Hmmm, yeah cold starting in the morning is my biggest issue still.
Did you get a fuel pressure gauge? If so will yours hold fuel pressure once switched off or does it drop off to 0?
Also how did you go with the idle bypass?
Small update.......
Less than 100km of run-in K's to go now. Might look into booked the road tuning in 2 weeks time (w/e after long w/e)....... Can't wait for more rpm and boost!
Recently offloaded a heap of left over parts too, so I now also have funds for tuning. Anybody want some extractors???
I'm pretty sure the old ke10 gearboxes had a smaller spline clutch kit. No biggy though, just put the original 3k flywheel and clutch kit onto the back of the 4k.
Apart from that everything should be fine. You might however just want to swap some of the 3k ancilaries (water pump, thermo housing, alternator etc) to make you're life super easy and they do change slightly.
Who do you think helped me assemble it! lol
His "rrrrrrrmmmmmmm psssssch" (as he calls it) addiction is getting a bit out of hand lately!
....Oh and he helped me bleed the brake in the mazda last night.
There's not much wiring on a K so pretty much forget that.
Just get the 4k, strip it down to a "long block" and just transfer all the 3k bits on. Carby, dizzy, alternator etc etc.
Why do you find all the bargains Gav!?
That my friend is indeed "rocking horse shite" in the form of a cable K-T bellhousing. Gearbox is a TA22/T18 style T50, which has the shifter position the same as a 30/55 style box. If you've also got a k50 in then the tailshaft will also slip straight in with no mods.
So to fit it all you really need to do is get a new clutch kit (the K-T's use the kit listed by most clutch companies as "Some 5 speeds" with the 21 spline shaft) and sort out a cross member...... which could just be a matter of rotating it 180 degrees.
Yeah some of those 15x8, 0 toyo industry things wearing Potenza semis.
I've also got a pair of 15x10 0's
Since it was last on the road some of the updates include:
Above new wheels
Prepped & painted flares in satin black
New stainless flare bolts
Flare piping
Tinted windows
All new window flocking
Central locking
Passenger door swap with "Dirt"...... think it was the last perfectly straight panel on Dirt and Tar's had a slight dent.
Dash fixed and repainted
I just had a few things that required the car to be off the road for a little while. Never planned for it to be around 12 months! :rolls:
So I've been doing a little road tuning lately. Have got it driving, and more importantly starting really well now.
Went out for a little drive yesterday and got a couple of pics......
Now have around 450km on the motor.
Its currntly getting the rear screen tinted today, I removed all of the side glass to get that done. Heaps better result as tyhe tint goes under all the rubber and flocking instaed of 1-2mm off the edge.
Oh and here's a pic of Byron lapping my valves....
Hate to say I've never had my own o2 sensor, but I'm going to get one rather soon so I can do some more tuning myself..
I've always known it needed some more off boost, drive-ability tuning. Thats why its being road tuned this time,.... rather than getting a sheet with a number in the corner.
