  1. The valve does the same thing as the thermostat in the radiator You'll still need the valve in the race car, otherwise the oil will never get up to temp. Unless you do the same thing as what they do with the big dollar race cars and heat the oil/coolant up to temp before starting the motor.
  2. If you have an android phone you could try - Torque Pro - Does use a OBD2 connection for the data, but it also uses the gps and g-sensor in the phone. and then download Track Recorder - Its the Torque pro plug-in. If you have the phone setup on the windscreen you'll be able to video record the lap with an overlay of the google map and any gauges you have up on the screen. So very true on that, my garmin phone gets to about 1 - 2m accuracy, the girlfriends lg phone gets something like a 5m accuracy and the farther-inlaws gps hunk of junk can only get about 10m accuracy on a good day. The only good things about it is that its a big screen, takes a memory card, has bluetooth and it runs windows ce so i'm half tempted to nick it and see if i can get android on it.
  3. Phuck that, unless it was from overseas or the seller had their reasons (with a message) for taking that long before pulling their digit out of their brown-eye. As people can testify on here and ebay, when i sell something i like to move it quickly and i notify with a message of whats happening.
  4. Don't you mean a VW beetle with a spoiler ?
  5. Getting back to it. I won't be getting one, its a toyota which'll mean it'll be an over-priced bucket of bland metal. And i'll still have the same thoughts cause it'll have been thrashed by its drifto want-a-be owner.
  6. :poke: And this is from the man that hates boxer motors
  7. Having an oil cooler is legal, as long as its protected from getting damaged (eg - behind the grill and next to the radiator or behind the radiator). But you'll need a thermostatic valve to stop the oil from flowing into the cooler when its cold or below temperature. The only option you have of being able to stick the cooler out the front is of not having it connected up. But you'll still be getting attention from the rozza's
  8. Yeah, open and close. It'll make a clicking sound with power. The body is the ground and the wire is 12v. So just place the body on the neg terminal of the battery and tap the wire on the positive, if its working you'll hear and feel the solenoid clicking on and off.
  9. Spotto from the other day An easy on the eyes chickie babe turned up at home today Oh 69, My Wet Pu...
  10. Would be a real face palm if you put the clutch plate in backwards.
  11. Is the carby from an auto ? It could be the choke breaker keeping the choke partly closed, it needs vacuum to keep keep the choke open. Unless you want to hunt up an early 3k carby that doesn't come with all the emissions and possibly swap over the jets etc from the 4k. Could be the easier option
  12. If the car in question is the one in the avatar it'll be the jap diff. A close direct bolt in would be the borg warner from the ke55 (and later model ke30's). You'll have to swap the driveshaft over or at the least the flange that bolts the driveshaft to the diff, their different sizes. And depending on who you ask about the borg warner, it'll either be an upgrade or a downgrade. the next easiest to fit with a minimum of mods would the T-series diff from a ta22/ra23 celica, t-18.
  13. A pinch and a punch for the first of the month And no returns till the end of the month :P
  14. Sweet ! Still hate that grill though :laff:
  15. Thats cause their on the cross member. One each side about where the engine mounts are. If the car gets pulled over the pits, can you just imagine the looks you'll get when asked about the steering stops and you tell them you figured you didn't need them.
  16.
  17. With the ke20 arms you'll need a pair of Strut Adapter Bushings. The ke20's ball joints have a different taper to what the taper is on the ke55 steering arms. (As a side note - the taper in the steering arms are the same with the ke3x - 70, ae71 / 86, T-18, Corona, Celica.) My thoughts would be to go with the ke20 arms, use the adapter bushings and if you want more camber then grab a set of adjustable camber tops. How are you going to setup the steering stops that the ke20 arms don't have. The 20's have the steering stops on the cross member.
  18. Don't piss the Dwarf off :all hail: :all hail: :all hail: rob dixon They still have re-runs of "The Mole" on seven, its just that its on very late at night..

    Rians Ke70

The T6 is the design style of the cartridge. From memory the ke70 struts i have had the glad nuts like what your saying, i used a pair of needle nose pliers, a long screwdriver and a vise. Placed the bottom of the strut in the vise, the needle end of the pliers i jammed into the holes on the nut, had the long screwdriver acting as a lever between the pliers and the shaft and wrapped my hand around the shaft and pliers handle. Took a bit but i got them removed. And if its what i'm starting to think they could be, have a container on hand cause they'll be oil filled and not have a cartridge insert.

My god its a medieval weapon of war. Another idea is a monkey wrench on the gland nut and the bottom of the strut in a vice or vise verse. The inserts are T6 cartridges (44.5mm diameter). If you jump onto the Monroe site you should be able to download copy of their catalogue and be able to do a bit of cross-referencing.
  22. Jono's done the exhaust - he wanted it more "sporty" and the heater core blew out on him a little while back. Apart from that its going good.
  23. That'll be ke30nut (aka Jono)
  24. Don't have much 5k stuff. Just the flywheel, a carby, its hat thing so the filter can be placed elsewhere and a brand new head gasket (and a 4k gasket kit). Yep, and most of those hoons are at the other end of the street.
  25. :ninja: By the photos your just up the road from the Middle Ridge Village shops. Your just around the corner from me I have a crap load of stuff that i need to shift. I'd have to have a dig around everything to see what badges i have, but i don't have the strips apart from the chrome strips that go on the sills below the doors.
