  1. Ok, cool. Thats 3 more confirmed that makes 9... On the numbers topic, my main problem with having say, 30+ people, we will have trouble finding accomodation. I havent got in contact with the park yet but when I do I will find out what sort of numbers they will be happy with. Will keep you all posted.
  2. can't wait for the excuses to come from stu when jarrod has smoketh'd with twinky Haha! We will see what happens! Ok, one thing I am trying to avoid is too many people. I am not sure how many is too many really, but I will have to get in contact with the Recreational park again to see what they say. Its looking like we will end up with 20 plus people at the moment, maybe 30. So yeah, lets see what the park says about numbers. On the other hand, I have also been talking to others that would like to come. So maybe we will end up with a pack of day trippers and an overnight bunch? Whats everyone think? Jarrad
  3. Nice work! I wish playing with real cars was as easy as mucking with my old models! I'm jelous of the new car, I have worked on the trim in a few of these and they always seem to come up really well. Have you decided what you are going to do paint wise? Or are you leaving it as it for the patina'd look? They look great with scollops!
  4. ^^^^^^^^^^^ agreed! I'm loving all of the cars your rolling out of the garage! Keep it up!
  5. Nice work Paul, and very impressive on killing a 4ac! The new colour should come up a treat, can't wait to see it at a meet in the future. And if you need a hand at all I will gladly assist when available! Jarrad
  6. I have thought about this as well, but I havent really looked into it. Maybe a Celica? You would have to look at the bearings used on all of the hubs and see if you could swap them over... I don't think you could redrill the Corolla ones like you can in early Holdens and the like. Hope this helps, Jarrad
  7. Oh, you can't do that to us all! Thats just left us hanging for an explanation!
  8. Thats where mine sits, just under 3500 is 100km/h, just over is 110! All just incase my speedo stops working! Paul, I will give you a drive of my Twinky if you come to the Great ocean Rd run, it will be a fair bit quicker than webbers! Just for comparison.
  9. We have alot of members in the area but as for people turning up to events...well, it leaves alot to be desired. We ended up with 3 rollaclub members at our last event! And that was a "big" turnout! lol! That said, we have 6 confirmed attendees and another 6 so far unconfirmed... will be getting onto them son. It would be great if a bunch of you... no matter how big or small... could make the trip, its going to be pretty relaxed and alot of fun and if all goes well I would like to make it an annual event. Anyway, thanks for the input Raven, much appreciated. Jarrad
  10. I will have my new engine in by then... will be in hopefully before christmas, so keep your pants on stu! I might just give you a hiding! I have had a good think and Saturday night looks the best. That way we can leave reasonably early Saturday morning and have a good day driving and checkin out the sites... some good photo ops on the way. As the sites will be unpowered we might as well all head out for tea or something, this can all be sorted out on the weekend. Also, heading out in the daylight and ariving in the daylight will be much better that getting there in the dark, we will have more time to do as we please and have a ball! Ok, so we have 6 people Confirmed at the moment (Me + ms, Webbers4x48 and missus, kickn5k and ...) I am going to get back in contact with The rec researve and get some more details sometime soon, I will also sort out what the deposit per site will cost. This will have to be done relatively soon as the parks tend to fill pretty quickly, so if your definentally coming post up and I will sort the deposits out. Jarrad
  11. how about dyno shops in the west or north? I'm probably going to have to get my '82 done for the timing. Any ideas?
  12. I love the rat look so the black one is in for me! The white one looks like a baby Mark 2 Corona from the side. Sorry, I don't have a side on picture of one of these. The hip line and window line are very similar, its a shame the Corolla didnt come with a six!
  13. yeah, thats what I was thinking. If I end up shelling out the cash intitially then noone turns up i would be a bit pissed! Thanks for the input.
