  1. Why don't you get like an O2 sensor from the wreckers or something, get an exhaust place to tap a fitting on and get one of those Jaycar lambda meters? Then you'd be able to tune it whenever you want... I don't know how much an O2 sensor is (I got mine with my exhaust manifold which I paid $50 for), but the Jaycar lambda meter isn't expensive (I have one) and I can't imagine getting a fitting tigged onto your headers costing very much...
  2. Wow... As of next Thursday the car will owe me $10K... Not even on the road yet...
  3. Shite, I almost know how you feel - I've broken a few helmets inline skating, and been bed ridden for awhile (thought I broke my neck at first) after landing on my head, got thrown from a horse. Get well soon dude, don't worry about your bike. You live to tell the tale, that's the most important bit.
  4. White cars are actually one of the easiest to keep clean surprisingly. You go own a black car and come and tell me how much you hate keeping that clean... My car is still covered from top to bottom in mud from the weekend. I've even got mud in the door sills, and all up inside the guards, and in the engine bay. You'd think I took it swimming in a mud pool or something...
  5. Well, the gearbox is most definately stuffed, but at least I know the clutch works now. So after all that to get the gearbox in, and then out, and then back in again, looks like it'll have to come out again once I source myself another gearbox. Boy, 3 gearbox's just to get one car running!!! Put my primaries on the car and started up the car, rev'ed it to what I would be guessing would be about 3000RPM and slowly eased out the clutch, even with the rear of the car off the ground (and handbrake off obviously) the engine can't even turn the wheels over in reverse or 5th (the only 2 gears I have). Sucks. Also it looks like this one is leaking oil just the same as the one I sent away... When I tow the car up the slope on Thursday morning might try rolling it down the hill a little and see if the weight of the car will start the gearbox turning or something...
  6. *shakes head* welcome mickle
  7. Fuuuh, finally got my gearbox back in the car. Everything is there except for the clutch slave cylinder, one pushrod I have is a bit short I think, the other is too long and it's too late to work the angle grinder... Took me 2 hours this time to get the gearbox back in. Maybe I'm getting better at it :D Yeah right... 3 of the bolts are properly torqued up, the other is just tightened as tight as I can get the spanner... I can't even reach it with my fingers much less a torque wrench... I'm guessing the proper AE86 clutch pushrod is like about 80mm or so... Cause one of the ones I have is about 65mm (too short) and the other is about 90mm (too long) I got both my T50's for a grand price of $80. Neither of them really work though.
  8. Heh, I *think* I know who one of the previous owners of that car is :D
  9. That's just sad. I got pulled over once in my Excel, they followed me into a car park and parked me in, put the spotlights in my face (it was an open air carpark at night so it was dark), and interrogated me for more than half an hour. Asking stupid questions like "where are you going? Where do you live? Is this your car? Is that exhaust legal?" etc Didn't allow me to approach them or anything so basically I couldn't see their faces or anything, and then they told me to get back in the car and they left. Didn't catch their number plate or I would have reported them.
  10. Rear seats folded down??? What on earth is wrong with having your seats folded down? Taken out maybe, but folded down... That's just ridiculous. Does that mean that if you're going to the hardware shop to buy some planks and you fold your seat down then you should be defected???
  11. You can get pulled over for that?? You can also get charged for reckless driving if the officer decides he doesn't like you
  12. I never get done for speeding, I generally don't speed. I do sometimes get pulled over for not slowing down enough for corners though...
  13. Hmm, apparently the adjustment IS in the clutch pedal (between the pedal and the master cylinder). I can't see there being much adjustment there but apparently it's enough. The TA22 box also has adjustment in the slave cylinder end, but it looks like the AE86 one doesn't... Nick: Did you manage to find that box at all? I pulled my box out last night to change my clutch fork over to an AE71 one I got yesterday (would like another one though), bloody hell I hope I never ever have to take the gearbox out again. Took me 2 hours just to get the two top bolts off, there isn't enough space between the engine and firewall to get a ratchet or breaker bar or anything in there so it was there with a spanner turning the bolt like a fraction of a mm at a time... 3 hours later the box was on my floor... Tonight box goes back in. Should put a new throwout bearing on, but considering my time frame and the fact that even the box that's in the car is dodgy I think the new bearing can wait for my "good" box to come back...
  14. I've been let off a couple of times before in the Corolla... But I've been absolutely shafted more than enough times in the Lancer (*random* checks, talks, follow homes, interrogations... all this virtually weekly)
  15. How long is this supposed to be? I've got 2 lying around, one from something I'm not sure, the other from an ST115 and both are 65mm long... How are you meant to adjust them anyway? They don't seem to offer any sort of adjustment...
  16. I'm willing to help if I am free (which is not much these days), but like Justin - don't know too much. I have *some* tools.
  17. How did you come to this conclusion (about GTX2)? If GTX2 is so bad, what's GTX3 like? That's what I used to run my GSR on, and what's currently in Hal (el-cheapo oil until I know for certain I don't have any leaks and don't need to drop the oil for some silly reason)
  18. Purple fluff. You know you want purple fluff. It'll suit the fluffy dice :D
  19. What's wrong with GTX2? Hmm, maybe that's why Pinky is so rattly. Then again, Pinky currently has some sort of Shell oil in it and it's still as rattly. Same as when I had that Penrite stuff in it... No matter what oil I use Pinky is still rattly :D
  20. Why neon? What's wrong with fluffy dice? Long live the fluffy dice. Now you just have to get one of those Elvis things...
  21. I've heard some good things (and some bad things) about vinyl spray. I think if you do it well it should last a bit.
  22. Heh, or Nick and Justin could enter as the "Bajic Brothers" :D
  23. If I don't drive I'll most likely be nav'ing for Craig in PhatDat...
  24. Hmm, at this stage I won't be driving, I don't think Hal will be quite ready yet - even if it's on the road :D Unless I can get Hal on the road by very early next month I don't think I'll be prepared to take it out...
