When you say low, how low are you talking? how many test did you do? and how many revolutions did the engine do? What I was always told was that you do your test 3 times and take the average of the 3 test. also to have some one turn the key for you, so that you can feel 3 pulses (compression strokes) before you stop. NOTE: I was training as a machinist with the oil test/ring test, do the compressing before and after putting the oil in. If you did not write down the results of the first test, redo the test and post the results. This will give me/us more info to play with Chris

You may find that the jets in the 3k carby are bigger then in the 5k. The only real difference that I found was the venturi chokes. I used a engraver and a wooden post to get mine out :P hope this helps Chris

My Biggest annoyance is that we Very Visable have a daycare centre on the corner of our street and Dickhead come barreling around the roundabout and end up on the grass outside the daycare centre. All the Mum's at our son's school who drive a 4x4 and park in the top carpark and just reverse out without looking, we have been near missed a heap and a few kids as well. Tell me what child going to a primary school is tall enough to see over the back of a 4x4????? The people who do 60km in the school zones give me the shits. My Husbands driving. I hate that he has to be in front of everyone all the time. He is always saying they are all going to dam slow. I personally don't care, as long as I get to where I am planning to go. Now I Ride a "Baby" Motor cycle (honda 250) , and I ride it like no one can see me. some people will over take me and the cut me off. This is normal till you get your big bike. But i have had 5 or 6 car pull out in front off me with out even looking and I have had to lock it up and swerve into oncoming cars. All of the cock heads in 4X4. ALL OF THEM 4X4 Not to sound like i only hate 4X4, I hate bundy utes.

ummm, I used a candle once. The stuff that I found to helps with glues, oils and silicones is carby cleaner.

WARNING WARNING WARNING These engines don't go into valve float, they will just put a valve into the piston. please don't rev past red line. I have seen 3 18rg and all 3 put the valves into the pistons (about 8000RMP) not to say don't get it, but head goes on it you are looking at $700 to a flat Grand to get it redone. hope this was helpfull Chris

you could go for the 3sge this thread is a little old but it covers most of the info you will need http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...129&hl=3sge you may need to stay under 2 litre for some events, so the 3sge or 3sgte should do. but as is the beams engine in the better one to go for. what is the diff out of? if it's a corona then it is 35mm longer if it is a ta22 celica or t18 is is only 10mm longer, so i would not worry :wink: my two cents Chris

I don't think that the rolla club should indorse dangerous driving, so we'll just have to "crumed sausage" the winner. I was thinking the biggest "cheap ass" repair job, but i don't want to award that to myself. what about the most moded and the award for the stock as a block? dirtiest engine bay I was thinking about making proper Rolla Club Certificates as well.

well, I did a test run today. The little deli has shut down, it's a poxy empty office thing now. so you'll have to bring your lunch. If you bring meat you can stash it in my esky.
