  1. You might pick up low to midrange a bit due to the increased air speed with the smaller ports and inlet manifold runners, will be good to see how you go.
  2. So very easily done!
  3. The paints only getting thin because you polish it so much Matty! Cars looking great mate, must be proud! JP
  4. Someone needs to merge a couple of threads! :) Nice work on the car so far, should scoot along well. I hope you have done something for ignition control? That could be a major reason why your having trouble on boost. To much timing will kill it! JP
  5. Ahh you are right, there is a Vic wreckers thead that has regular updates on these things. They have pretty much listed them all through it but not all together.
  6. Unlucky... Similar thing happened to me years back... Now I just let people hit me :hmm:
  7. Not quite Matt, Harveys got a great looking sprinter but it's not tiktak, that's another member on this forum. Both nice sprinters and were both at the first arthurs seat meet point. Spotted: yellow ke30 2 door on Ballarat td, turbo with screamer pipe
  8. Philbey... Legend! Thankyou very much for the write up. This thread should now be added to the FAQ/wiki section! JP
  9. Cheers for clearing up the question about what cam fits where Cameron, I didn't realise they had different lengths. So we now know how easy a 5k solid cam setup can be done, how about setting up preload for a hydro setup? Cheers, JP
  10. Nope, they usually fall from 3k engines when turned upside down without the head on :P Seriously though they are around but they are getting harder to find. Felix, are you running a stock type 5k with a 5k head? Or 3/4k head? And by gutting them you just removed the circlip and emptied the spring etc out of the lifters? How is the pushrod held in or sitting in the lifter? I know you have probably said it all before but this is turning into a thread for the FAQ section! Cheers, JP
  11. The cam profile for a solid lifter vs hydro lifter setup is different, I should get my head around it properly before posting but I'm pretty sure the ramp rates are different among other things. Your right though evan, you can put a k cam in and k engine (not sure about 7k's though).
  12. He's an NA man who drives a turbo car daily ... :hmm: Good stuff matt, looking forward to seeing it again!
  13. Well if all the cool kids are doing it I might have to as well :P What's involved in setting up a reground or new hydro cam in a k motor? I hadn't actually heard of reground hydro cams until col mentioned it. I had always thought that was a solid only deal. I'm assuming people know what's needed to setup a solid cam in a k (or any engine really) so to help sway others towards a hydraulic cam setup how's the setup differ? If it's as easy as everyone says I will just go hydro myself in my blown 5k. Hope I'm not thread stealing! JP
  14. Ok... Just allowed... I think! Remember, for sales in for sales, Vic in Vic etc etc. Will leave this one alone as it's a link, don't be suprised if it goes missing. Cheers for the parts update either way! JP
  15. Motor, Thankyou for the invite, from what I have seen of other cruises from the rotor stable this is a must attend event! I am upset however... My rollas not on the road! And I can't make it... But there's always next time! To other Rollaclub member, have a ball, looks to be a great cruise that will have you wanting more! And be good little boys and girls ok? :P JP
  16. 30 backing plates should fit, although you will need to drill and tap the bolt holes in your 1x struts to the bigger size. I'm running what I had for my brake upgrade, that is: Ke10 struts and bearings, Ke26 hubs, Ke35 backin plates, Ke55-70 disks, Ke55-70 calipers with rear commodore pads The cars not on the road as yet but kickn5k runs around with the same setup and its pulling his 100kw ke11 up rather well so I should be fine with a little less grunt than him! I should note I will be running a galant duel circuit master cylinder as well, I will most likely run a stock one for starters (running out of time to modify things!) but th galant setup bolts on after a little file work and you need to extend the brake pedal pushrod. Cheers, JP
  17. Pisser Trev! It's worth at least a slab though yeah? But only light... Ted, it is time. This car has to be at the 2012 GOR Trip, that gives you a year to get it on the road and iron out the bugs! Jarrad
  18. Your right matt, was even before my time! I remember talking to rollagirl about that!'
  19. Very nice 2 series! These things are contagious... Once you've had an early Volvo you kind of get stuck with them! A good friend of mine has a low 13 second 7 series wagon, they hum along very nicely. I have to say, your making a great amount of power out of that Volvo! Is it a bored out B series block to get 2.5l? JP
  20. If you want to see how far Vic events have come you need to hit the GOR trip in earnest! Most likely won't be making these nights, a little far for me! JP
  21. Hmm... I've seen one of those before. :D
  22. Details will be coming shortly! Is the sa crew planning on heading over Friday? We will be doing the ocean rd backwards next year, from warnambool to Apollo bay then a cruise past Lorne etc Sunday. What are you lot thinking?
  23. Well there you go... I just stumbled accross this one. Will have a look! JP
  24. And looking at it I would say it's Ravens ol beast! Couldn't believe it when I saw it! Might not be though, last time I saw it it wouldn't make it 5km let alone to the lake! JP
