Was thinking about this the other day... I se about 5 rolla's per day on my trip to work and back. Not always the same ones but I still see them! I thought i'd list some of the "hot" ones that I see, Red AE82 twincam rolla with 17's, cannon (shudders), lower sill kit and DARK tint! in the sunshine area. White rolla as above bit with a BIG red toyota sign accross the winscreen and the twincam 1600 signs on the doors are red as well... different. A really neat ke30 2 door sedan, orange and completely stock with a really hot p plater chick driving it... not sure what to look at, the car or... deer park area. A ke55 coupe, like rolla boys one... just as low! Looks great on BIG rims, car looks very stock til you look at the front, thats when you see the front mount cooler! Not sure what its running but if I see it again I will get some pics! Anyway, thats some that I see around the traps! Jarrad

Will be plenty more events on the go, don't worry about that!

Looks good mate, can't wait to see the fast progress of this one! Shame your leaving vic already... I was hoping to meet another rc member! Ahh well... will have to wait til the next Ocean rd run!

Haha, yes, its true, it runs on 91 no problems! I never used to run the std engine on anything but 91! I was a pov 1st year apprentice! Never had a problem. Infact, I had the car on the dyno with 91 in the tank and the timing set to 12 deg, so aprox 20 once the ecu does its stuff... no detonation and no problems... made 70.5kw atw. Mind you, i bumped up the timing and I'm running 98 now... goes really hard! Anyway, I don't think you would have any probs on 91 in a stocker, but as webers said, maybe go something better in the warmer months. Also, check the drive in night thread to see if you can make it, let us know if you can. Jarrad.

Haha, GIO suck! Well, there not bad but they screwed me over! It was going to cost me approx $800 for fire and theft in my twinky, ontop of that they wanted me to pay $1550 excess! And my cars only valued at $1750! Not worth it! Ok, some news re drive in night! Webbers, sorry mate, but the 24th it is! I went over there last night and booked us in after having a nice chat with the Manager. It turns out that atm we can't get movies of our choice... but we can sort that out for another time, instead we get whatever they have playing! Believe it or not, the new teenage mutant ninja turtle movie is opening that week! can't belive there doing another one! Anyway, heres the details that we have to far. Date: 24th march Meet time: 7:30pm Meet point: Macca's, cnr St.george and Bell street's Price: $20 per car... Doesnt mater if theres one or 10 people in it, still $20 per car load! Also, we can stay on and watch a second movie for free if we like, its all part of the deal! So bring anyone you like... I may even post up in Toymods etc if you all think its a good idea? Thats pretty much it for now... we need to set a meet point, I was thinking something like macca's on the corner of st.gearges and bell street? Kinda central to everyone and not too far from the movies. Throw up some ideas! Jarrad

TheNOBBLER replied to TheNOBBLER's topic in VIC / Melbourne
Haha, we were chasing that ss crewman... stuck to him like glue! He ended up pulling over to let us pass after a while! Again Shane, great pics! -
Probably not as its a sedan... but we can soon fix that!
-
Haha, cheers mate... I didnt really get a choice on which type of wheels I bought, I needed new tyres and these came up with 4 new ones already fitted! There from the wreckers around the corner from work (they told me I had to buy them!) so I picked them up monday for less than the cost of 4 new tyres! I thought you'd be jealous webbers! There only 15's! But they look bigger than that, the best part is they fit under my guards with no scraping (unless I load it up like the gor cruise ;p ). They Toyota logo took me about 30mins or so... something like that. Its a pearl effect paint, looks great on any colour too. I like the fact you can't see it on some angles! Anyway, until I'm bored again thats my update!

Sweeeet photos mate! Got some rippers! There are plenty more out there... just have to get them up! The driving pics are great and you even got me being naughty... hehe Cheers again for coming, can't wait til the next one! -
Very true trev. Beerhead, your right, the vls did run that auto. I was talking about the ones that get converted... I have seen plenty of them done. They don't sap much power and when you throw money at them the hold on really well... much better power wise than the th350 conversion.
-
Well, continuing the "got bored" theme! I was REALLY bored with my wheels... so I got new ones :) The sit nicely... And after getting bored with my bonnet ( I used to have a black one) I thought I would "go crazy" with the pearl spray... heres the result.

