  1. I will cook you breaky and supply some V's... lol
  2. Maps of the Park and entry from the Freeway.
  3. Well, its time to post some dates and see what happens! Date: Sunday September 17th Location: Brimbank Park/Calder Park Raceway Time: 10:30am onwards Cost: $20 entry to Calder Park The plan is to meet up at Brimbank Park In Keilor East (Melway Ref: 15, A10) at 10:30am for a BBQ and Bullshit session and then head to Calder park around 12pm for some Racing action. Brimbank Park is located off Keilor Park drive which is accesed via the Western Ring Rd, this should make it easy for everyone to get to. We can meet up in Carpark B of Brimbank Park, it is easy to find, just folow the signs once you enter tha Park. I will supply a dozen eggs and some bacon, bread and oil, if someone could donate some drinks, snags etc that would be great. Once we have finished at the Park we will head to Calder for the Aus Motor Racing Championships, we can get there Via the freeway or via the Old Calder hwy for a bit more fun, that can be decided on the day. I will be at the park from 10am, so keep an eye out for a white '82 Twinky with SDI plates, or call me on 0400843198 if you get lost! Pm, email of call either myself or Muller if you need naymore details, or post up and you will get a reply. This should be a great day of racing and a good chance fro felow RollaClub members to have a chat and get to know each other. See you there, Jarrad
  4. Competitor $90, Spectators $20. Gates open at 5, on track at 6. Sorry Calvin, I don't have any footage, I didnt make the last event. I will probably be heading to the next one on the 27th, should be worth a look. If anyone would like to join me we can organise something. Just a shame its on a Wednesday!
  5. Slicks baby, thats what there for!
  6. Welcome aboard Jay, Thats a pretty clean looking Rolla, a nice start indeed. J.
  7. I have been looking around for a BBQ location. Probably the best place to have it would be Brimbank Park, its easy to find as you can get to it via freeways and its not too far from Calder, yet far enough to make a cruise. Brimbank park is just off Keilor Park Drive in Keilor, will get a map up soon... Either that or somewhere along bell street so we are more central... But finding a good park might be a hassle, anyone know of a better park etc? Any other ideas? Muller? Also, I was thinking that if we want to get the most out of the day we should probably have a BBQ brunch, around 10am or so, thatway we can see more of the racing as we would only have a couple of hours to watch if we have a BBQ lunch. Just somthing to think about anyway! Should this be moved to its own thread now?? Colin, theres always next time! Enjoy the bub! J.
  8. You might have heard all ready, but Drifting is back on at Calder park :D Its on a wednesday night as it used to be, according to the Calder Park website the dates are: August 30 September 27 October 25 All of the drift practice nights start at 5pm and run till 10:30pm, so it should be a good night. http://www.motorsport.com.au/drift.htm
  9. Calder Park Sat/Sun, Sep 16-17 Round 5 - Victorian Motor Racing Championship Calder Park Raceway Saturday is the practice day and Sunday the racing. Sorry, shoulda mentioned that before...
  10. But the problem is its a friday night, the Calder are pretty good but some of us have to work saturday morning. I liked the idea of the Victorian Motor Racing Championship at Calder Park, its not that far away and there should be plenty of action for everyone to watch. This was lifted from there website... CATEGORIES HQ HOLDEN - for vehicles complying with the HQ Holden Regulations, OVER 2 LITRE SPORTS SEDANS - for vehicles complying with the Sports Sedan Regulations, UNDER 2 LITRE SPORTS SEDANS - for vehicles complying with the Sports Sedans Regulations IMPROVED PRODUCTION - for vehicles complying with Improved Production Regulations, OPEN WHEELERS - for vehicles complying with Formula Vee, Formula Ford, Formula Libre regulations PORSCHE 944 - for vehicles complying with the Porsche Car regulations, SALOON CARS - for vehicles complying with the Saloon Car Regulations. BMW E30 - for vehicles complying with the BMW E30 Regulations AUSCAR- for vehicles complying with Auscar Regulations SPROTS CARS- for vehicles complying with Sports Car regulation So as you can see there is something for everyone. Gates open at 9am and it runs til 4:30pm, entry fee is $20, the same as the friday night drags. We could meet up for a BBQ late morning and then cruise to the track, Any takers?
