  1. You'd you go? Break anything else? hehe
  2. Again.....its good you already know how a realy works. Starter motors have an internal relay. The big wire which should be the red one is infact a direct power from the battery, and always has power - for this reason its best to disconnect the battery befor working on a starter motor. The other smaller black/white wire is the "start" position trigger. There is no earth wire as the starter motor earths itself through the gearbox/engine block, but it doesn't hurt the have another earth strap somehwere in this area to the chassis. When you turn the key to "start", it triggers the SM's internal relay spinning the main motor, while also powering the solinoid to through out the gear. If the small black/white wire is broken disconnected then nothing at all will happen. If the big red wire is broken/disconnected you should still hear the click of the internal relay and solinoid, but the motor will not spin.
  3. Be quick girl...... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/board/in...showtopic=37363 -15's at that price won't last 2 days.
  4. Fuggin tell me about it!! :D
  5. Looks good. You going to put your 2ttc in it?
  6. He means hydraulic lifters. Take your tappet cover off and have a look if you have adjustable rocker gear, if not its still hydro.
  7. Go to Burson and order a Permaseal EM30. They have bigport sized inlets.
  8. ^^^yeah have you tried just putting some chemiweld in it? Might be worth a shot!
  9. ....and "my other car is a sprinter Trueno".....on a levin. haha :P
  10. ....and you need to learn the difference between a Corolla and an RX2! :P
  11. Sucks man, sorry to see its happened again!!! :P Don't you live next door to a cop?
  12. How's that different to our ke30 bonnets? EDIT: No vents?
  13. Sure does, even more so because of the SC's low RPM power curve. I highly doubt you'll get boost down to 4 psi either!
  14. I can help with prices as I prices some a few weeks back. Toyota: Inlet valves - $38.50 each Ex valves - $50 each Valve guides - $21 each Veal in Perth: In valves - $9.70 Ex valves - $12.50 Valve guides - $3
  15. For last time,..... they were not comparing the cars  And everbody keeps dwelling on the fact that they didn't do a fair comparo, when it wasn't a comparo at all!! It was simply a statement (and this also explain the short story) that aussie produced performence cars have basically the best bang for buck in the world!
  16. Lucky you said Saturday, not Sunday. You realise Bathurst is this weekend!? Dunno if I'll make it out, wíll let you know.
  17. What sort of power are these rb26dett making? You probably find they're getting right up there with turbos that don't spool up until like 4000-5000rpm. In this case a "big cam" can still be the go for basically a fully worked motor. For a much more user freindly ever day type car the stock lump stick is the way to go. Also bare in mind that a superchargers power range is more so low-mid RPM, instead of mid-high like a turbo. So a stock cam again is looking better. :)
  18. ^^^^^^ :) missSX, it sometime pays to read other posts, rather than reading the topic heading and making a reply. :) Oh and if you're that dissapointed in the aussie version.......don't watch it, plain and simple.
  19. yep, ONLY the 5 spd from a ke70 has the "4 bolt wedge" mounting you need. All other k40/50 have the 1 bolt, and the wedge is 90o around the other way.
  20. ke70 K50. :)
  21. Spewn!! Yeah dunno about the wrong size welsh plug thing. :) They're only thin brass, You think they'd bend befor cracking a cast iron block if the hole wasn't big enough. Just dig a trench across to top of the crack with an angle grinder and fill it with "need-it"!! :)
  22. Of the exhaust ports? Couldn't tell you sorry Todd, and I've already taken that gasket back. However those bolt holes are 12mm, not 10mm like the rest, and they're nearly twice as wide as that so roughly 24-25mm squared. Makes you wanna do some more research in head inter-changability hey!? Yes a 7k has a wider block....but are 5k/7k heads still swappable!!!??? :) I'm gunna get the tape measure out when I get home!! 7k's still have dished pistons IIRC so you might be able to keep the stock 5k CR. 7ke head would go off its tits on a 5k with those ports if it all worked! :)
  23. :) I can make you one!? Or just give me $10K and take the whole car!!! :) Design of the k'sev dash wouldn't allow you to be as creative though.
  24. If you've only stretched or snapped the cable you can get if fixed at somewhere like "Cable Mate" for like $20!!! :)
