am i going to have to go to and aftermarket ecu straight away? (i assumed that i will because it will now have electronic egnition) and i wasnt planning on just slapping it together, i was going to take the time to work everything out. My teacher is a boiler make with alot of experience (ie as it stands he works for people in his spare time and doesnt do any jobs that pay less than $80 an hour) he is rather sort after by people who want things done right and from the way he was talking today he had done 1 or 2 of these before (not for a 4k)

nah id really like the tuneablity of efi and plus the fact that a low psi supercharger or turbo setup would be easily done with efi. I will show him the fuel rail but no doubt ill get the "yea i can make one of them, they are a piece of piss to make". can i just basically get a bit of metal thats long and has hollow and drill wholes where i need the injectors and weld it up or what?

yes i was just looking at how hard it would be to make the manifold. and I'm assuming it would be easy for a boiler maker welder to make a custom fuel rail?

but what are they going to go for $200-$300. Why bother when i could get one made for $150?

Hey hows it going, After talking to my APD teacher at school today whos is also a boiler maker welder he told me that it would be a "piece of piss" to make an EFI manifold for a 4k-c corolla. He informed me the that it is also a "piece of piss" to weld cast alloy despite some peoples opinions. What would i need to make an efi manifold? a Throttle body? what else. Could i find an efi manifold from a similar engine (similar capacity) and adapt it (grapht) to suit a 4k? P.S he also told me the story of the corolla he used to have, but he had to get rid of it because he had to many problems with the garbage man trying to pick his car up ;)

hey mate what other mods are you running? is it just a stock 4k-c with a blower? are you running an intercooler etc? what did it set you back?

I herd a rumor that in Tasmainia it could remain 12months but they would make you do 150hours miniumum!!! But as it stands at the moment in Tasmainia most people just do around 40hours and lie about the rest. (to make it up to 50hours)

Just thought I would mention that Brooks High School's auto workshop was broken into and they have stolen alot of stuff. I will get some more information from my dad about what was taken at a later stage (ie tomorrow or the next day) just thought i would say this so nobody buy's anything thats been stolen. And I'd also just like to say to the people that did it if for some reason they are reading this: Launceston is a small place, they will find out who did it and then you will be in alot of shit.

car has just had serivce with new coolant, oil, oil filter and air filter haha and we unbolted the car after the first muffler sounded wikid :(

hav u though about the gtrs? they were perpusley(i cannot spell) designed by hks for the sr20 and they will give you the best response for smoking vk commodores or the odd coona but the gtrs is pretty pricey ($2500 was the best price i could find and that was just for the turbo)
