Are you looking at marks on the front of the bulley or at the back of it?
-
Sounds like we all need to chip in for a "Rollaclub Tas communal thrasher"!!! Its actually not a stupid idea as it sounds! I know one local member is soon to have a suitable rolling shell, and between all of us we've probably got enough partS to get it running and keep it that way!!
-
Nah doesn't drop off in boost. Boost control with this turbo is actually really good, compared to say the TD04-L which would spike by 2-3psi. Spool quick and hard to the desired pressure, no spiking at all, and sits constant until you grab another cog. I'll wait and see what the A/R's are on this T28 then look at different covers etc, or maybe high flowing.
-
Yeah v8's would be the ramblers. Think I've seen the couple of dattos, the supras like a black MA70 or something isn't it?
-
Nice work buddy. That looks like heaps of angle on the first pic. Turn one off the straight? Sutton had a busy weekend by the looks of it then! Must see if he got some nice pics of me on Saturday. Or was this last weekend?
-
hehe, figured you would want to keep it for the 7k build anyway. Worth a try! Thats unfortunately about the last we'll see of the T25G as it'll be coming off some time during the week and heading to Loupee. It wouldn't be making a whole heap more than the 100rwkw I made befor, only real changes that would effect power delivery are the light weight flywheel and T50. Everything else is the same apart from boost creaping up just slightly. Can feel a little more though - at a guess I'd say maybe just under 110rwkw. Mine has a .48 on it too. yeah spools hard as but isn't real impressive after that. In 3rd say, you'll have full boost by about 3500rpm, then you can hear it come on cam, but doesn't really pull much harder through the rev range. Maybe its also time to put this big cam in that I have with the T28 too!? Might invest in a new 15psi actuator then, are you talking a HKS one? like the 1 BAR actuators? 15 is plenty for launching, think more would make me slower. So then I can flick the switch (or thinging of putting a 'scramble boost' button on the steering wheel) when I hit 2nd or 3rd. Kept finding the limiter (7000rpm) in first and second the other day too. hehe
-
Hell yeah can never have enough boost! Got an S15 BB T28 with a steel wheel on the way thanks to loupee in the next couple of weeks so that'll fix the the boost situation. However how much do you want for the 25/30 though Darren? Is it still in good nick?
-
Yeah I know, Nick could tell you what Tarmak is like, its not always the most accurate of timing. Listen to the commentator at the end of the "bearing noise vid". Since he had the handicap on me, it was probably the other cars back wheels or something that got taken as my 60' time maybe!?
-
Yeah its great stuff. Says on the packet its for fixing leaking fuel tanks or radiators so you know its not effected by fuel or heat (within reason) for any other applications. Í've never used it for either of those reasons, I've successfully used it a couple of times to fix leaky turbo oil returns in the sump.

Yeah would have been, what did you get out of that in the end? Needed more gearing though didn't it. Speaking of which, there was a little hold up when I was in the staging lanes, guy called me over and asked about the bolt-on. Told him where I got them and stuff and said "have you got a corolla you want to put them on?" him - "nah my mate here has a corolla with a v6 in it" Me - "ah you've got the old red slut now?" Owner - "....ah yeah its red" *funny look*

This was my second pass burnout. Was just dropping the clutch in second for them. On this occasion I dumped to clutch and got a whole heap of what sounded like bearing noise from somewhere, hence didn't do a very long one (that and having the advans on). When I uploaded the vid to my laptop, was quite suprised to hear it clean as day in the vid (thanks to justin being a pussy and not doing a burnout :) )........ http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b396/taz...nt=100_2298.flv Didn't do it again all day, so don't know if it was the T50, diff, or maybe even like the gilmer jumping a tooth or something!! :P Oh well, at least I didn't break anything!

