  1. We're back!
  2. All the very best of nav run luck to Fookie for the Coastal Classic!! May the rally gods shine on you all day Saturday!!! redwarf n datgirl
  3. Redwarf AND Datgirl here.... Just to say byeee, we're off to Caloundra in about half an hour to start the magical rally ride better known as Rally of Queensland. We're car 69 (no jokes thank you, or we'll sic Rob's wife onto you! :-) and we're running in the classics section. We are planning to pull out all the stops for what could be the last pairing of redwarf (driver) and datgirl (co-driver) ... we're ambitiously aiming for a top 5 finish in the classics. So, if you're up in the forest on Saturday (classics only run on Saturday), give us a wave - we can't guarantee we'll see you but I'm sure it will help!! Good luck to all in the Coastal Classic!! redwarf datgirl
  4. You'd be guessing right... I think my car is furthest from show quality than most, but this will be the fourth year I'll have been.. R
  5. I can give you a lift if required.... R
  6. That's the idea. It's a good gathering of interested parties.
  7. I can answer most of these questions. Yes, we just rock up. Its not really a show, more just a gathering. Nobody really has a stand as such, although groups do turn up, i.e Celica club. We can have as many cars as we want. They don't have to be show quality cars. Times per Toms e-mail. R
  8. Right...... I've sat here thinking for the required period of time.... Felix, where do I know you from?? :P It could be that I'm going senile. MMmm, I get all these people telling me I should run this, and I should run that, but do you ever see them in this or that?? I have a theory, and I don't want to sound uppity, but if it can beat me in any of my chosen forms of motorsport, I'll consider it. I haven't considered alot of cars recently.... me and my three quarter K motor keep chugging along. No I don't have a big head. Really... I don't. Damn, I've started ranting again. Back to topic before Grim sends me to the bin. Steve Wall down the coast has a PRB Clubman with a twenty valve. I'd own one just for the noise it makes!
  9. Me and my 3K.... we feel so old sometimes. Why can't I get excited over these new fangled modern multi valve things?
  10. Ferrari...... Isn't that a red car with a little horse on it?:P
  11. Neo: don't dream it, do it. You'll never regret it. As I read the other day, motorsport is a disease, the only cure is poverty. Teddy, well done. My best piece of advice to you is to go to events, ask heaps of questions, nobody will bite, and learn. And learn some more. And then some. And drive. In car time is priceless. You and your car, Grasshopper, will eventually merge into one...... wax on..... wax off.......mmm fly.... where's my chopsticks....
  12. datgirl's votes (can you tell I'm on Mr and Mrs redwarf's computer?) May 30 - Skid Pan - nope June 2 - Rollaclub Test'N'Tune - uck no June 6 - Rollaclub BBQ Cruise; Hinz Dam - rally Q, so no thanks (although it sounds like fun?) June 13 - All Toyota Day - errrr... no June 20 - Motorkhana 3, Southport - HELL YEAH!!!! Fat (read: show-off) FUN!!! July 24 - Queensland Challenge and next round of the interclub challenge - abso-bloody-lootley, everyone should do this - it'll be awesome - same format as the Coastal Classic - see www.queenslandchallenge.com It's motorsport season and we're LUVIN it!!!!
  13. Muuuu-aaaah-aaah haaa aahhhh datgirl here We are the champions WE ARE THE CHHHAAAMPIIONNS no time for loooo(hoo)zerrs cos we are the championnnnnssss ......... of the wurlldd!!!! Yes, quite stoked at the weekend's results. BSCC had a bit of a nav run school beforehand and we think that helped. We had a team consisting of 7 out of 10 newbies, so I'm quite happy that we managed to get ahead of some fairly experienced and serious competition! Okay, bragging over. The run was a bit long though, am interested in doing a plain vanilla one soon to get some practice before the mother of all nav runs.... the ironman nav run.
  14. I have an excuse, I was at work.. :P
  15. (Wednesday) 26 - HSC Night; Nope (Sunday) May 30 - Skid Pan; nope (Wednesday) June 2 - Rollaclub Test'N'Tune: uh uh (Sunday) June 6 - Rollaclub BBQ Cruise; Hinz Dam: Rally Q :P (Sunday) June 13 - All Toyota Day: If I still have a car. (Sunday) June 20 - Motorkhana 3, Southport: OOOhhhh Yeah! Although, see above.
  16. Hi guys, seeded entry list for Rally of Q is posted. Simon Evans at car 2! Go that mighty Corolla! Datgirl and I are at car 69, but it's not as bad as it seems, Classics are seeded from slowest to fastest. Link is: http://rally.com.au//pdfs/b27aaff0-cb70-47...377c17dd93f.pdf
  17. The Jaguar E Type was described when it came out by the Road and Track magazine as "The Greatest Crumpet Puller known to Man" The E Type 2+2 when it came out, was "Still the Greatest Crumpet puller known to Man"! :P
  18. Jaguar E Type, V12. Accept no comprimise. 1928 (?) 4 1/2 litre Blower Bentley.
  19. Crazy Japs... Warning, not 56k modem friendly. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1364258
  20. If things don't work out, and if you want to come down anyway, I'll be towing down with the Paj, there'll be plenty of room...
  21. Pressed the wrong god damn button and now I have to start again... it was a long one too. Teddy, you'd've been impressed. :) In the time it's taken me to bugger this up, Fook has written everything I wanted to say anyway. A couple of points, yes a 2S will let you do 2NS events, the same as my National Rally lets me do any 2S events. If Teddy is under 18, he will have to get his parent/ gaurdian to sign the entry form. I don't think he's restricted in doing any events, just as long as the form is signed. No, I won't be your gaurdian for the day. :) June 20th, Broadwater carpark, should be a hoot. Bringing Dwarf if still in one piece after Rally of Q. If not will try to scab ride in something else. Can provide trailer.... :S Fook is right. If you wait until your car is "ready", you may never make it out there. Nobody is going to laugh at you, quite the opposite. You have made the effort, and are therefore doing what a lot of people only ever talk about. You'll never go wrong, and there will always be an abundance of people to help if something does go wrong, or if you just need some advise. I have never known anybody in twelve years to be left stuck at an event. I started off in a crappy old red KE25, that was my girlfriend (now wife's) first car, with dodgy second hand suspension, smokey 3K and borrowed tyres. Car now features below. Gotta start somewhere. As for those photos above, nostalgia lane... Photo A: Baileys Powerlines Rally 2001, Imbil. You can tell it's an old shot due to the fact there is no signwriting on the car. Photo B: KCF Rnd 2 2002. Great stetch of road, you can see where it goes down the valley. We ran it coming up the valley on Saturday. One of those sweeping lefts is where I came unstuck in the Stanza. (Long 4 left into 2 right don't cut, no clutch hydraulics, can't find second, no drive through corner, slap Stanza into embankment. Still got another 2 and a half stages in before the diff let go though...:D ) Teddy, if you need any help with the parents, I may be respectable enough for them for me to try and help. I'm only a phone call away.... or an email. This has just taken me about three hours.... R 04170009_vi.jpe
  22. Gday all, Fook, we're going to both dinners, Classic and ARC. If you do attend, there is a fantastic chance that you may see an extremely rare sighting of me rat-arsed drunk. Doesn't happen every day. :)
  23. Hi Guys, We're doing Classic in the Dwarf, and using Redatto for pace note duties. Going to Classic presentation (hell big piss up), and probably ARC as well, (dinner entertaining, piss up at Rydges legendary...) We're staying at a place opposite Rydges, short grovel home after the party. We're going up Wednesday, coming home Monday. Should be big. R
  24. I have a 67 Isuzu Bellett you can have, with spare parts car for $2000. Only a 4sp though. Other members will attestify to its condition. R
