  1. Just out of curiousity, how are you going to fit the 6.5" splits in the front? Un-modded, the front door pods can only take 5" speakers, 6" definitely do NOT fit, let alone 6.5"
  2. I've got the KE55 Gregories as well, with the (rather limited, but it IS a carbie car after all) wiring diagrams in the back. I'd be more than willing to scan them, except they're half an hour away at my g/f's place, and I can't afford the time to drive out there
  3. Was just reading the 4AGE Engine Repair manual, the 4AGE is DEFINITELY non-interference, due to the indentations in the crown of the piston. Since the 4AGZE would be using the same head with different CR pistons, then it too would be non-interference.....in fact, would be even more non-interference (bear in mind this is pure speculation, I haven't actually seen a GZE piston)
  4. I'm 6'2" and fit in the KE55 fine, I just have to make sure the seat is all the way back and reclined slightly. Pretty comfortable, although a lot more knees-up than the AE102, don't have to worry about hands hitting thighs when using the steering wheel
  5. A cannon doesn't sound THAT bad behind a 4K, you just have to make sure it's a little one (is there such thing? I thought they only came in large, extra large, and Silvia) Our KE55 (with stock 4k) has a straight-through system to the rear cannon, and it sounds a heap better than most shitbox Lancers/Mirages/Pulsars etc you see running around with a cannon on a weedy engine
  6. The number of gears is hardly the be-all-and-end-all of performance. A lot of 5-speeds of the day were identical to their respective 4-speed compatriots, just with an overdrive added for cruising. Acceleration is absolutely identical....
  7. Looks like a diarrhoetic bird took a giant shit on your car Seriously, thats bad luck, I'd hate to see my pride and joy ruined like that. Little shit deserves all he gets
  8. Pretty sure in NSW you don't need an engineer's certificate for capacity increases less than 15%. Not sure what the regs are like in Victoria though
  9. I use Premium all the time, actually Ultimate whenever I can afford it, just to be on the safe side, even though the engine is completely stock. Never used the fuel additive stuff though, haven't seen a need as they were designed to run on plain unleaded from the start, just not in Australia
  10. I wouldn't use that list as the be-all-and-end-all, afterall it doesn't take into account sidewall height. A higher profile tyre is much easier to stretch onto a wider rim than a lower profile one. Sure, there is no real chance of putting a 185/40 tyre on a 7" rim, but a 185/65 can be stretched a fair bit more (more sidewall, you see). Heavier cars need wider tyres because they squash more, so if you stretch a narrow rim on you'll end up cornering on the sidewalls. A MA61 Supra is about 50% heavier than a KE55. As to having different width rims front and back, most people want to have matching wheels all-round, and most factory wheels (apart from supercars) are the same size all-round. Thus, if you want matching style rims, you probably need matching widths front to rear. And what about the spare? Do you carry a front or a rear, since you're not legally supposed to have different sized tyres on the same axle (unless it's a space-saver)
  11. There is nothing wrong with running 195s on a 7" rim, it is still possible to stretch 185s on there too.....Supras only have 225s standard because of the extra weight of the car, have a look on one and you'll see huge sidewall bulge. 195s fit just fine. As for 7" being too large for an early Corolla, I've got 14x7" MA61 mags all-round on the KE55, with 195/60 tyres, and no scraping or scrubbing at all, plenty of room in all of the arches too even at full lock. 205s are the standard fitting on new 6.5" and 7" mags, with low sidewall height, so the added sidewall of a 60 profile tyre means that you can run a narrower tread without worrying too much.
  12. The front bar looks different to all the Novas I've seen, however the indicators do appear to be common (inner end is rounded, not angled). All Novas I've seen have had the "fish-mouth" grille, look like this one:
  13. GTiRs are dogs through corners (very front-heavy), gearboxes are quite weak, imported and turbo so insurance is a nightmare.....
  14. There have been a few 10x diesels imported into Australia, with the AWD too (I think a guy on Twincam had one at one stage), pretty sure they were Japanese market not Euro
  15. Pretty sure there never was an AWD ZZE sold here, but there definitely are ones overseas. That being said, the Ae10x also had an AWD sedan variant, not sure about the 11x and 9x (apart from the 95), but they are very rare here. To the OP, the Group N-P rally Corollas use the running gear from a GT-FOUR Celica, nothing Corolla about them (including the 3SGTE engine), so a lot of custom work is required
  16. I much prefer the square-light model too, plus it's easier to get aftermarket lights as they're not sealed-beam (so H4s just plug in). Billie seems to be a bit of an oddball though, probably due to it being an SE, as it has non-adjustable headrests (although the front seats are now cloth CS items), rubber-capped front and rear bumpers, both things which seem to be more common on KE30s (and I'm pretty sure they are stock, and weren't fitted down the track)
  17. Appears to have SXV10R Camry headlights (which explains why the headlight protector and bonnet protector part numbers are different from the standard 102), front bar similar to the FX-GT but without a lip, and a few other different features (bar the obvious sheetmetal ones)
  18. The 5-door Sprinter is a pretty rare beast (I've seen maybe half a dozen, max), and a lot of parts are "slightly" different to your average ADM 102R. I'm pretty sure the Sprinter was a European-spec model, hence it came with the Euro lights, front bar etc. However, it might still be worth-while checking that ADM parts don't fit, even though they might be different part numbers.
  19. Toymods has a topic running on this at the moment too, pretty interesting ideas about how to take care of the cameras (most of them against Toymods posting policy, but that that doesn't people)
  20. Not too shabby, although if I wanted a Mitsu/Chrysler of that era I'd have to go a Galant
  21. Considering the OP said it was an 1984 CS sedan, I'm pretty sure that makes it an AE71 and not an AE82. I highly doubt front bars and skirts etc will carry over easily....
  22. Apart from the rods and crank shitting themselves at 7500rpm......and the rev limiter too stopping the fun at around 6500
  23. It's just funny even without any alteration. A lot of people think that it's a photochop, but I can say with 100% assurance that it is real (there are two of them actually, one on each of the main ways into Branxton, up the Hunter Valley about 30 minutes from my place)
  24. Just a note, the BEAMS never came out in the IS200, only the Toyota Altezza (same shape, but different model). The IS200 had the 1GFE 2.0L straight 6 in it.
  25. I've got them on Billie too, didn't get any nuts when I bought them but the standard KE55 ones bolted up fine, no hassles since
