The plan is to do a weekend working bee with a few people, couple of welders, grinders etc etc. Also planning on building a 3m cubed "tri truss" structure sort of like this one below (I hire/build these), that we can hang the wagon body from on some chain block and push the chassis in and out from underneith it. Have a team starting at the back and one from the front, and hopefully by the time the weekend is over they've met in the middle. :jamie:

Small update for Mud: Now that Tar is "finished" I keen as to start on this conversion. Have looked at 2 LWB sierra's in the last week. One was last night, was a very old one with no rego, rusted out body etc, but came with heaps of spares: Both diffs, transfer case, GB and more. And was like $350-$400 but somebody is supposed to be picking it up on Saturday, sellers is going to call me Sunday morning if it doesn't go. Other one is a private sale by a family freind. Much later (83 I think) model, good body & tray, rego till June next year!! Considering its good condition I reckon I'll take it for $1500! :P Probably drive it as is for the summer (might also fit the 7k and W50 in it) for camping/fishing trips etc, then kick the body off it in autumn next year. Good thing about the sierra being registered is I'll also be looking at rego'ing it as a 'Re-bodied Sierra' rather than a 4x4 converted ke36. With hopefully have pics of either one in my backyard in the next week or two. :jamie:

K-50 Or T-50 , Can Someone Tell Me Please

The story goes that Toyota ran out of K boxes when the ke35 was on the production line. Having a decent supply of T50's, they decided to make basically and interum bell housing to fit the T50's to K motors as to not halt production. As soon as K40/50 were available again they dropped the T50. -
Mark on the back of the pulley is TDC. Ignore the ones on the front. Remove spark plug # 1 and use a long handled screw driver through the hole to sit on the top of the piston. This will give you a visual reference of where the piston is in its stroke. Remove the tappet cover so that you can see the rockers moving. wind the motor over by hand while keep an eye on both the rockers and the screw driver and make sure everything is moving correctly, when it should do. :jamie:

Do you like Pinot Noir SS? Thats the Tamar Valley where all of our nice wine comes from. .......and about 30-40 Km up that river is where the proposed Gunns Pulp Mill will be, just above the ke20. :jamie:

What did you pay for it you lucky bastard? -
I've got a knox super plush in my RX4, nice carpets. Moulding is good, but they don't come with any holes in them so take you're time and do a nice job. :)

Have seen the 171 footer and the snow park befor on youtube, but that Gymkhana vid is awesome!!! :) :)

Random pic of last nights haul! :( Couple of big buggers... .......and don't I regret the Garlic this morning!! :) :)
-
:) :) :( I thought it was going to be the old shoe-lace trick, but thats just mad!!! Maybe he tried to get the Nav to do it....... I would've said "Get f%^$ed and do it yourself, I'll steer" too. :hmm:
-
Do you know Scott that works at Jax quick fit? He just hooked me up with some pre-loved tyres for Dirt for like $20 each. :lolcry:
-
:lolcry: :hmm: :D Like a v8 has better fuel consumption than a rotary!! ;) Fuel consumption in any car is dependent on YOUR right foot. 4, 6, 8 or rota. And ofcourse a motor that revs to 10,000rpm is going to chew the fuel to do so!

Why not go for a ke70 gearbox, might make your centre console easier?
-
I didn't do it in front of a cop  .... so I've got away with it. Still felt pretty stupid about it though. $110 + 3 points here. But the stupid thing is running a orange light is exactly the same fine! :jamie:

jndhcmvcuwebslsaofhbnfn <See these things? they're called letters. You can make words out of them to say stuff, just like that writing stuff that is in porn magazines. :jamie:

Been there done that. Atleast you're aware how stupid and dangerous it is and will be no doubt paying a lot more attention while driving inb future. :jamie: Accidents, or near-accidents normally have a prett good outcome in terms of driver education and alert-ness. You always walk away thinking...."well I'll never do that again".

If they were making any profit from the sticker it would only be plowed back into the site. :jamie: Not many people are aware that rollaclub isn't free for everybody.......Ben (Irokin) puts a lot of his own money into the site to keep it running and doesn't get anything in return.
-
That'd be spot on. :jamie: There was no way i hell we could get all of the cars in one shot without parking the patrol on the highway (which I don't think Kye would have liked :bash:), so that pic is actually a panoramic of 6 photos blended together (hence the editing) and that's why the curve has been lost. You see if you can find a seam in the high-res shot though!! Adam did a bloody good job patching it all together. He also took 6 photos (different light settings) per each 6 parts of the panoramic. So 36 pics total - in a time frame in which the clouds haven't moved too far!!
-
You also missed the bit where I said "you can have a free rollaclub sticker if you put it on your front windscreen now!" :jamie:
-
Good point. I have absolute no issue with paying for the photo for the purpose of the Calendar. But if everybody wants a a high-res copy to do what they want with, I think maybe they can chuck in a couple of bucks for it!? I'm going to try and get out to your place very soon to pick up some bits, so I'll 'discuss' it with you then. :jamie:
