What Are These Pistons And Carbie?
flamingheads replied to flamingheads's topic in General Mechanical
32/36 (I know this one) DGV 5A or maybe DGV 65A or DGV G5A EDIT: I just googled it and it's a webber. This leads me to assume that it would give me a significant performance increase. Would that be a correct assumption? Also any ideas if those pistons are stock or not? -
$3000 to $4500 if its in decent condition I reckon. It really depends what someone will pay for it at the time. Put it on here if you want to sell it. I assume you put all the money, hard work and love into it so what's it worth to you? That's the real question.

Thees pistons are from a 3T engine. Are they anything special or just the standard items? Also what is this carburetor, I believe it goes onto the 3T as well? And would it be worth putting on in place of the the standard one? My engines only mods are extractors, exhaust and these pistons.

Seriously you don't need any court stuff unless the guy who was driving is a total arsehole and denies he was driving the car at the time. It's just like if you're driving your mums car and you get a speeding ticket, you just inform the finers of who was actually driving at the time and they'll send that person the fine. If you have or can get the guys address then it's very simple. Otherwise you should talk to the cop shop or whoever to see what the best way of getting the fine re-appropriated is. It's not a big deal. If you did the whole stat dec thing couldn't you get in trouble for not getting the car re-registered in his name or at least de-registering it in your name? I imagine that's not a very legal thing to do and you would be responsible for it from a legal perspective.

I bought some from super cheap and did 2 different coloured lines. They worked perfect, never peeled or faded and looked factory. Just make sure you clean the surface first.

4AG KE70 Pannel Van for sale They've been coming up pretty regularly on there. Keep a look out and you'll find one.

I always wondered if you attached the spacers to the wheel and the studs were long enough if that would be ok, although still being illegal. It would at least make you less likely to be caught.

I had a similar thing happen but with a red light camera. On the back of the form or somewhere is a section to fill out if you weren't driving the car at the time. Just fill that out and all you need is the guys address and maybe his name, you don't need any of his details. Post it back to them and they'll send him the fine. No worries.

I was thinking a similar thing yesterday. From my basic knowlege 4AC has more hp stock, apparently making it the obvious best choice in stock form. It also has a bigger capacity, which implies it would have more potential to be tuned but I've never seen a hard tuned 4AC. Is this because 4Ks are more tunable or do people just hate 4ACs for some reason. I'm sure this has all been answered before but I just thought I'd broaden the question of the thread. I appologise for my noobity and lack of using the search function.

Ok cool. Apparently theres nothing else in Australia with the same diff so I'll just have to see what happens with it. Thanks for the help.

I know they're not the same car but every single person I've talked to calls it a tercel, I thought it might've just been like the next model Tercel that didn't get the name or something. With those codes it doesn't sound hopeful that they'll match up eh? Also the diffs off an 86 model. Was this the year that they changed over, meaning that if it was a late 86 model it would fit? I know I could just go out an check but I don't want to drive all the way out there and find out its not what I want.

I've got a 1989 AE95 AWD corolla (also known as a Tercel and an SR5). Something in the rear is noisy (probably the diff) and a cheap rear end from an 1986 tercel has come up and I was wondering if it would fit on? Anybody know?

I reckon make sure everything will connect up and fit and just put it in. If there's any problems it wouldnt be too hard to chnage stuff over when its in the engine bay.

Thats crazy. I wonder what kind of hp it has. But if you were going to do something like that why wouldnt you build a drivable one? -
WHich reminds me Top Gear is on again and I missed it :)
-
Id say between 0 and $2000. But you could probably find one with a good motor & gearbox & shit body for under $500 if you look for a bit. It just depends whats around and where you look.

Limited Slip Without Changing Housing

Is anything happening with this? I'd be pretty interested in on of these beasts. -
sweet jesus that is tragic. it actually looks like someone ripped open the side of the truck in a fit of thirstyness :ninja:

How much are they? My limited experience with wheels at wreckers is that they aren't very cheap and not where I'd go to find the bargins.

Awesome. Picking it up tomorrow and I'll probably try it out on the way home ie. take it on some interesting roads. I'm excited. That short shifter sounds like a pretty good idea... if by short shifter you mean cutting the shifter shorter because I'm not buying a quick shifter kit. ANyway I'm excited. Kebin, chuck me a link to your car so I can have a look. I had a quick looks and couldn't see one. And now I'm off to bed.

Well it sounds like wheels and maybe an air filter will be the extent of the mods and I'm going to have to learn to shift better. The problem is I want to paint the bonnet gloss black (cause the gloss has come off and it needs a repaint) but I can imagine that making it harder to sell in the future. Anyway I shall ponder these questions as I save my pennies for the paint. I'm so broke...
-
Your avatar looks strangely familiar... I guess I'll get it then see if I want to keep it an mod it or drive it and upgrade or whatever. But right now I'm thinking of wheels, air filter and gloss black bonnet, cause the paint there needs to be done anyway.

I'm a new member here. Just thought I'd stick my new beast up. It's my brand new 1988 TOYOTA COROLLA AE95R SR5. I'm the third owner and the first 2 owners were very caring. The interior is pretty much perfect and apart from the bonnet and a spot on the roof the paint is perfect and it goes good and all that. The 4AFE is nothing special in performance but it's a lot nicer than the 4AC in my last car. These are the only pics I've got at the moment. It's got air Con, Cd Player, Central Locking, Electric Mirrors, Power Steering and Tinted Windows. I've got a set of 15" wheels I'm hoping will fit on. I've heard power is hard to come by in the F department so I'll probably just get an air filter and muffler for it for now and see what happens in the future.
