  1. That Datto was a fun looking car. Rose jointed, adjustable everything. Had far too much power for it's own good, took off like a rocketship, and didn't need any persuasion to cut sideways when desired. So much fun.
  2. Nooooo, VG30DETT  Like this silly Datto 240K  See, perfect doriftor capabilities (and this was running Yoko A032R semi slicks too) Funnily enough, it didn't even once lap me in Pinky (32hp bog stock KE55 with Corona brakes, running cheapo $90 tyres). Lost me easily down the straight, but I caught up easily through all the corners. Then again, I don't think anyone lapped me at all, through the entire day, which was rather surprising... I suppose I was only out for 3 or 4 laps at a go (car kept overheating), but even then... A lot of the cars there that day had in excess of 200hp...
  3. Is it? Would my +40 (or was it 44?) 16x7 6 spoke Advanti Racing rims qualify as RWD then? If so, they are 4x114.3 so will bolt onto a Corolla  And they're for sale
  4. Tiger: Doesn't Advanti Racing make a rim that looks rather similar to those? I'm quite sure my ex-housemate used to have a set like them on his SSS Pulsar. No idea if they make it in a RWD offset though.
  5. One day, when I have more money, I will own one of these  Or, if I win a lottery maybe I'll buy a Stagea... *dream on* For now, I drive stupid Camry.
  6. Someone has been busy  Good to hear
  7. HEKTIK!!!
  8. I'm insured with Shannons too.
  9. Rollaboy: Do you mean East Coast Targa?
  10. coln72: Oh wow... that's nice  I want one too
  11. Thanks guys!
  12. re fuel module, must have been an earthing problem on the module. Now that you're removed it and put it back, new contact points, all good. Speedo out, is it consistantly out? Have you changed your diff anytime? Tyres? Wheels? If running on 3 cylinders, pull leads out one by one (putting them back before pulling the next) and find which cylinder it is. Once found, remove spark plug from said cylinder and see what it looks like. If it's got a heap of crap, wire brush, reinstall and see if it works. Else, try changing plug. If changing plug doesn't work, chances are plug not getting spark. Change lead, try again. Check dizzy cap, try again. Trace backwards until problem is found.
  13. If you had a wagon, I'd give you... two dollar! But because it isn't a wagon, I offer one dollar fiddy! Seriously though, yes I'd like one. No I have no money.
  14. If anyone here is entering (haha, yeah right ), don't forget that scrutineering is tomorrow evening!
  15. Heh, I actually *want* an auto. What's wrong with me, I don't know. Maybe someone needs to slap me around with a big fish  I really like the VT wagon, in dark blue, with the small wind deflector thing on the hatch (I think it's a factory option?), tinted windows, bling wheels, and twin chrome tips out the back. Mmm. And yes, I was driving behind one the other day just like that and just went "I WANT"
  16. Tom: Isn't there a guy who races a 4WD turbo one around Mt Cotton?
  17. I know *just* the car for you... (and oh, it's soooo perfect for someone like you ) ... a MightyBoy!!!
  18. Been done. Liberty motors go pretty well in them too
  19. Hehe, navigators get a bit that way don't they? :D To make myself feel more "at home" in the Sherrin Hire Mini, the first thing I did was went and bought a whole heap of velcro tabs, and then proceeded to polka-dot the interior with them  So I have somewhere to stick all my highlighters, my super cool pencil, my stop watch, and everything else  Nobody stuffs with my velcro tabs :)
  20. Brumby's are funny. They are so fundamentally wrong in so many ways. IE, they have torsion bars in the back, and if you wind them up stiff you get heaps of positive camber in the back (my neighbours Brumby has this problem). They also have their spare wheel in the engine bay. And, the handbrake brakes the front wheels. Hmm.
  21. For anyone who's interested, the early T50's (with the forward shifter) will bolt straight into a KE30/55 (and maybe KE20). Shifter comes out the correct spot, crossmember (with very minor modifications - enlarging the center hole) bolts on, tailshaft slides on. The later T50's (with the rearward shifter) will bolt into a KE70 et al, shifter comes out the correct location etc. Tailshaft also slides on, AFAIK. So, with a KE20 if you put in a later T50, you'll have to cut the floor for the shifter to come out.
  22. The guys at the wreckers must be so confused by now, since I keep buying bits off different cars
  23. SO TRUE!!! And yet some people *insist* on knowing what it was out of, and then proceed to try to convince you that it really wouldn't fit on your car (even though you've explained that necessary modifications have been made, and the old part actually came off the car...)
  24. T50 boxes have same input spline. This could be same as K motor? Not sure. Early T50s have same output as K40/50 (Corolla) box. Late ones have bigger output splines, hence you need a different yoke on the tailshaft. Late ones also have shifter further back. K40/50 boxes are similar in that early ones have shifter forward, later ones have shifter back. Not sure about splines. AFAIK there are 3 different types of T50: There is early T50, which has T bellhousing, small bearings, forward shifter with small output shaft. These came on TA22, among others. There is "in between" T50, which has T bellhousing, I'm not sure about bearings, probably small, rearward shifter, and I think big output shaft (but not sure). This came in T18, maybe others? Then there is late T50, which has A bellhousing, big bearings, rearward shifter, big output shaft. These came in AE71, AE86, among others.
  25. I drive club level motorkhana, khanacross, autocross, and the odd sprint here and there. Club level touring road events. I navigate tarmac rallies up to international level (Targa Tas). Well, I should probably say I've been entered to navigate up to international level, because my very first Targa (this year), we DNS due to unforseen circumstaces (if you were there, I was nav in the black Sherrin Hire Mini that went home morning of the Prologue). And if you were at Rally Tasmania I was nav in the yellow Sherrin Hire Mini that again DNS on the day of the Prologue... But I'll be there with bells on for Rally Burnie! Hopefully 3rd time lucky!
