My first ke30 years ago i had 14" rims from a corona on it with 185 tires. The biggest rim diameter i'd go would be 15" What would you call a "decent enough profile" ? My thoughts would be nothing smaller then a 50 profile, that way some flex and spring in the sidewalls is kept but its stiff enough for a handling bonus. 195/55/15 i think any bigger and it'll be overtired.

Wreckers is another option for the lights, not just the ke70 used those lights but other models as well. Hi-lux jumps to mind.

An old mate had the 2.6 triton and he went through about 3 heads with them cracking.

What i used on my old car (ke30) was nolathane on the castor rods, front sway bar, control arms and the shackles on the rear suspension (no rear sway bar). Everything else was rubber. Firmed up the suspension nicely but it didn't hurt the ride quality that much.

Ok so your stuck with using stock exhaust manifolds, but can you modify the manifold ? Can you wrap it with that high temp wrap stuff ? If you can then see if you can bore the manifold out a little, its cast iron it'll take a bit punishment. Do some googling on exhaust gas resonance or exhaust waves or whatever. Basically its where the exhaust gas will send a sound wave down the exhaust and at certain spots in the exhaust that wave will turn around and travel back to the cylinder and either kill the intake flow or help the intake flow. If you add "steps" into the exhaust you'll be able to tune the wave into helping the intake flow into the cylinder. Mind you this wave does effect the exhaust gas as well. Another thing is what are the winners doing to help them ?

Yeah, unless your thinking of DIYing it yourself with something like a 120grit flap wheel or something just to get rid of any casting dags and to port match the head and manifolds. How much experience do you have of driving a car ? There'll be a good chance that when you get pulled up by the 5-0, they'll notice your a P-plater, notice your driving a mod plated car and then ask for a tow truck. And then you'll be branded a "hoon" But all in all have a look on the FAQ. In my opinion i wouldn't bother with a port and polish, maybe just port match the manifolds and that'd be about as far as i'd go. You'd also want to be careful on your choice of cam, it might be a real pig on the street. Search the forum there's be at least one thread on the subject of k-cams. I'd be careful on how much you shim the oil pressure valve, too much pressure can be just as bad as not enough pressure. And don't forget to dial in the cam.

The 3k and 4k that i have sitting here have different bolt patterns for mounting the sumps. But the 3k i have is an early model (3k-h). The sump pattern could be a bit different on the later model 3k's. I think from memory someone mentioned of using a 3k sump on their 4k in a thread ages a go. And as for binning them i wouldn't do that cause there are a couple of guys on here that use the trusty 3k in their speedway cars.

Yep, and some of the most stupidest things they can think of at times, like not having enough fluid in the washer bottle or the washer jets not spraying onto the "correct" areas on the windscreen. A mate got one of those owner certified defect notices (the one where you fix the defect and send the paper work back saying its fixed to roadworthy standards) for his bonnet not latched down properly, so ol' mate catched the bonnet down properly and went to give to notice back to the cop who turned around gave him another two for a non-working blinker, a tail light, a warning on his back tires and a warning on the oil leak that was dripping on to the exhaust... Think it was rather funny that night cause the cop was only up the road from us and tire smoke has a different smell to burning oil.

Damn it now i'm wishing i had bothered with taking a couple of photos when i had my old 2 speed sitting next to the trimatic before i threw them out. But anywhats, the 2 speed is about the same length as the manual, wider then the manual but i'm not sure if its as wide as the trimatic. Did you get the shifter and tail shaft ? Have both sitting here if you want them.

I had one on my old twincam '82 seca factory fitted. You'll also find that most turbo vehicles will have one as well. Moving away from engine oil coolers a typical vehicle with an automatic transmission will have a transmission cooler, aka oil cooler. But most times it'll be inside the bottom end cap of the radiator to help to get the trans fluid up to temp. Unless the vechile does a lot of towing, etc, it'll have an external one fitted. You just can't have it sitting out the front in the open waiting for something to punch a hole in so it can dump all the oil or trans fluid onto the road and cause a road hazard.

Tell you the truth i'm not even going to bother wasting my time in getting some compensation back on them. They'll just drag their feet on it and i'll lose more then just a foot if i go to kick 'em. Some of the stories i've heard about them today with borrowing tools and equipment makes me feel very bloody lucky but pissed off all the same.

Yep, sometimes i wonder why i lend tools out to people I think i'm going to mount them on the garage wall, about the only thing that can be done with them. The thread on the bolts have been flattened out, i'm guessing the thread inside the nut things has been chewed out as well, both bolts are bent, one spring holder had been used for a hammer and the other one has been chewed out by the thread on the bolt and also by the hex nut on the bolt.... I guess its why they took over 3 months to pull their digit out before i got them back.

I don't think its ke30/55. Unless its an aftermarket thing
