can you really put a price on something you will be happy with .. . to the S.A guys.. do you guys seem much of Scotts (??) old ROL.110 down there anymore does it still get around? loved that think wonder what ever happened to it..
-
thats awesome.. yeh i bought a couple.. one had front damage which at first didnt look to bad and i was going to fix it up but then i realised one of the front chassis rails had a serious kink in it so stripped her and parted her out on this site.. i felt bad about it when i considered parting it out but felt alot better knowing that sacrificing one ke11 would put many more back on the road.. i would never sell a ke16 if i ever got one.. then again the next ke11 or 10 i get probably wont be sold either.. as selling the last one is a re-occuring kick in the head everyday.. and the void wont be filled till i get another..
-
i don't doubt that you would be... when i sold mine it seemed like the right thing at the time but definatley wasnt.. should have just but the resto on hold for a bit then got back into it... oh well i will hopefully find what i am after sometime.. i will wait and save more patiently.. just waiting to strike when the right on comes along

Damn thats lucky.... don't get fairy tail endings like that too often.. and all for a measily $100 .. I'm waiting for the day I'm in one of those right place right time situations.. still kicking myself for selling mine .. always keep wondering if it got finished or what happened to it..

hey guys, just thinking lately, How did you guys find your cars? Any interesting stories behind it etc: i sold my project to a member on this site and have been kicking myself ever since.. and seems there are none in sydney at the best of times.. seems all you S.a. boys have them growing in paddocks down there.. been exhausting all efforts to find them in Sydney.. also Gavclassic if you read this .. how do you find so many of them? or are you bringing them from otherstates .. might be why i can't find any in sydney .. Gav has them all..
-
wow that is nice, must have been a hard slog to find one in that condition (I'm guessing you just bought it lol) any other plans for it ?

its at blacktown dude postcode of the top of my head is 2148 its about 40 mins from sydney city ..

you could do it to the ignition constant, but also could connect it to fuel pump.. so that when it is in off position fuel pump is off so it wont really run depends on the use for it.. if its to stop theft might aswell do it the right way and buy yourself a decent alarm.. a 2 dollar switch wont stop anything really when its found.. and thiefs will find anything...

+ 1 for the 3t.. what about 3tgte in it for turbs power .. that is unless your limited on budget
-
what about a ct9 off a GT starlet.. plenty around and cheap too.. also wouldnt be too laggy and decent turbo for some decent boost through the rev range.. they come off a 1.3 anyways and wouldnt be as laggy as a wrx turbo..

i believe it must be his brail parking aid cause he must be blind if he thinks that looks good.. could have bought 2 BMW of that year model/shape for the cost of building that hump... i don't like the dash prefer an all steel dash.. looks more oldschool...

i have had my fair share of e30s in my time.. they are pretty much the only BMWs that i really like.. had a 318, 318is, 325is in my time.. but they can't beat classic toyota's for me i felt discusted by the fact that someone could do that to the front of the old ke10.. the fronts on a ke10 have so much character and to replace the metal trimmings with plastic crap just feels so wrong.. i almost just wanted to buy the car to return her to a state of less humiliation for the old girl..

Hi, recently i was speaking to a guy over ebay who had a ke20 advertised and he mentioned that he had a couple of ke10s he was also interested in selling so i asked for some pictures and this is what i was sent.. hi Matt this is one of my other corollas KE10 5k motor, KE70 5 speed, KE20 Strut disc front end KE20 drum rear Datsun 180b SSS dash Datsun long range tank Datsun column Datsun wiring Home made BMW grill 5inch twin headlights, Sigma turbo seats, Laminated screen - tinted, new rubbers, sports exhaust, extractors, weber carby, homemade steel body kit, new headlining, new carpet, Charade front bumper, pioneer stereo, mate the list is endless I spent lots of dollars, had the car for 20 years, spent 5 years building it. Paint colour is HQ Flamenco acrylic red. Will send more photos. Hope you like them. Am open to offers.....cheers **** 1 2 3 4 IMHO i believe it is not a good exaple of a restoration on one of these classics.. tho i do like the AC setup in the engine bay :D please discuss

