Hi, When you say striker you mean latch on door or the part on the car that it latches to? When you re-pin your hinges and attach them I put them on the door had top and bottom hinge lose but attached to the car and my bolt the latch locks to on the car in the middle position. Then I shut the door made sure it was square it was crawled into car from other side and tightened up the hinges from the inside takign it slow making sure it was lined up. Now my doors swing nice as and latch perfectly. I also machine up Teflon bushes to re-pin my hinges with and man there nice to swing now. Cheers Cameron

Hi, Your 6 leafs where are they? Front or rear? As in my KE15 it is stock suspension and it runs 4 leafs in the rear packs. My spare diff with leafs still attached stock again runs 4 leafs. Old KE11 I owned was stock and ran 4 leafs. So pretty confident it has had leafs added. Cheers Cameron

WOW overrated. Now that is a find. DO you have all the other parts but teil lights etc? Could be hard to source if it isnt complete. But good point to start. Will need a bit of cutting a massage on the gear box tunnel to fit a T50 I belive. Will be a fast puppie. Going to make it a sleeper? Also ill PM about the sale for the KE17 interested :y: Cheers Cameron

Rob I like your Stahlwilly roll cab VERY NICE :y: Pic below of my tool box. Every one at work had a blue or red one and me being me had to be different. So I de-badged mine and chrome plated it as you do :lolcry: Pics before it got filled. You will notice what looks like a few "rough" spots on the plating. This is the crap metal underneath that caused this I didn't have time to polish it all to make a even finish. But for what you pay theer made of the crap est steel going. Mine was full of rust under the poweder coating..LOL But that's all gone now But the tool box is now sporting a boring red no name roll cab under it to for more space. Cheers

Yeah my KE30 is like that Jip was built when KE55 had started so lots of people say oh I like ur 55 when actually it is a KE30. but the corolla range when you read this book is weird to see actual how much the moedls crossed over between transitions. The book list the model of car and year and VIN number range in order of the makes. eg. Go to corolla it goes from KE1X to 2X etc showing VIN and model in the range in order. But... The KE38 wagon last run was in 1980 with VIN starting at: KE38-003360 But it doesn't list an end one. This wagon looks 100% like a KE55 sedan but in wagon form. Now the previous run of the KE38 looks like a KE30 and not a 55 like the 1980 model. But in the book a few cars back it list the TE72 which started in 1979 with frame number TE72-0400092. So it shows that toyota was still making KE38 when the KE55 range was in full swing so they had KE55 fronts and that but ran KE38 on the identification plate so weird they didnt just call it a KE58. And the TE72 was all ready in production when this was happening. Its weird how the models rolled out the factory line. It is a good Book to see that. The book is called: Model Identification. Has TOYOTA genuine parts symbol they use all over some pages and the synopsis on the book says it si for the professional to quickly identify a Toyota appearing on Australian roads to assist in correct ordering of parts. So it list a picture type eg. KE1X then some more in depth info like auto manual etc and then VIN number range of that run. Kinda cool. So list corolla sprinters crowns every Toyota handy to have.

There was a 66 very late in the year I belive. But in this book I have from toyota it doesnt list it at all. Maybe there were a few kinda made KE10-000001 etc in late 66 but had 67 stamped on them. Toyota made a book with all models and the vin numbers and which year the car was in. I have this book. So I know what is typed above is very accurate. Cheers Cameron

EASY. All KE rollas you can tell year of make by the VIN number. KE1X series. the stock KE10 sedan models made in the year of 1967 go from KE10-000001 to KE10-260000 KE10 made in 1968 to 69/early 70 go from KE10-260001 to KE10-412001 Also in the 69/early 70 erra KE11 starts at KE11-000001 now the date in my toyota book isnt listed for KE11 ending as it goes into KE20 so not sure on the last vin of a KE11. Also have all the vin numbers and dates for KE16/15/17/18 etc you name it got them all. So your vin of KE10-24XXXXXX puts it in the year of 1967. Easy Cameron

camerondownunder88 replied to KeRoLLin's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
DONE... Going to super cheap on pay day going to see what bushes I can order..LOL HAHAH Felix I know what you mean about not wanting to sell the bush kit. If you saw the hoard of consumable bits I'm sitting on for the 15 people would scream..LOL But I know when I got my KE30 done at pedders earlier this year. They do a rear spring eye bush kit for KE1X was in there book. Might have to see what they got. Cheers Cameron -
Ke10 Tie Rod Ends And Bushes

On the topic of consumable parts for a KE1X series. A few weeks back I placed an order for rear shackle kit from Fulcrum part number: SPF0049K and they also no longer make this kit and they had none in stock. So like the idler arm kit which I tried to order again they have stopped making it. Also I went back to the shop yesterday to see if he could get my parts and he couldn't. So that info is current as far as I know they have discontinued the fulcrum range of KE1X bushes. BUT plenty of those front spring eye bushes in stock which are to big..LOL I think the only way to find these bad boys now will be to search surplus stock and that. Cheers Cameron -
KE15 fingers crossed will be on road in near end of the year so Ill try to get you a photo this year of it to show in callender. Cameron

Will A T50 Fit A Ke55 4kc (1.3l)??
camerondownunder88 replied to Evan G's topic in General Mechanical
Pics / more info / link to KP61.net how do we convert a hydro oen to Cable very interested Boost + K Cheers Cameron -
Few changes on KE17 they had rear vision mirror on drivers door, 1200 badge, and got a 3K that is off top of head think there are more. Also since they were made later they could have a late model KE1X front end guards lower indicators bumper etc. Can be quite a few changes. Also an original K motor has a lighter flywheel, original clutch cover has 60lbs more clamping pressure, Bigger cam in engine, higher compression head, water outlet for manifold heating under inlet/outlet port on cyclinder 4, no PCV gear, On back of moor the bolt lay out for the rear flex plate etc is different (I had to do a lot of stuffing abotu to get a 5K to drop into mine due to this easy fix but), engine number is in front of dizzy not behind...etc quite a few differences between a KE15/17 K motor and all other K motors. So hope that info can help. Feel free to ask if you need more. Cheers Cameron

Ke10 Tie Rod Ends And Bushes
camerondownunder88 replied to KeRoLLin's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Felix. Can you machine those larger KE2X items down to the right size? Cheers Cameron -
Easy to find a switch. I forget the thread in a K thermo stat housing think it was about M15 X 1.25mm I think not 100% sure. But I went to a wrecker and every second car has this thread and a sensor similar jsut get any sensor that fits and switches right. Some switch using 2 terminals, others switch to ground etc has to be right type also some turn off when hot so don't want fan going off when car gets hot..LOL But you can also buy them new here still in Australia I did the other week for $20 AU. So try a local parts shop. Cheers Cameron

Ke10 Tie Rod Ends And Bushes
camerondownunder88 replied to KeRoLLin's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Hi, Tie rod ends etc hard to find. But As for idler arms why replace. The old KE1X idler is kitable. http://www.fulcrumsuspensions.com.au/superpro.html The Link above they sell bushes that will do rear leaf springs and also the kit for the idler arm. can't go wrong as for tie rod ends inners outers. Has anyone tried KE2X inners and outers and centre adjuster tube so the threads match? This could be an option BUT I think the taper on the ends is different and it will flog out your other suspension components then. More reserch required. Cheers Cameron -
Si, Some KE came Stock with thermo fans so Id keep it this is a stock one I can see the stock switch on the motor. Id say the thermo fan could be dead. There cheap a aftermarket one will do fit easy. I had issues with my KE30 over heating a while back turned out it was just a worn out radiator and the fan was running etc and still over heated so when doing the fan id even flush the radiator system will also increase its cooling efficiency. Cheers Cameron

WOW $80 for 300mm long rod not cheap..LOL I have all the skills to machine stuff. I have machined Teflon before does it act similar? But My plan is to use all new bushes in my KE15 and stiff I want to tune the stock suspension as no one has really done it here before and I think it has potential for more directness with out going over board. So by the looks of it molding my own is useless. Looks like I might have a lot of cross referencing to do to find one of the right size that fits if not Ill draw a few up adn machine some rod. Cheers Cameron
-
Cool ill have a look a lot of you guys seem to think machine down prob easier than moulding saves making the mould..LOL But I know moulding poly-U (easier to type) is a 2 part mix 50/50 ratio set over night DONE. If I was to make a fair amount of these id go mould but for now I might machine. Do we know if pedders etc or noltech people sell raw stock of there bush material? Cheers Cameron
-
Hi, Link kinda helps. It more shows you cutting down larger ones to fit. I want to MOULD my own. If the bushes are jsut urethane it si a 2 part mix I can pour cold and mould my own new KE1X bushes. As I got soem original Toyota bushes from Japan the other day and I want to use them to make a mould then I can re make them from an original. Also are you sure there urethane? and not Polyurethan as I though poly was the hard one... Might have to make soem phone calls. So more or less has any one heard of peopel moulding there own bushes? Good ro bad results. As the main bush I need for my KE15 is LCA so kinda critical to get it right..LOL Cheers Cameron
-
Hi, A lot of us KE1X owners find it hard to find bushes for our cars and if we want the modern Nolathane bushes we can't they don't make a whole kit for a KE1X So I was wondering plastic is easy to mold usually. So can I DIY bushes and also what type of plastic are those red Nolathane bushes made from? Cheers Cameron

Increased Rocker Ratio On A K Motor ?
camerondownunder88 replied to Doogs's topic in General Mechanical
I once saw a K motor with Mini roller rockers. BUT mini run a 1.2 ratio so look into it but they can be grafted onto the motor. I briefly saw this car at a gathering in my town once he had spent a lot on it and for me I wouldn't bother with roller rockers. Even the TRD 3K/4K doesn't have roller rockers. Cameron -
Hi, I got my brake lines from BPA...Brake parts Australia. They make there own line of parts and sell stuff clutches to based in Brisbane.... That was trade price but. Cheers Cameron
-
Hi, can't tape brake lines they are hydraulic lines and run at very high pressure. One on my LE30 popped the other day. Cost me $20 for new lines for front left and right wheel. CHEAP and it is BRAKES safety comes to mind... go to a mechanic he will fix it for you not expensive either. Cameron

Those steering wheels and tacho dash were optional in a KE11......so not sacrilige..LOL Nice score but :bash:
