Gilmer drive fitted..........check Reduction starter refitted..........check ARP forest...........check Hopefully running again tonight if I can source a torque wrench. :y:

Go and wiki etc "capacitive discharge ignitions" or "CDi" as I can't bother explaining it. :y: And here's the Rocket Industries listing... http://www.rocketindustries.com.au/descrip...?partno=MSD6420 They're basically an ignitor that also boosts spark. The "L" on the end just means it has a built in rev limiter. And yes, it goes BETWEEN the dizzy and coil. :hmm:

You didn't give me a name mate, so that was all I could really put in the "attention to". Glad everybody is happy. :y: I fitted mine last night. As I thought would be the case the ke70 water pump has a different offset as well as PCD, so it wasn't straight forward. Have about 7-8mm of washers behind the water pump pulley at the moment, but I will make an alloy spacing ring and get some longer counter sunk bolts.

I'll have a vid you won't be dissapointed in by the weekend Brodie......cause it'll also feature boost! :y: Will chuck a link up on club-k too. :hmm:
-
Happy to help bud. :hmm: Got it on yet!? :y: I should be doing mine tonight, couldn't last night cause Top Gear Aus was on!!!! :y:
-
Fair enough, maybe I was hoping I would see you there. :hmm: I'd still be going if I was you. Feel lucky you can go!!! And I didn't ever think I'd see a Top Gear story filmed on Tassie roads!!! :y:

Yeah with it just out of the dump pipe you'll get an off boost (spooling) whine and and it'll sound like it has a screamer pipe on boost. I had a very quite 2 inch system with that setup, which lost the spooling whine, but that had an on boost whine (sounded sort of like a small electric motor). Was cool flicking the boost controller when you were already at gate pressure cause the electric motor sound was like somebody put 24 volts into it instead of 12v. :y: You'll find out soon enough what I mean. Actually you can hear it whining away in these vids, which is with the full quiet exhaust.... http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ay9iZ3kdhc http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=nnpGxTUWPVA&...feature=related

Running with the exhaust plumbed through the turbo? The spool whine on that thing sounds great! :y:
-
:hmm: thanks for the tip! :y: Neather actually thought of even asking about genuine inlet/ex gaskets. What size are the inlet ports on the genuine gasket? normal or big port? You know how the EM30 are all bigport. And how big is the extra stainless bit around the ex ports? Casue I just ported mine and will need to match the gasket. I buy so many EM30's my price at Bursons is now $6.50 each :y:

Should be one on the driver side front corner of the motor, and one at the back from the lifting hook to where the bracket for the brake boost 1 way valve is. If not put both of these in. NOW....Have you forgotten to mention that the battery is now in the boot? as it won't fit with that tubo kit!! :y: What size wire have you run down the car? Is the new earth from the battery to body decent?
-
That sounds a bit more like it. Just saw a skinny guy with a hat and thought it was the white commo driver. Personally (without a stop watch) I think the Dad in the Eski was probably the best of the day. :y:
-
Think I might have seen you in the back ground when they were talking about the lambo Jono! :hmm: Did you have some stubble happening? ....saw your Hack interview if you're wondering. :y:
-
:y: Deffinately let me know about swapsies dude, I'll even pay freight both ways since your turbs is a bit better!!! :y: My T25G was re-built befor I started using it, done maybe 200km so far so its still in perfect condition. No play or leaks obviously. Was going to suggest a custom copper gasket it you were just using a stock one. Temper (sp?) them properly and you won't have an issue. And while still on the subject of gaskets, are you using a permaseal 1 piece manifold gasket (part number EM30)? They're listed as extractor gaskets and last about 4 times as long as a shitty 2 piece ACL item. :hmm:

Heading home now to go and setup. Hope to see a few of you there. :y:
-
Yes mate, Endeavour made ours. :y:
-
Yeah Daim and I were just talking about that this arvo. Sits perfect on the parcel sheft where as it was a bit twisted and sat up wrong in Daim's. Exactly mate....I was only there for fun not trophies! :y:
-
POSTED! :hmm: Look tops Brodie very high quality product! thanks for sorting those head studs for me too buddy!
-
Daim just sent me a message saying "you have freight", and these are the only thing I'm waiting on now!!! :hmm:  Winke55 and harun - I'll just finish my lunch and I'll go home and get them, will express post them so you can expect to see them tomoz!!!
-
16psi ona ceramic wheel? Thats pushing it a bit! What condition is your tubo in? I may be persuaded to swap you my overrated T25G if its good!! Hits full boost on mine at like 3000rpm or less!! Oh and you burnt out the hot box gasket yet!? hahah. That was the biggest problem I used to have with the J-pipe setup - Stock hotbox and flange gaskets!
-
Aparently I came last!!! Have no idea how that works when there was a rally datto there that only got 1x clean pass all day cause he was going to hard, among others. Think the guy who won was in a white commonwhore who had to use reverse like 5 times all day!!! I didn't hit or miss a hat all day, never spun or used reverse. However I did f@$k up the first pass pretty bad (forgot the pattern) so I think I must have got heavily penalised for that, and could make it back. :hmm: I think I did pretty well for a motorkhana virgin (even if a long time "grass-thrash" fan :y: ). Ask your bro how he thought I went. Oh and tar will back together by the weekend I reckon (got my head this morning, NZ stuff should be here today or tomoz) so I'll be able to take you for a "full compression" drive soon.
-
Nice work Sash! :hmm: Nobody can say that you haven't done anything different, as that would have to be one of the first K I've seen running on gas (excluding fork lifts), let alone a boosted one!! Got any pics of the ex mani out of the car? And is that a T28? judging by the bent actuator rod. Whats lag like? Oh and you have got the oil feed directly on top yeah? hard to see with the water lines there too.
-
Hmm, intersting. Can anybody confirm this and I will revise the FAQ to suit?????? I know as much as all T50's have the same shifter, so they are interchangable even from TA22 - say AE86. Understand what you're saying about the chassis being the same between TE72/AE71/AE86, but why didn't they use a 22 spline in a TE72!? :hmm: Somebody got pics of a TE72 T50 please???

Hey Josh, If you have a ke30 with the straight up and down bolts to hold on the MC ('55 ones are offset) then apparently a Patrol 1" bore MC will fit straight onto the ke30 booster. However this sort of thing is only required if you have done a break upgrade and need to push more fluid. Rotor - You can get cross drilled and/or slotted replacement rotor from RDA etc (bout $300 a pair at SCA). Or have a search around here for brake upgrade options, as there is heaps.

Yeah relly good mate. I'm now a MSCT member (obviously) and got an 12 month S2 licence aswell, so wasn't a cheap day...but the next one will be!!! And I can now do club days for the daily entry fee! Which Tar will be seeing very soon. Had heaps of fun, as did everybody there I think - 22 entries all up. Wasn't all the bumpy at all, but got pretty boggy by the end of the day, which didn't help being the last to go every time! :hmm: I was # 22. Pretty sure the next one is in 4 weeks time at Archer's Manor again, so will be much more suitable for you. I'll have Tar at that one too.

email them to me and I'll host them, send me a PM for email address. OR do you know you can upload pics here? Just use the attachments box at the bottom when making a reply.
