  1. You need to fix the manifold and/or flange gasket leal first!
  2. Just noticed there is a a swap meet on tomorrow in the carpark next to the automobile museum. Anyone getting a stall?
  3. That reminds me.... HB cosmo
  4. There was actually a 929 coupe released with a 13bt as the second generation cosmo!
  5. Crow make/used to make roller rockers for k's, maybe give them a call!
  6. Got any pics of that head mate?
  7. I do have other plans for the 7k, not that that project will probably ever happen. Plus I would prefer the revvier nature of the 5k. I did do a little bit of porting on the exhausts. More so just a clean up and an smooth though. Can't go too huge though due to the size of the runners on the manifold. Got about 200km on it now. Definately needs some more fuel in the map.
  8. I've got tomei chrome moly push rods in mine, surely you could shorten some of those for the 3k. A12 rods btw.
  9. Oh yeah, the bottom end will pull revs easy its the valve springs that will give out first.
  10. Its alive again! Needed a little more fuel dialed in like the 7k. Went and spoke to a mechanic about some road tuning, will get some k's racked up and get her sorted. Should be able to get some more timing in it with the lower comp. Hill starts are now even more fun with the lightened fly wheel, button clutch, hd pressure plate and 7:1! :rolls:
  11. I'm also of the opinion that 300 is probably a little enthusiastic for a 3k. 25psi will get around 150-160rwkw..... And that's really about all the head will flow. Just because your maths says 50% more pressure will give Xrwkw doesn't mean it works in reality. Remember when comparing the 3k to a 4age that the 4age is also cross flow! I'd still like to see you price me wrong though. Thought about cam specs to achieve 10k rpm? And lobe seperation?
  12. All done just having a small starting issue, should be all good shortly.....hopefully!
  13. Haha, nice work. I know someone in town who has one of the half metre diameter death stars, as well as one of the big millennium falcons.
  14. Looks like a 55 dizzy
  15. 2:35am.... Top side is all done except radiator and cooler pipes, exhaust on, starter motor in and i'll be all done! I off to bed.
  16. Its currently tuned for 98. I'll run it in and readdress. We've got a liberty or two selling e blends up here now, not sure if they do e85, might investigate.
  17. decent sized single will outperform any twin setup these days altezza. I think this will be more of a matter of "tuning" A/R ratios to suit the rev range.
  18. Sounds very interesting! Put any thought into turbo selection yet?
  19. Sure did, got my old ones to offload now with the rods I got off you. Should hopefully be running tomorrow morning all going to plan. Could be tonight if I wanted. The manifolds are all on just need to drop it in, couple of fuel and water lines on, clutch and acc cables and fill with fluids. If I text you a pic can you easily upload here from your phone. can't on my phone.
  20. Front and rear shots almost look a bit moto guzzi with those mirrors! Do like.
  21. So specs: Bottom end: 0.5mm over bore Endurotech 0.5mm over "D dish" pistons Hastings chrome moly rings (honda e series oversize) Stock rods New big ends and mains, all new gaskets. Crow 600740 regrind with 114 L/C Crow 202 solid lifters Tomei chrome moly push rods Rollmaster adjustable double row timing chain kit. Head: 4k flat top head. Now 7:1 C/R Ported and bead blasted inlet ports - now 3kbp size with opened bowls. Cleaned up and polished exhaust ports. Lapped valves Crow double row valve springs New valve stem seals ARP head studs Genuine toyota 5k head gasket Think that's about it. all other specs are as per previous built except turbo which is now an S14 t28 with a .49 rear.
  22. So.... Really time for an update.... I didn't really let on what I was up to back in december, some know. I removed the 5k for a rebuild.... Still ran great I just had an oil leak I couldn't fix. Turned to be a hairline crack in the timing cover. Also found 3 broken top rings. Any way, I decided to drop my 7k in as an interum motor while I did the 5k..... That didn't last long! :rolls: I went out on the highway to check wheel balance issue and ended up giving the 7k a gut full on about 15psi..... And blew the head gasket. Grrrr. Was my own fault, tune was in no way suited for the 7k. We were very suprised that the stock cammed 7k needed around 35% extra fuel on the cammed 5k map just to start!! I did also knock some timing out of the tune, probably not enough though. So.... As I've let on a little lately, all parts are now sourced and I finished building last night. Removed 7k this morning and will hopefully drop 5k in tonight! Not rushing things. Need some oil and a filter so I'll grab them in the morning and hopefully turn the key. So can't wait! Have been driving "Dirt" for over 12 months minus 1 week of 7k action in dec. Oh and while I've had time I've re polished a few bits and polished some new bits to. Spec list for new motor to come.
  23. Make it around 7ish, should be in the shed dropping 5k in by then. At work at the mo.
  24. Dan you can still buy brand new REPRODUCTION guards for 30/55. They're rubber pressed not steel pressed like original ones though so can have some small ripples. They also don't have any holes drilled in them so that needs to be done top suit vehicle (ie 55 with wrap around bumpers). But yes some hoarders have straight, rust free goodies stashed away for rainy days. I've still got those brown XX ones.
  25. 0.5mm is 40 thou.... Which should be heaps. You've got ring marks in the bores? Maybe you should just call me!.... As I also have another 5k bottom end I could sell, but unsure of condition.
