  1. Someone here in Australia might be able to send you a bellhousing if you are stuck. Looking cool. Welcome!
  2. I guess I have to put a white shirt on and dance to find out. I'm thinking about rebuilding this car in the nanna shell I was gonna use for the 2azfe build, then building the 2azfe car into a panelvan with some business livery so that I can tax deduct the whole conversion and all its expenses. A van would be good for client visits where I have to collect ovens or the odd small cabinet. Or I could collect hardware in the rain and just generally have a more practical vehicle than the sedan for work duties. So I guess I'm sort of interested in an AE71 van now. Nitephyre, what happened to yours?
  3. Ive now ordered/bought some new wiper arms, a new rear brake hose, a new throttle cable and a new pair of black license plate lights. Hopefully its genuine parts like the ebay add says. We will see. Hmmmmmmm. Ive bought genuine bits off of him before so i hopw so. Although he was advertising aftermarket tailights as genuine, but he confessed when asked. In for a penny in for a pound.
  4. Sierra are the worst shock option ever for corollas. Buy short stroke ae86 shocks or failing that the commodoore ones as above. If your too low for them raise it. Either that or spend some more money and get something made in a spring thats perfect for what you want, then buy good adjustable shocks for them too. Upgrade front struts to 2 inch and you have a lot more choice.
  5. For sure, fresh lights and chrome. Straight bumpers, just beat out the dent don't even bog it. Sick wheels, nice suspension. Clear coat the rust. Then polish the turd.
  6. Leave the body as is and drop it low and mod the car, motorfix style! I like the look of some cars 'as found'.
  7. When wheel nuts are loose, in general they only rattle when you are costing, once you accellerate of brake they lock against the studs and don't really move or make noise any more. Been there, done that. My mates Cordia had a front wheel with one nut left about 2 turns on when we finally convinced him to have a look at it. He was about to hit the highway too. Scary stuff.
  8. My mechanic has a little slide hammer thing with a tiny steel hook on the end. Took about 3 well placed taps and it was out.
  9. No but Terry (mungi mods) found out the same way unfortunately. I almost had to drive out to find out but luckily rang terry for the info. I had had my girlfriend check the Willowbank page to see if its still on, and she said yes. As Ive observed with women hundreds of times, they cannot be trusted to do the simplest most obvious tasks unless they have some kind investment in it and it directly will inconvienience them if its done poorly or wrong. I mean instructions as basic as "go to the Willowbank homepage and see if there is a big black box on top saying that its cancelled" can't even be followed then there is no hope for them. I don't personally have the time to go this week. I might suggest we all as a group, now aim to go there on the 7th of July. Does that work for everyone?
  10. I noticed my jack handle would swing around in the boot and hit the side panels sometimes on hard right handers... Just another possibility. This may be one of those occasions where someone posts a random question then never comes back...
  11. For christs sake mate, could you give us any less information. Does it tap faster as you increase speed? Is it on bumps? Is it random. Faster as you speed up = something attached to a rotating assembly such as tailshaft or wheels/brakes. Only on bumps would mean there is something wrong with the suspension. Random tapping might mean there is something loose and flapping in the wind.
  12. Yes it will help the resonant pulsing. Its volume will determine how effective it is. It is primarily something people do to make there itbs legal and quieter. It can have the added bonus of improved air filtration through the use of a proper panel filter. Open pods and velocity stacks are for homos really. Old technology. The most powerful stock rwd silvertop I have ever heard of mad 100kw atw, and it had a modified factory plenum chamber on it. I may point out that Anthony Kellam told me this so its most likely 100% bullshit and then some.
  13. Been thinking about converting to Wilwood pedal arrangement thats all concealed under the dash. Throwing the booster away. Then running a sweet airbox over the throttles to make it a bit more silent. Hmmmmmmmmm. Not a very expensive exercise, but a little tricky.
  14. Could always find the kids who nicked your shit and beat them until the car works. I know how you feel man, persevere it will work at some point!

  16. Did they put any crud in the fuel when they fked with it? Have you tested the lead that runs from the centre of the dizzy to the coil? Did it conduct?
  17. These are the kinds of questions you usually answer prior to purchase. Have a look and see if they fit, and if they have the strut top bolt in the same position as the ke70 strut top. If they do they will fit. They will make the spring hit the body if you move them too far. Most people run smaller diameter springs on a coilover setup if they have camber tops.
  18. So I got a lot done in preparation for the test and tune only to see it is cancelled tonight. I have the new rims on the front and the tyres on the rears ready to go. Shift lights hooked up and the wheel alignment done. My backyard wheel alignment wasnt too bad. Camber was 2.1/2.5. Caster was near enough to correct, and the toe was way off, 6mm out, and it was pointed slightly left.
  19. Cheers, just came to post the same thing.
  20. Did you test it? they fail at any age.
  21. Yes indeed and they look as great as the others. I'm having tyres swapped around first thing in the morning. Then I need to do something with the gaurds if I'm actually going to use them at Willowbank. I'm getting a wheel alignment last thing Wednesday arvo before heading out. I'm using my 35% worn front tyres on the rear, and the new pair that Terry put on the new rims on the front as steerers. I like the idea of the rears being the softer of the two tyres and also the smaller diameter seeing as how its worn some more. Should look phat! Cheers Terry for dropping over the wheels for me. Legend. So tomorrow its tyres swapped around, then finish the shift lights off and maybe even have a launch light too, see how it goes launching at 5500rpm. :jamie: Beerhead I wanna race that Camry!
  22. I'm there, with new shoes. I am out of time to paint panels it seems. Oh well Terry will take video so come on down!
  23. Not as much as I had with the cutties and its not enough. I don't know about a measurement.
  24. Thats too low, my rear springs are 260mm and I think too low still, Id like perhaps 3kg and 285mm personally. See how that goes. I might redo some front struts in the long run to give more height adjustment.
  25. I honestly do not know the exact specs or origin of my rear springs. I bought them second hand from someone that didn't use them much. They feel like maybe 3.5-4 kg but still too stiff for me, I'm thinking about going softer and a touch longer.
