  1. I know- I know. I am enjoying the beater look right now. I think making it all glossy would look dumb with the big dent in the rear. Once I get that sorted ill start on visuals.
  2. That's a sweet car. Its quick AND the full interior is nice. Looking forward to seeing more of this.
  3. wow. Nice job so far. I can't wait to see it all painted.
  4. Sweet wagon!
  5. Good work. Car looks good in that color. I am looking forward to seeing what you do to it. Take some gloss black to those wheels. :y:
  6. My corolla is now upgraded from garage space taker, to commuter. Now I feel that i can justify spending more on it. Pics because I like them:
  7. Here is how it did at the smog shop. The guy first told me it would probably fail. his manager came over and made him re test it when he saw the CO%. He then laughed and told me it smogged bet
  8. That's a good looking car. What year is it? The only sporty-ish corollas we get here is the S models. Its the regular model with a body kit. Maybe I shall import one of these when my 07 S dies.
  9. My smog report came back... Aladeen. :) :D :( :) :( :|
  10. I'm near the fresno area. I want sr5 rims for the same reason. if you want to sell or if you find another set lemmie know. I have a set of 13" honda rims and the stockies on my car to cut up. SR5 deep dish would look nice chromed or powdercoated.
  11. YEEEEESSSSS! I love your car! I have followed your thread on 3tc, but they wont let me join. Glad to see more corollas in CA. What did you do with those stock steel wheels?
  12. http://www.webercarbsdirect.com/Toyota_Weber_Carburetors_s/41.htm or ebay
  13. Means you know your MA61's!
  14. Well ... if you have access to a letter / number punch kit you can make any Weber carb look like the one I have. Keep the stock air cleaner on top and pass the sniff test and you would be good to go.
  15. A Weber will help with the richness. The only down side is that the smog legal Webers are no longer made, and are nearly impossible to find. I happened to find mine on Ebay mislabeled. If you went with another Weber, It will make the car run great, but they are not smog legal. Your plans are a lot like mine. Get it legal before major mods.
  16. Sweet! another TE31. Looks like a clean start. What are your plans? You have EGR, so its newer than mine. AC too!- nice. Carb- I had the same issue with the original carb. I could make the car run perfect; so smooth that you could set a wrench on the valve cover and not be worried. The problem was that it was fine at idle, but once the RPM climbed it richened up. I scored a CA legal weber. If you figure out how to get the original carb going fill me in.
  17. Here is what I got on the MA61's: I will make front coilovers. I will probably use https://technotoytuning.com/toyota/te37 or something like it. I am a DIY guy, So I may just gather parts and do it myself. I am undecided on the rear. I am thinking of using the leaf springs with blocks. Adding a panhard rod and 2 lower links to help locate axle, but if I go that far, I might as well just 4 link it. Who knows.
  18. I got 7.5" from inside of either lip. Ill check again when i get home.
  19. I have been getting some work done. All 4 wheels are painted and cleared. I ended up putting a clear on them. it added a glossy appearance, but I'm ok with it. Here they are complete: I am able to get the car in the garage to work on it now, so thats a plus. I mocked up the rims on the car. Rear will fit PERFECT. I am going for a filled out wheel well and the rear can't get any better than this: The front are close. They stick out less than an inch out of the front gaurd. These are 7.5" wide wheels, and I will run a 185-60-r14 Falken Ziex ZE-512. I should have a little stretch going on so they might tuck in nicely. There she sits until i beat the dreaded California SMOG!
  20. Just read through the thread. Nice back story. Looking forward to seeing this new setup on the track. your car makes beige look good!
  21. Wow. you're not waiting around. Are you going to put a small fin on the back below the rear window? I think they are kinda shapeless without something there.
  22. Engine looks a little rough, but the rest of the car looks like a nice start. Body looks clean and straight from the outside. Where and how much rust do you have? Look forward to seeing progress.