I agree, welcome Kasper! Hope we can be of service he in the vic section and the rest or Rollaclub. As Poz mentioned, there are a few '82's in Vic... mine included! So give us a hoy if you need a hand. Anyway, enjoy your time here and if your nice we will be nice back! Jarrad

Hmmm, forgot about cotm this year! Might have to see if I can work it into the diary! Ok, so its looking like the 24th is it... as I said above, will be getting hold of the drive in this week to see what they can do! Jarrad P.S. I love cuddles (in ref to Ravens comment above!)
-
hahaha, I will accept more comments but this one seems to have topped the list! lol! Cheers guys, I'm stoked with the wheels, completely changed the car... the tyres have tread and all! :) Just went to have a chat to a bloke that used to race '82's, nice bloke, he had 4 of them til last year... now he has one left (the big banger) and has just sold it as well! Anyway, as I want to race mine in the future I was after some advice and he came up with the goods! SO now I have a new list of parts to get! Including: AE93 front Disks SV21 camry Calipers (bolt on :yak: ) Rear sway bar (always been on the list) Front caster kit (as above) AE93 4afc gearbox (far better ratios from his experience, even for the street) AE101 shifter and linkages (he ran them in all his cars, cheap short shifter) Well, the list has grown! But I will be hacking away at it over the next 12months... can't wait! Jarrad

Thats the one Cam, good clean wreckers too. I travel over to the other pick a part a bit but there seems to be more in the campbelfield one. They turn over around 60 cars a week from what they tell me!
-
I guess its to help seperate the conversion questions from everything else in the mech sections. I see your point though...
-
Looking really good mate, glad to see its all payed off! can't wait to se it in the flesh now!

SOunds good mate, noone else is posting... whats the go?
-
Well, finally have my Dyno figures! Hit the rollers today with a heap of people from toymods... nice and cheap at $45 a piece with a bbq, so no complaints there! Well, I managed 70.5kw atw which isnt to bad, not as much as I would have liked but you get that! Now its time for some big cams and aftermarket ecu! Also, went to the Ballarat swap this weekend, had a ball and drank lots! The good news is I sold my 16's (they didnt fit anymore) and have bought some 15's to run... a pic below... will post another when there on the car. Going to look much better than the stockies! J.
-
Too much hassle for them sadly. As MRMOPARMAN said, here in Melb Sims sell some cars but not many... alot of them end up getting wrecked anyway. hehe, at least then we get the good bits before they crush em!
-
Alrighty then! its time for me to get my ass into gear! Sorry to all that have been waiting or an update, I have been flat out and havent had a chance to get hold of the guys at the drive in. I am away this weekend at the Ballarat Swap Meet so once I am back I will get hold of them and get some concrete details on what they can or cannot do for us. Its looking like the date will be the 17th or the 24th (both Saturdays) of March to give us time to get everything happening and get some numbers as well! What does everyone think? The 17th or the 24th? Either way, I will get hold of them monday or tues and sort something out. Will post up once I'm done! Jarrad

Ok, have some news re-video. Nick has had a kind word to me reguarding the content of the vid and as such I have removed it from public viewing for the time being. I have not been told to do this but I felt it needed to be done. I must admit, the street racing part was not a sensible thing. Even though it was fun at the time it shouldnt be looked back on in a video as something that is acceptable. That also includes some camera whore action! During my haste to get something up for everyone to view I didnt even think of the problems this might cause for the people involved and Rollaclub itself. So I send my appologies to Nick (in no way is he a bad guy here, just doing the right thing and looking out for everyone and the site) and to all of the people from the run. If I put anything up after this I will be making sure I'm thinking straight beforehand and keep it "clean" as such. Anyway, we will have to get some of Teddy's photos up once he gets them! he took a stack! can't wait to see the ones of our saturday night entertainment! Sorry again , Jarrad -
Victorian Motor Racing Championship Round 1
TheNOBBLER replied to TheNOBBLER's topic in Automotive Discussion
They have a stack of events in Vic over the year, will post up the dates tomorrow. Sadly, this was the only day/night event listed but we will see what happens. The Vic guys and gals will most likely have another get together/bbq for a race day in the near future... Yeah, that VN was pretty mad, sounded great! But my favourite car in that league was the 80's Honda prelude running a spaceframe chassis and a rather large V8rwd setup!
