About $120 off ebay. I think its a bit of a meh with the improvement was expecting a bit more since the rav4 is heavier.

Blankets done. See if you spot the speakers now. My "custom" dash mat The only problem i have with it is that it reflects on the windscreen :( So i might go back to the drawing board and make up a black one. And to finish it off, i got sick of the hole around the gear stick. So i made a boot up.

I read a little bit of that - mostly the first comment and it made me wonder what the Manufacturer to retail store mark-up is like ? Like, at my old job i was pretty surprised with the mark-up in prices on quite a few of the items. It wasn't a set mark-up percentage, ranged anywhere from about 20% - 300%. Like the Lenser P7, was thinking of getting myself one. For work to buy it in as a special order it was about $35 whereas for the customer the sell price was about $110. Kincrome tools was a little different. That little round work light (24 LEDs) K8027 - customer sell price was about $10, work would buy it in at $7. That also included the gst on the items at both ends - work buying the stuff in and then selling it on. How are they going to work the gst on stuff bought off the net ?? Ship the invoice with the item/s so that gst can be figured out. "Oh sorry sir but the reason why there's no invoice is cause its a gift from my aunt, urm, Fosters."

My 4age Definetly Needs Backpressure I Think
towe001 replied to ca18det_ae86's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
I think smelly needs a shower but before he can do that he'll need to relieve some of the back pressure on the pipes so that a fresh charge can get past the shower head before something gets burnt out. Fluid dynamics..... -
I'm waiting for the car wash photos  The old guy in the background "Dæven, han har en annen en"

My 4age Definetly Needs Backpressure I Think
towe001 replied to ca18det_ae86's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
Or the cat had collapsed. Mine did that when i had the seca and i couldn't rev it over about 2500 otherwise it'd miss and sounded choked. The five kay drive back home from memory used about a 1/4 tank of fuel as well. -
Have seen it done to an old datsun stanza. Made a nice burble almost like a V motor. Did have a bit of poke but guttless compared to after they went back to a single pipe. If you went to the trouble of setting the exhaust up like a v4 motor, having the extractor pipes length tuned and figuring out where to place the cross-over pipe along with its size. It should go alright. But alot of trouble, time and money to replace a single pipe, something that can be bought "off the shelf" so to say.
-
Why ? Generally on a four banger its a pointless waste of money and extra weight that has to be carried. It'll have more of a burble from the exhaust, if you have the pipes as a "4 into 2". Somewhere along the system have a "H" pipe or a cross-over pipe so that you might be able to regain some of the lost power. I think the word your after is "scavenging" not so much back-pressure. Besides, someones going to bring up that back-pressure isn't needed and then someone else will come back with "yes it is". If i remember my maths correctly, and i can't be stuffed hunting it up, the cross-section diameter of two 1 1/2" pipes would be just a little smaller than the single 2 1/2" pipe. Really the only time a twin system would be ideal is when the cost of fitting the twins takes up less room then that of a 4" 5" truck exhaust. But even then the area inside the circle doesn't change very much (if at all) when its flattened into a rectangle. Unless your just thinking of twin pipes after the muffler. Then thats a bit different and go for it, but don't waste your money on having a pipe either side of the car.

The Completely Unofficial Drunk Thread

How much would you be looking at for them ??

Out of those two i'd go the lancer in the VR-X with the sports-auto (can drive like an old man one day and drive like a hot headed tool the next) not the ES, you don't get the LS in the wagon. But go for the '08 and up, the programming on the fly-by-wire on the earlier models was a bit "dickie". It'd take a second or two from putting your foot down in moving off from the lights etc to the computer registering it and opening the throttle. The corolla is bland to say the least. I think, from memory, the corolla is a touch smaller as well. You only get a choice of either a 5 speed manual or 4 speed auto (no sports auto) and '06 was the last of the corolla wagons. We're thinking of the next car a subaru liberty or the outback in wagon forms or the forester. But we've had passing thoughts on the mazda 6. Something to remember - the size of the pram is going to dictate the size of the boot.

They, the government, just likes to push around the red tape. Like where the hell are you going to be able to get leaded petrol from ? Even aviation fuel, from what i know, is now green and doesn't have lead in it. I think they need to update the rules and laws from time to time. Like, did you know that its still illegal to drive your steam powered vehicle down the road unless you have a person walking in front waving a red flag.

I'm half way there :) Pulled a muscle today that i didn't think i would have been able to do whilst standing in front of the tv. Built up a damn good sweat doing it but :)

Crazy Johns and Vodafone. Not me, i'm with optus. Whilst not as good as phone coverage as telstra but its still a lot better then vodafail. Amber got conned into the htc phone. The itself is good so far, but the crazy johns after service and vodafail's coverage is shit.

One of the reasons i don't like low profile tires. I like the idea of some flex in the sidewalls. What makes it even worse with those phucker that don't have the lights on is that if you hit one (like as you come out of a side street) your in the wrong no matter how shutty the bad weather is. As a solicitor once told me - its only a commonsense rule. About the only thing you can do is to be careful and keep your eyes open. And to think just how many accidents could have been avoided if the lights had been turned on. The next thing on my pet hate list is parents that don't bother strapping in their kid/s. Saw one today while we were sitting at the lights. 3 year old in the back hanging her head out of the window.