  14. Again, from the vic page... Well, I have more news! I got a phone call today from the Apollo Bay Recreation Reserve, it turns out that they are quite happy to have us over the Aus day weekend (even if its only for one night... but we have to be nice to them) as long as its on a non powered site. They will be able to sort out a bunch of sites in a group so we can park on them as well as live on them for the night and are going to do it pretty cheap for the members of Rolla club if we get in early. The prices are $25 per site for 2 people and $7 per extra head, but he said that if we want parking space (and if were going to be nice to them) we should get enough sites for all of us as opposed to cramming a couple of sites full. This is the only place I have had any luck with out of the now 8 parks I have contacted, so its looking pretty good and the are looking after us. So again, the decision has to be made. Do we keep it on this weekend and book early? We would need conformation from members if they ARE coming... not just thinking about it, we would also possibly need a deposit of some kind? Or, do we make it a different weekend and try our luck with another park? Also, who would be interested in making it from friday to Sunday? Just a thought. Again, let me know what you think and if you are coming let me know who you are bringing ( for numbers). Its the start of november now so Australia Day isnt that far away! Jarrad

  16. Hi all, this has been posted in the Vic secion as well, I thought I would drag it over for everyone to take a gander at. Ok, its finally time for an update! Well, I have been on the phone and the net looking at accommodation in Apollo Bay, I was loking here as if we are going to make a great ocean rd trip we might as well do it properly! Also, it makes it easier for the SA mob to make the trip if they like. I have spoken to four Caravan/recreational parks about accomodating us over the Aus Day weekend and sadly it doesnt looke to good. I thought the idea of having it on that weekend might come unstuck and it has. This is mailny due to the fact that it is still school holidays at that time and most of the parks want a 7day booking as a minimum of a complete (3 day) weekend. The advice from all of the parks that I spoke to was to come back a bit later in the year )after school holidays) and to book as far in advance as possible as there weekend accomodation fills quite quickly. Costs varied from park to park, but werent to bad. I only priced powered sites as I thought we would like some light at night etc, unpowered sites were only slightly cheaper from what I was told also. I priced accomdation for 15 people and 10 cars, They were: $40 peak to $20 off peak per site for 2 peolpe, extra Audults were $10 to $15 extra per person, not bad really. Each site holds approx 4 people. All of the parks were in (or bloody close to) Apollo bay and were all a stones throw from the beach and shops etc. Ok, well, now we have some decisions to make. Do we keep the proposed date as Aus day and look in surrounding towns (eg. Lorne, aireys inlet, angle sea etc) for accomodation over the weekend? Or do we do as advised and make it slightly later in the year, when it is still warm, and head right through to Apollo Bay and camp the nigth there? I am sure we will have many more questions to be asked and answered so post them up along with your thoughts on the new info. Also, sorry if the spelling is shithouse! My computer restarted halfway through posting this up and now I'm out of time to do it right! If I have missed any info I have gathered I will post it up later on. Cheers, Jarrad

  18. Well sweet as, sounds good colin. If I have the time I will make the trip, I used to go to soemthing like this in Murray Bridge in SA.
  19. that would be great, I havent had much time up my sleeve of late so I havent had much to report!
  20. Sounds good stu, let us all know how you go mate.
  21. Cheers for that, I have just had to replace my driveshafts so I might as well get some use out of them. I am going to use the 20valve flywheel with the ae92 clutch and mate them up to my standard box. As I'm not having a complete 20valve engine as such I don't really need the 20 valve box, I'm pretty much going to end up with a high comp, high reving bigport engine, so my box will be just fine. Jarrad
  22. I was in the white twinky hatch with the black wheels on the run ROLLLA, might have seen me! I know you might have covered this before, but what engine are you running or planning to run?
  23. I have to say, I have seen this car in the flesh and it looks bloody sweet as! Well, hopefully I have the right car! It was at the CCC Cruise a few weeks back. Either way this car looks sweet as, good work mate.
  24. Cool, a bit of interest! Sorry to hear about the 55 Jordan, hope you find it/replace it sometime soon. At the moment its looking like the Australia day weekend will be when this will happen. November is a bit soon to have everything organised by as accomodation ect have to be sorted. I am currently in the process of looking up accomodation alternatives and things to do for the time we are there, I will keep you all posted on the progress.
  25. The one up top looks sweet as, doesnt look too top heavy and gives everyone you drive past a buggered neck. Got anymore?
