  1. No, this forum is a little more mature than that. A little. What you're desribing is more like the traditional "drift" that race drivers have been using since they carried their own mechanics in the passenger seat. It is an effective way of getting around corners. As opposed to the "d0rift0" method.....
  2. The same person also owns a genuine Ford GT40.
  3. Mother of God! He's already bought the car! :P Budget version is buying a $5 bottle of liquid paper and making new marks at important speeds (60, 80, 100). All you need to do is sus out what speed is what, and mark it in white. Don't laugh. There's is many a rally car out there using this system!
  4. I actualy found that the speedo on my KE25 to be the same. Might be something about age, dunno. Mine was accurate with 13's on it. There are places around that will re-cal it for you, but I don't think they're cheap. Put bigger tyres on it. :P
  5. Or give repco a call.
  6. Funnily enough, my dog is named George for that very reason! :P
  7. O'rielly's in the Gold Coast Hinterland..... http://www.oreillys.com.au/content/home.asp? Or up around Maleny on the Sunny Coast..
  8. You don't want a peaky pig of a thing for motorsport, motorkhanas or otherwise. The beauty of my 3K is usable power from 2500 to 7500. Flexibility is what you want. BTW, I believe 165 for a minisprint, but methanol and all the other tricks those guys are allowed will do that. You'll never get it out of a road motor.
  9. ^^^^ Wiki please!
  10. 2 1/4" system. Sorry mufflers? (one at the back.:)) That was done with your SU's, too.
  11. Another trick is because they've had 30 years of Gorillas tightening them, you might find the top flange (the bit the o-ring sits under) requires a bit of tap-o-metric attention. Dress it back down to about right-angles again and it will also improve sealing.
  12. I didn't mention it as I didn't think people would watch that far into it! Thanks Doug. I still like that yellow Datto though, it has MAJOR stick, suspension to die for, and someone to pedal it (usually). I should also add, that for all the noise and fun that it was, the time wasn't that great.
  13. Behold a motorkhana. The fastest way (but not always) to do one is sideways. This is, however, not drifting. Clicky here. For everyone else, watch for the yellow Datsun!
  14. A motorkhana isn't drifting. A motorkhana is a motorkhana.
  15. Drifting is fun, yes. Nobodys debating that. However, drifting is slow. End story.
  16. This has to be the fastest moving thread of all time.....
  17. Guys, that was a picture of the front disks I put up. It has Hi-lux drums on the rear. Go figure
  18. Moderated by that man full of Fook-osterone?
  19. No, not at all...... dixon2.jpe
  20. .... And to think I've been doing it all wrong all these years. 80 years of Grand Prix, thousands of racing car drivers, all wrong. I hear Schumaker is in an AE86 next year. Solberg is coming out in a Skyline.....
  21. The bugger rides a skateboard better than I do.....
  22. I know this car. Sorry to tell you but it's purely for show. Although it has Hi-lux back end in it, it was still running standard brakes on the front, and the owner had no interest in changing them. I couldn't believe that after spending so much money on everything else why he didn't do the brakes.
  23. :)
  24. 1200 utes are the AE86 of the Datsun world.
  25. A guy I work with in Melbourne has just bought one of these puppies. (Click here!) The man says the thing is nutso to fly. He also owns a Pitts Special, which he's selling at the moment (if you have a spare $55000). He said the Yak is a whole new ball game, and that half the time the plane was already two moves in front of him, and he just hangs on until the world stops spinning!
