  1. Yeah that head looks pretty good. Bugger all corrosion in the water jackets, most of them are all pretty sad these days.
  2. Another late night!! :hmm: didn't finish (well I didn't finish) until 1130pm last night, wouldn't start as the battery was half flat. Left it on the charger all night. Wouldn't start again this morning....until I noticed that the dizzy had unlocked itself (think I'd better do a better job than cable ties! :D Fixed that, still wouldn't start, pulled 25% of the fuel out and away she went, then would run very weel until you knocked the fuel back in, so the start enrichment needs to be knocked back a bit! :D Also had a leaking injector o-ring last night, so that wasted another 30-45 minutes on that. Its also leaking a bit of oil from the sump seal! :y: but still is most likely because I did up all the bolts with a speed brace and they're not tight enough (re-did a couple). will get under it again tonight and nip them all up and hopefully I should be all good. Took a few pics and a vid of the Gilmer drive this morning. Brought the camera to work and forgot the bloody cable so I'll upload them after lunch some time.
  3. Read my thread as its my first setup, I'm on number 3 now. There is also a lot of info about setting up that setup in the "turbo 4k" thread in "engine conversions" forum. :hmm:
  4. My carby turbo setup made 70rwkw on 8psi, so its not too shabby. What exactly have you got in they way of ignition? Electronic dizzy I'm guessing? And is it ECU controlled? and is the dizzy locked?
  5. Took a vid this morning. Bought the camera to work but forgot the bloody cable for it! :hmm: Going out for lunch with the missus and shes bringing it in for me so I'll have it up later today. EDIT: Here its is! :y: ..... http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b396/taz...nt=100_2280.flv
  6. The act that he dug up an old topic shows this guy actually searched for info befor starting a new topic. Kudos to him for that, not enough people do it. :hmm:
  7. I'm supprised it took that long for somebody to question that comment!!! :hmm: I was incouraging the guy to search for himself and find out that I was full of shite. :y:
  8. hahaha
  9. .....question answered.....
  10. But am I correct in assuming by my final time that I came 6th overall? :hmm:
  11. Yeah shit wasn't co-operating for me, so it was a bit of a late one. About to have an early arvo off work, so then I can get her running and still watch law and order!! :hmm:
  12. West Tamar HIGHWAY. and its not so much the road itself, but driving a car that needs some 'front suspension attention' along it. :hmm:
  13. haha yeah Dan and I spent a few hours on it last night, head was finally bolted on about 1130 or so. There was no torque settings on the genuine head gasket packet and I had a mental blank on what its supposed to be! Checked the FAQ and all it said was "per gasket recommendations". :hmm: thanks Matt, thought the msg would be ok as it way only 9:00pm there yeah? Forgot to get some valve stem seals yesterday (o-rings), did the late night trip to Jim's (servo with car parts in store) and they didn't have any that were the right thickness. Will get some this arvo though. Manifolds, turbo, dump pipe, and head are all bolted back on. So all that is left to do tonight to get here running again is: Fit valve stem seals. Fit rocker gear Tappet clearances Re-fit tappet cover Fit oil filter Put speedflow lines back on and wiring loom Bolt exhaust back on to dump pipe Gap and fit new plugs Re-fit cooler piping Fill with fluids Turn key! :D So expect a vid of the Gilmer tomoz, maybe tonight. :y:
  14. Glad its going up the east tamar not west!! :y: :hmm:
  15. Right. As far as I can tell by times I actually came in 6th place! I think the reason I'm at the bottom of the list is because I didn't have a "No Bull" sticker to run for points! :hmm: Can you confirm this Sturgey?
  16. Pic of mine here... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=10940&st=525
  17. Got email results today. Can't be bothered uploading them right now so I'll do it tomoz. :y:
  18. Yeah I know mate, at my request! :y: I thought this might be the case, but knew they would be made to the 30-55 offset which I knew I could correct. If they were all 70 offset, the 30-55 guys would be in trouble with pulleys sticking out too far. All good mate. :hmm:
  19. Good to hear you got it sorted mate! :hmm: Yeah keep us posted on dyno figures. I made 100rwkw on 10psi as a reference. :y:
  20. You don't need to try and convince me of that!!! :y: Its just that: 4x114 centrelines = sort of hard to find (easier than SSR's anyway) 5x100 centrelines = dime a dozen!!
  21. Convert to Holden 5 stud!! :y:
  22. Thats Casey's sad heap of shite. :y:
  23. So that you don't have to fork out heaps for SSR's, there's an aus made version of those wheels called "centre-lines" AKA "brake warmers" :hmm:. You should be able to find a set of these locally, quite easy, and cheaper. :y:
  24. Hopefully got a mate bringing one in for me today, but I'll keep you in mind if it drops through, cheers.
  25. Geek!! :y: :hmm:
