Of course it's alright for you to stick around with Rollaclub... Where in Malaysia are you from?
-
Oh hey look, it's the "breaker sisters" :) GOOD LUCK, MEL!!! HAVE A FANTASTIC TIME!!! TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!!!

Yay for "proper" tools (well, really an old dodgy ratchet and the extension from my engine hoist...), managed to get the box out in just over an hour... Again most of my time was spent taking the top two bolts off, but it was much much quicker this time. So yes, box sitting on floor now, bellhousing's been taken off and cleaned, ready to put onto the new box once I clean that one up... Maybe tomorrow. Wonder how I can seal it better so it doesn't leak like the other two...

Exhaust is now on, 2" secondaries to 2.25" mandrel bent all the way. High flow cat, dogleg straight through muffler, spiral straight through resonator to a droop tip. All I'm missing now i the manifold gasket and the gasket for the secondaries (both have been sourced but not installed) and the exhaust is finished. Have started the car, but it still sounded very rough cause of all the exhaust leaks... Also missing 2 exhaust mounts, ran out of time and couldn't put them on at the exhaust place... Picking up a new (well, "new") gearbox tonight, will endeavour to fix exhaust gaskets tonight and maybe start taking the gearbox out... Really not looking forward to that... But gosh it looks sexy :D THANK YOU MR :) FOR TOWING THE CAR THERE :blinks: :yak: :) :) :)

Careful when using vice grips, they can damage the brake lines... Best to use proper brake line clamps, they aren't expensive.

That sounds a bit like my white Corolla... Fully adjustable everything on the front, completely stock rear...

Hmm, calmer now... Car is now sitting in the front yard, I had to drop the tailshaft because the gearbox is so seized it won't even turn in neutral. Have also lost ALL the oil in the gearbox (all 1.5L of it). Oh well... Have assembled doors, front guards and bonnet temporarily, car is now baking in the sun waiting for Mr Rob to come pick it up to go get an exhaust fitted... :) Then probably going to go and buy another gearbox and some bolts... Not really looking forward to taking the gearbox off with the exhaust on, a brief look this morning suggests the engine and exhaust will have to come back out before the gearbox will come out again...

I do? Why didn't I just buy springs from them then? Could have saved myself some money instead of my $150 springs...

Arrgh so f@$ked, every f@$king thing on the car is leaking. I have a petrol leak somewhere in the boot. My clutch slave cylinder is leaking in all directions. My brake line is leaking. Gearbox is leaking. Every freakin thing is leaking... And the worst part is that doing ANYTHING in the engine bay requires at least 2 people, with really really small hands and a million joints because there is just no f@$king space anywhere... Holding a screwdriver at the end of a pair of pliers in one hand and holding a spanner at the end of another pair of pliers on the other hand, while working blind is no fun. Spent half an hour just trying to get a hose clamp on, gave up eventually. *me looks at cut hands covered in oil, brake fluid and blood* *sucks* *whinge whinge* *i hate this car...*

Yours might have one of those import fronts or something (or maybe they did bring a few of those into Australia too). KE7x's came with a couple of different front ends over the years... Off the top of my head there was: - the one you have - the one with the squarish headlights - the one with the twin headlights - the one with the slanted headlights and i'm sure there's more...
-
matrxe: Pop the bonnet and look at the chassis plate, it will tell you exactly which it is. Not that it would really matter, as it's obviously a KE7x of some sort, and they're all pretty much the same :) Nice wheels by the way.
-
Hey Peter, welcome! I take it you need the chassis wiring diagram? Or the engine one? I don't have either, but might be able to source one, and if I can't I've got the 4AGE wiring diagram which I would imagine would be similar to the 4AFE one... Failing that, hey I converted my KE35 to EFI, maybe we can figure it out :)
-
Really depends on condition of them vs what sort of brand new shocks and springs you're talking about. If condition is unknown I'd be tempted to buy new, at least I know what they're like and what to expect.
-
Oh bugga, I'll be in Coffs Harbour. Oh well, maybe next time...
-
Nah I think mine will still stop faster :) Hehe Teddy: Seriously though, what you could do is jack your car up, see which wheel(s) are sticking. Then at least you know how many wheels are affected, then you can investigate more as to why it is sticking...

Give Anthony Kellam a call (07 38234440), he does very good work at a reasonable price. He IS a very busy man, can be rather hard to contact at times and definately has his work cut out, but like I said his work is good and his prices are very reasonable. He should be able to at least give you a ball park figure about how much it will cost you, even if he doesn't actually do the job.

Ah, one of THOSE sorts of Visa's... Everytime I think of Visa's I think of passports... I have a supercheap fire extinguisher and an autobarn one. Strangely the autobarn one is bigger (by 100cc), has a metal bracket, looks better made, and was cheaper. -

Interesting (the argument about vibration etc). I remember reading something about it in the 2004 CAMS manual but don't recall what it said. In any case I'm not in too much of a hurry to replace what I already have... -

$120 isn't bad. They have a dyno at the wreckers? Alsonville is a very strange town :) Why do you have a visa? Fire extinguishers are cheap, in fact I might be selling one. Perfectly working, but apparently isn't suitable for CAMS because it's got a plastic bracket. I haven't really looked into this yet, should probably give the CAMS manual a flick through... -
I love starting my car. It sound so awesome. Unfortunately my neighbours (and housemates I think) don't really think so... *brrm brrrm*

Well maybe you should do that :) -
See, that's half the problem... When I think of what's actually IN the car, it isn't anything flash at all... Stock 150000+k engine, stock rear suspension, stock drivetrain, tiny little drum brakes on the back, no LSD... Only the front suspension and brakes is anything to marvel at...

Yes but that requires you to go to that place and pay their prices everytime you do...
