  1. Umm... the little green one with the dual steering as well? :P
  2. Well hey with my front splitter after waiting for it for 6 months and getting told "yeah mate it's almost done", "next week mate", "just got to make the mounting tabs" etc it turns out not only had he LOST my front stone tray, he hadn't even STARTED to look at my front splitter. I had to wander through his workshop to find my stone tray (that was damaged) and then he made my front splitter in 2 hours. I didn't bug him about the damage to my stone tray, in fact even the front splitter wasn't perfect (it was after all only 2 hours work), I just wanted to get my stuff and get out of there... And yes I agree with Jamie - with 90% of my cases the more friendly you get with the people doing the work the worse the service gets. Has even motivated me to just go to big companies like Midas, bend over and pay through my arse, at least I get the service on time, and with a reasonable level of quality. It's a pity, but it's true. Some people are genuine and are worth getting to know and respect, others aren't. Sort them out into their respective categories and in time you'll have a host of mates you can trust, and you won't keep getting f**ked around by the other "mates" that aren't worth knowing.
  3. Welcome to the world of cars. I wouldn't get too worried about it, just get used to it. Since starting project Hal I've learnt not to expect to get anything back in time, that way if it does get back in time I can be pleasantly surprised. I waited 6 months for my front splitter (with "next week mate"'s virtually all the way), I'm still waiting for the boot divider that I lent someone. Both of these things I was told I'd get the week after I gave it to them. I've stayed at home countless times waiting for people to show up, they never did. I've driven just about everywhere (to the coast about 20-30 times) to pick up something that was not finished. I've had my car towed somewhere only to find that I couldn't store the car because the people running the spray booth decided to go home early without telling me. The ratio between the number of promises that have been broken and the number made is about 99:1. I waited 3 months for my engine. I wasn't too fussed because I wasn't in a hurry. Then I got it, and it's missing so many bits, I've been driving back and forth getting bits and pieces since. I still haven't gotten all my bits. I sent my gearbox away and was told I'd get it back later that week. Don't remember exactly when that was, but it'll have to be at least 2 months ago. The guy who's looking at it has been busy. I still don't have my gearbox. No idea when I'll get it, all I can do is twiddle my thumbs I suppose... Hal was supposed to be on the road before April. That became end of April. It's now looking closer to June. Who knows, maybe June will turn up and I'll say August. No idea. Meh. Get used to it.
  4. Dunno yet... Might do the Dwarf again, or maybe Hal. Or something else... Not sure yet. I think I'm going to take a short break though, very busy with stuff these days...
  5. FINISHED AT LAST!!! REDATTO LIVES FOREVER :P :D :D *refer to previous page to see finished product* :D Mel: what do you think?
  6. Not to mention motorcycle engines tend to have about zero torque. There are already motorcycle powered cars (Hayabusa generally), but they're generally in lighter cars like Lotus 7's. I think I posted a link to a twin engined one ages ago.

Hmm, wish I could say the same... :P
  8. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA I wonder how much they paid the guy who wrote that spiel... He's done a pretty good job of making the mighty corolla sound like a Ferrari or something...
  9. Hmm, can't remember. I think I typed in something like "1987 Toyota Crown engine". Found it within the 4th click. Google doesn't answer all your questions straight up you know, you still have to go looking...
  10. Definately not a 4AGE, I believe it is a 3M-GEU. And yes, Google answered that one too :P

Hmm, still too slack to fix handbrake, guess you'll have to put up with my whinging about it for a bit more :P
  12. I wouldn't know, Pinky tops out at 120-125km/h...
  13. White is actually supposed to be one of the easiest colors to keep looking clean. Try owning a black car and you'll know what I mean... Even all the black bits of Hal look a lot more dirty than the rest of the car... I think technically Corolla white (and perhaps some other Toyota whites) is known as Peak White.
  14. No, I was too busy trying to hang on to the steering wheel :P I wouldn't know about your car not getting up and boogeying, Pinky has never gotten up or even rolled over, what you saw the other night is Pinky trying real hard but not getting anywhere - as usual...
  15. Heh, if anyone wants to paint their Corolla (or other car) a factory Corolla white, I have 4L of it for sale :P
  16. Grim: Hehe, I think we've resolved the "whose car is faster" debate that never happened... Going back from go-karting the other day you just kept passing me as if I wasn't even moving - even with my pedal to the metal...

I'm still in a world of pain...

Umm, I think with the tied places you should number them as such... eg: 1st: Rob 1st: Fook 3rd: Teddy 4th: Nick 4th: Ian etc. A bit misleading otherwise

I'll try to hound Haikal for some photos :)

Haha, I doubt it. I generally tend to hang around the mid-rear of the field and hope that everybody gets WD's and then sneak to the front :) You might be quick though, your car is heaps quicker than Pinky... Plus maybe you can drive :o

I should be there about 6.45 or so, maybe a little earlier.
  24. Oh you got those wheels, sweet :) They're nice.
  25. Control arms are 30mm longer each... That plus the hubs are a little larger because they're from a Corona, and the rims are slightly more offset than the originals, but not much. Nowhere near as much as the ones on Pinky anyway... If I'm not mistaken the rims I'm running on Hal at the moment are 14x6 +20, the ones on Pinky I think are 14x6 +8 .
