  1. Level 2S, Tagged fire ext. Wrist to ankle clothing.....
  2. I know a guy in Victoria who had a vacuum boosted handbrake, it was AWESOME!! He had a Fiat disc back end in it, and the handbrake wouldn't work unboosted. Mine is a pig of a thing to use, and only brute force will make it work. The axis points and fulcrum points are all wrong. The one in Datgirls old car was good, and I think the new one is pretty good, too. See if you can look at Evan's car for idea's..... Cheers R
  3. No, No!! Thank YOU and good morning!!
  4. Struth, will someone put up a photo of a different car? You're embaressing me. Mumblezz, given time, (and not much of it) you're going to be very dangerous to those residing in the top end of the field. I love the way that car nips around poles, and without an LSD, too. Fook, an LSD and a working hand brake, and I may consider not even turning up again. Take heart, you did really well, adapted to the tightness and worked with what you had. It was a tough day for everyone. No you're not doing something wrong, Mumblezz'z car's just set up differently. I wish I could get my car to do what his does. Teddy, when you start doing these, remember you wont do all that overnight. Fook's been at it for a while, Datgirl's been at it longer, and I've been at it for what feels like forever. Forget about Mumblezz, he's just a freak. You'll learn what the car will do in the first couple of events, and from there it will get easier, and more entertaining. I don't think I'll ever get bored of doing the occasional Motorkhana. I had a fat time. R
  5. Hee Hee, scared crap out of Datgirl, too! She was driving when it happened. "Why does this car only want to turn left????" She wasn't to blame though. You could see on the stub where it had been cracked for a while, so it was going to go anyway, whether she was driving, or I was. This then allowed me to drive The Redatto the next weekend at the hillclimb! The Dwarf is being towed by one of the legendary Team Riff Raff (Motorsport Recovery: Get Pulled by the Best) vehicles. These guys were up there training for Rally of Q and were able to pull the car out of the bush for us. These guys are great, they provide a full recovery service at each rally, and do it for the love of it. If the Riff Raff can't get you out, you may as well strip the car where it stands, cos you sure as hell won't get it out!!
  6. Feel free if you want, but they're not cheap. Your welcome to use mine...
  7. Just got sent this.... dixon2.jpe
  8. And here it is..... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=1256
  9. Most airlines lease aircraft. Virgin have only just started to buy theirs, and only own maybe 10 out of 45 odd a/c. Its about $55m US odd to buy one. You can occasionally get an aircraft that will have one or sometimes two leased engines on it, so one company will own the airframe, and two other companies the engines. In the Ansett days, each seat was apparently worth about $300k in revenue per year. http://boeing.com/commercial/prices/ Here's an old price list, but you get the picture. Irokin, sorry, I think I've dragged it O/T again.
  10. Bonnie Blue? ZK-PBA, ex VH-VOQ I think. Yes, I've got my name on that one a number of times. It was a Virgin Blue delivered a/c, then transfered to the NZ register. Always been painted Pathetic Blue colours though. I used to have to do the ETOPS inspection on it each BNE turn. (ETOPS: Extended time operations, or engines turning or passengers swimming!) Winglets are an aftermarket option, I believe they're about $750k US for the pair, and it takes about two days to fit. Its about a 2 or 3% fuel saving at cruise. You makeyour money back in about 18 months, I think....
  11. I also have a double flare tool if required, as well. You're welcome to come over and use it.
  12. Three more sleeps!! Better read the supp regs and find out where we're meant to be going...... *edit for punctuation this time.....*
  13. How long is a piece of string??
  14. Pencil me in.
  15. Of course you can bring the Datsun, I'm sure we'll need something to stand on to take the photos! :P *Rob now runs for cover.....*
  16. Here's one for you, does anyone know what RTV in relation to sealant is?
  17. Ta very much, if I was a competent Moderator, I could do crap like that.... :P
  18. I agree it's good gear, I'm just not a fan, probably, as you stated, because I'm a grot and tend to get it everywhere. I'm suprised everyone glues on their tappet covers, I never have, and I've never had leaks. *Shrugs* *edited to remove off topic comment!*
  19. Yep BlueMaxx is a silicon. You glue on your tappet cover? Mmmm Hylomar, Rolls Royce use it all over there engines...
  20. The M10 is an oddball one though, it's an intermediate thread: M10 x 1.25, which is why some Datsun bolts don't fit in Toyota's : M10 x 1.5 fine. There we go. More useless shit.
  21. Must say I'm not a huge fan of the old Permatex no3, I'm more of a Loctite Bluemaxx kinda guy. This is what the old Permatex Ultra blue has become.
  22. Flattery (as opposed to flatulence) will get you everywhere... :P
  23. M8 x 1.25 Walk up to any Corolla of that vintage at a wrecker and pull out any bolt with a 12mm head. Cheers R *edit for crappy spelling again.....
  24. Call me old fashioned, but I have a lot of problems with putting a different manufacturers motor in a car. If you want a nissan motor, buy a Nissan. It's a complete package thing. Nissan (not Datsun, Mel!) make great motors, and pus cars. Yin and Yang. You can't go upsetting the balance of the world by transplanting things, I pesonally think it devalues a car, no matter how grunty it is. Sorry Jamie, that includes rotaries, too...... I suppose I'm just a purist at heart... *editted for crappy spelling
  25. Have a Heart!!! If the diff goes, we plonk it on the trailer and bring it home. Grim then gets to drive dwarf home. No probs! :P