well if it rained and the car was left outside in you weather your likely to get rain spotting thru your piant which you will find on all the top panels i.e. boot, roof and bonnet practically anywhere the water can sit without run-off.. tint places do use chemical but mainly a mild soap to help the film slide when they pre-cut on the outside of the car.. i have never known a tint shop not to do this as it would be incredibly difficult to do so just on the inside of the car... some tint shops use a chemical called panel-wipe (prepwash) to remove glue deposits on windows from previous tint, stickers etc that may have been on the inside of the window and so on.. best bet to get rid of the spotting you curently have (mid you i can't see what these dots look like) would be to have the car buffed with a medium cut compound and would probably only remove with a rotary buff as you would need to get a certain amount of heat into the paint.. then give it a good glaze and wax afterwards to prevent it happening again.. if you were in Sydney i could take a look at it for you and buff it if need be but I'm guessing your not from sydney Cheers Matt

My Ke11 has its original 3k in it and its red..
-
still going to look into this and figure out what i may need to do to fit it and research it alot before i attempt anything on it.. also does anybody know the weight of a standard ke11?? cheers Matt
-
well my main concern with it was not the fitting of it as thats the simple part but more to the fact that people may view it as ruining a classic.. but more or less it would be the only thing non- original in my ke-11 build up as i have already got the interior re-trimmed to OEM standard etc: i just thought i would think outside the square as it is an engine i already have (don't need to buy another engine) and it would out perform the 4age on any day really IMHO (preparing to be flamed by 4age lovers). Cheers matt

hey guys, recently i have been having this rather nut case idea of stuffing the M42 engine out of my BMW that i am wrecking into my ke11.. now i think it is a wierd combination and didnt think it would fit but took to it with a measuring tape the other week and all seemed like it would fit in.. now the engine itself is a 1.8ltr Dohc 16V bmw engine which would give the old 11 a bit of poke to it and from intial enquiries it would be a legal conversion.. now i generally am not one to go for different engine outside the toyota family but this engine has some decent power and is just sitting there at my place and it powered my 1300 odd Kg Bmw quite well and I'm sure it would be alot better in the corolla.. Now the question is would this be a stupid conversion to undertake and should i just stuff in a 5k and be done with it or as my original plan was to get a 4age in there.. Cheers Matt

good luck finding one they are pretty rare to get.. i have like 3 ke11 grills and i had been trying to get one for a ke10 for ages.. cheers matt
-
how long is a piece of string?? theres no exact figure to how much it cost to put in .. you need to take into acount what you can do to it yourself and what you will need professional help for , cost of materials and the un-expected costs that will arise.. research it abit further dude.. as for legalities see what is allowed in your state and also speak with an engineer. cheers matt

i think the main issue that this wouldnt be too viable would be to do with insurance... but as for the garage.. look in your local paper there are sometimes people advertising their garages up for rent etc: i rented a garage out in annandale once for $50 a week (few years ago now.. would probably be more than this now ).. owner was sweet .. he payed for electricity.. didnt mind working on the car but had to keep the place tidyish cheers Matt

hahha sounds like some of the storys i have heard and seen before, one detailing shop i worked at (not going to name it) had a used car come in with grey carpet that had afew marks in it that wouldnt come out and carpet looked ratty etc: out came the seats and they sprayed the carpet black (obviously was done there alot as they missed all the dorr trims etc which was also grey) i must admit it did look ok at first but i can imagine it wearing and looking rediculous, one sales person smacked a door of a new 08 model volvo at the end of 2007 that was going out that day to the customer which left the door a bit munted so they grabed a door from the 07 model then noticing that they were different in shape had it sent to the panel beater to have the hinges moved so it would sit right and had moulds swapped over from the door of the o8 onto the 07.. then off to the customer.. sure they probably still wouldnt have a clue that the doors have a slight difference etc etc: got many more..