  11. I was thinking along the lines of a ke55 coupe with a 1uzfe in it, I would settle for a rover/leyland V8 if I had to... nice and light, but I love the Toyota engine. Throw a manual box behind either engine and find a diff that will hold up, but not wiegh as much as a 9". Custom coil overs on the front and do something about the leaf rear... A Hoppers Stoppers Brake kit and disks on the rear to slow me down and a set of nice wheels. Basically keep the car simple and smooth but have it handle and go like hell... I have nothing against 4's and 6's but I would love to see an Eight powering one of these. Something along these lines... http://www.1uzfe.com/ J.
  12. I plan to race, but not till I put in my new (non leakin) engine! Rollaclub grudge matches sound like fun, I would be up for it!
  13. Muller, I agree... WOW! Sundays would also suit myself better, it would probably suit others who work Saturdays like myself as well. I guess the main problem is where to hold an event. We have pretty much covered the what to do part and some of the when to's, but with Vic members from all parts of the city and as far as Bendigo/Ballarat etc, this would be the main worry. I have to say I don't mind a drive, Muller certainly doesnt! He made the Arthurs Seat run, but I know some members do. If the next event is the drags or drive in they are pretty much set for location, but Go-Karts and BBQ's can be had anywhere. What suits the majority?
  14. :) Haha... Its not a stupid idea at all, it would possibly get more Vic mimbers involved which would be a good thing. I am personally interested anyway, even if I do have a wrong wheel drive rolla! Any othr takers?
  15. I second that, its just waisted money. :( Sadly I'm going to tell you the same thing as everyone else, go a 4AGE, its a much better base to work with and is a pretty easy swap.
  16. Smart thinking MRMOPARMAN, its fun, relatively cheap and we can all do some bench racing in between... Any other ideas???
  17. Good to see you back RollaGurl! I agree with Muller, our last events havent been to dye for, but have still been a worthy of the drive. GZE82 tried in vane to organise an event recently with Twincam.org as well, we were the only two RollaClub members that made it and even then there were only four cars that went for the cruise! Other states seem to have there events sorted... whats wrong with VIC? I for one are always interested in a gathering, even if it is just a run to the drags, but something with around 15 people for lunch etc would be a hoot!
  18. No announcement as yet Muller, Tiger hasnt been on for a while, so we are still waiting! How about a cruise to Heathcote raceway then? (yes, I'm a bit of a drags nut) Its on the weekend and would make for a good drive...
  19. Hey Todd, It could be something as simple as a broken spot weld on the seat frame, I have to repair alot of these at work, its an easy fix to. If your only worried about getting rid of the play in the seat you could always throw a standard AE82 seat in for now, nice and cheap and will bolt in. Then you can work on getting your original seat fixed etc. If you swap the front seats you wont have access to the recliner or lumbar support lever, so that is a downside. But if your not worried about that have a look at the runners and that will tell you if they can be swapped. J.
  20. wELL, GOODLUCK! I will be there, making sure of it. Have to leave here (deer park) at 9:30 so its going to be a big day. Anyone else going to make the trip? We need a bigger Rolla club presence that a few of us!
  21. Just found out I might have to do a Corvette Soft Top Saturday morning at work... not good. Hopefully I wont but I'm not going to know til Friday. If that is the case are we stopping anywhere along the way? I might be able to catch up??? Fingers crossed. As for stickers PM Nick, he will be able to help you out.
  22. yeah, down the Maroondah sounds good, if its easy to keep on track we shouldnt have any probs. 10:30, 11 sound fair, don't want it to late. Have a bit of travel to do. Wheres the macca's?
  23. Its the bellmouth off the intake. Looks pretty wild! The wastegate screemer pipe vents through the small hole in the bonnet! Love it!
  24. Thats a nice seat you have there! Wont find many direct bolt ins! I was going to put a nice set of honda seats in mine but its to much stuffin around with the runners. The factory runners are very far appart compared to most seats. Have you looked into getting the seats retrimmed? I like the shape of the TwinCam ones so I'm retrimming mine rather than replacing them. As for recoing the runners, don't bother. Just head to your nearest wreckers and hunt down a good pair, far less mucking around and far cheeper in most cases. Jarrad
  25. sounds good, more numbers! It seems GZE82 is a bit snowed under with work so final details are still on there way.