Unfortunately the wagon tank is somewhat unique as its under the car. Sedans and coupe all have them behind the back seat. If it is a small leak then you should be able to fix it with a product call "need it", which is an epoxy putter. Fixing fuel tanks is actually one of the things is designed for. Have you seen the Monster Garage episode where they make the Peterbulit trike? If so thats what they use to fix the leaking fuel tank in that. :)

thanks Darren. Yeah both yourself and Matt have questioned that 60' today, so maybe it isn't correct. Anything is possible at Tarmak! :) I'll have a look at my slips again. Noticed my first couple of runs where around 2 flat, third was likie 1.9 something. That last one was a good launch, but maybe not that good. :P I was racing on Advan A032R(S) tyres though, so it was hooking up pretty well. Think one of my highest speeds was about 147kmh. Don't know the weight of the car yet. Would be around stock though. Maybe I'm gunna have to take to the car with a holes saw to get closer to your ke10 weights! :D Yeah still running an open wheeler. Don't particularly want a weldy in the car as it handles too well and I don't want to upset it with understeer. I have a T series diff here, just need to cut the coil mounts off it and get it fitted up. So an LSD will be on the cards early next year hopefully.

Here's the slip for my best run, didn't get a vid of it unfortunately....somebody forgot. Popped a cherry in the first round! :P But pretty happy with the 60' time! :D Believe me now Matt!? :)

Sure is mate. 14psi all day, hopefully next outing will be on 20 odd. :P Here's one for the ford fans then. :) ...I hate running against noise 12 flat super streets Grrr. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b396/taz...nt=100_2304.flv Another against a v8 commonwhore. Ate him off the start line and he just caught me over the finish line. Need more boost captain!! :D .... http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b396/taz...nt=100_2302.flv

another one against my mates Soarer.... http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b396/taz...nt=100_2300.flv

Just Wondering How I Can Get A Cold Air Intake On A Nikki Carbi I'
Taz_Rx replied to trav_555's topic in General Mechanical
Easiest way to fit a pod filter is to us a carby hat from a liteace. :) -
That could have a whole lot to do with it! :P :)
-
Bullshit. I made 100rwkw on 10psi with a 5k. No way in hell you'll get that persormance out of a "fan in a tube"! :P
-
Just loosen all of the sump bolts and drop it down a little bit. Double nut and remove the 4 studs through the sump into the timing cover and reasemble with small 10mm bolts to make life easier in future. You cannot do valve clearnaces with the head off. :( I'll let you work out why when you do get around to doing them. :P

Interstate Transport - What Courier To Use
Taz_Rx replied to kangaroosa's topic in Automotive Discussion
I've used Tasfreight for getting engine and GB's doen here befor Darren. They are obviously a tassie based company, but have depots in all capital cities. If you can get the seller to deliver it to their depot in Qld/NSW, and you pick it up from the depot in melbourne then you should only be up for about $150!!! If they need to collect it from the seller, they use a local courier company as an "on-forwarder" to collect it and deliver to their depot, and will pass this cost onto you. Happened to me once and the on-forward charge was only like $60. :P I have also found Fastaway courier to be quite cheap and helpful, so maybe give them a yell as well. -
Yes you could theoretical use the 7KE manifold gasket, but I wouldn't because: 1, Exhaust ports are MUCH bigger and would need a bullshit amount of porting 2, Bolts are 12mm, not 10mm as for the oval shaped inlet ports, if you round them out they will become the size of a 3kbp! So this isn't too much of an issue. Below is a pic of my matched ported 7ke manifold, with a Permaseal EM30 (big port sized inlets) manifold gasket over it. The left hand side has been matched, but you can still see the oval runners on the right..... The top and bottom of the ports lined up near perfect, it was only the sides that needed taking out. :P
-
:P What exactly do you want to know? Just go down and tell them you want a boss kit for a '70 and they'll order you one in. Should be around $80-90.

See if you can find a little tag hanging off one of the diff bolt that should have a serial number and ratio printed on it. Might not be able to find it if somebody has removed the diff befor and not put it back. Short of that, count some teeth and we'll work it out. :P
