or not. My only solution seems to be coilovers :) Hendo, I'm about to call Cliff and see what he says. Hopefully I will be right and have reg sorted next week. Hopefully.

2011 Great Ocean Road Trip Discussion Thread
TheNOBBLER replied to TheNOBBLER's topic in VIC / Melbourne
Take a look at the list in the info thread, updated it as promised. I actually have two more people to add for a total of 34 people with 6 from SA and hopefully Teddy didn't float away so he will be down from QLD. JP -
Hmm... I might have to track one down to splice into the front of my ke10...

Well the marsh survived, the river rose just under 4m behind my place and I'm in the worst spot for flooding so we were lucky, another meter or so and we would have been in trouble. My other half is currently stuck in Robinvale, an hour our side of Mildura, roads have washed away and others are still flooded and getting worse so until today there hasn't been a highway open to get her back home, hopefully she will make it tomorrow! It's only going to get worse before it gets better too, water is coming down from qld viathe darling river and flood water is also making it's way along the Murray, can't see mildura doing to well with that let alone my home town of wentworth just past mildura, that's where the Murray and darling rivers meet! 2011 Great Ocean Road Trip. Entry List Up!
TheNOBBLER replied to TheNOBBLER's topic in VIC / Melbourne
I'm onto it, had a crazy week getting the car going! will update to the best of our knowledge now. JP Oh, this is the result of me busting my ass for my holidays and not updating like I should have, sorry all for the lack of contact etc this year, flat out renovating the house as well! At least its looking like I will have the blown 10 on the trip! -
Well after getting all excited about the first trip up and down the street I got stuck into getting it closer to club reg. I have rebuilt most of the front end including converting to ke26 top spring seats and shortened ke70 front springs with adjustable Koni reds doing the dampening. It's stiff but not to bad at all. I still have a pedders sway bar kit to fit (thanks Stu!) as well. Rear shocks are just munroe gas for now, it's too soft so i need to add a leaf to the pack and have them reset a little lower, just about to lip my rear guards now as they are hungry buggers eating my tyres up :) I have plenty of bigs to iron out as yet but I am working through them, the big jobs are done though so I'm feeling pretty good although I only have two weeks left until the great ocean road trip so it needs to be driven to iron out the rest of the bugs and continue tuning to get it right. I have been working on it from 7am til 2-3am most days as I had alot to do, I'm back at work tomorrow so that's the end of that! Not to mention I'm shagged! I still have some rust to touch up, the whole far will be getting painted later in the year so it's just a neaten up for now, re paint the bottom of the car black, it will all be white after the Respray and I need to paint the primered guard and boot and re assemble. Just a little bit to do! Still needs a wheel alignment and I need to figure out my peddle travel issue, might have to swap masters to another one I have that I know works well. Enough dribble, here are some pics. JP
-
Gotta love the early lenses, the late ones look so massive! Cars really coming along, I went theother way with mine by sorting the driveline etc out first but this one makes me want to paint mine asap! JP
-
The cutoff has well and truly passed but we had a little room left, and he gave ms the time of day to call. Can't say no to that! JP
-
Traction! I need traction! Took her for the first drive today, jeez, it's not properly tuned yet bit running pretty well and managed to light up first and second and pull harder than a 16 year old school boy in 3rd with 6psi and 20deg timing. Yeeeeeeehaaaaaaaar!
-
How big a lip do you want nackers? I cut down an mx83 cressie lip for my twincam, looked neat and was very easy. Really finished the front end off. JP
-
Well it seems another car will be making the trip from SA. Alan (?) and his son from pedders. Just waiting on an email from him for details etc. Just in case he wrote it down wrong shoot one to [email protected] for the entry form etc. JP
-
Hmmm... Might have to turn the news on! Hopefully we don't get to much morein the marsh. JP
-
Hadn't thought of that, three blown 1x rollas! His is pretty enough to make up for ours Stu!
-
Pm dfunkt about coupe doors, he's about to offload a good cond drivers. JP

Hmmm... Cheers! Would almost be true if I had the tailshaft in! Have been re-jetting the carb so it actually runs nice now! Idles like a stock 5k... A blown stock 5k :) JP -
