  1. That sorta shit was going down in Ballarat when I was living there(bout 10 years ago). Not very often but you heard rumors. Usually it was a coppers kid or some such so nothing was sone about it. Went quiet for a while but looks like it has started up again :jamie: PS. kangaroosa, you were in town and didnt say so, wouldve come into town and said g'day
  2. I've done some big bitumen "motorkhanas" and it was actually quicker to rev its ring out of it in second than to use third :hmm: Guess it is because you are always on the throttle and not lifting off to change up or down. Leaving it in second also removes the possibility of missing a shift or unsettling the car which can happen by shifting. And no I am not a junior and I have no trouble with clutchless changes :)
  3. Sorry mate, no pics as it was done way before I got a digital camera. Just redrilled the holes around an inch further out and a bit higher as well. If you f@$k it up you just bolt everything into the old holes
  4. I'm running a redrilled crossmember as well as moving the strut tops in a wee bit.
  5. There great fun until you barrel roll one at top speed........ The aluminium scrapes on the road were close to 11 meters long and the skin scrapes from my elbow were not much shorter. The kid that built it wouldnt talk to me for a while as I totalled it :jamie:
  6. After the race - as you can see we race close!!!!
  7. here are some pics of our trike
  8. Well the RACV Energy Breakthrough is nearly one me again and its time I started panicing. Still need to assemble frame, build the body, paint the thing, organise t shirts......... For those of you who don't know the event, it involves supposed to involve schools building their own vehicles, which are then judged and raced for 24hrs. This year there are 95 human powered entries competing on one track and another track has the hybrid (motor/person) entries, so its a BIG event. Both of the schools hybrids are capable of 100km/h plus :) Our bike, built by the kids last year is considered old technology even though it is made from Chrome Moly steel and aluminium. There are a large number of bikes being made completly from carbon firber and kevlar now. In last years event the team manages to complete 691 laps in 24hrs which is around 768km at an average of 32km/h to finish 5th on the track and 3rd in the open class. With presentation points added in we ended up 2nd overall in our class, missing out on the win by less than two points :) to a team that set a new race record. Anyway if you guys have nothing to do, come and say g'day over the last weekend in November. I will be managing a team called RUN A MUK and should be located near the swimming pool in Maryborough (which is around 2 hours from Melb for those of you who don't get out much :)
  9. found thast mine was the return spring on the clutch pedal, spray with oil or turn the stereo up :)
  10. driving suit - check driving gloves check roll cage - check helmet - bugger obviously safety standards are not as strict.....
  11. Dodgy but super cheap way of getting low stiff springs in a KE20 is to cut down some Kingswood (HZ) rear springs. Should be able to make two corolla springs from one kingswood one :) just make sure you have really good shocks to control them as I found that my front wheels spent half their time off the ground
  12. Top one for me but not in those colors
  13. Ballarat Vicroads didn't question my old KE35 when I changed to a 5K. Dickhead even wrote the engine number down wrong :)
  14. Damn shoulda put a copyright on Corolla cakes!!!!!! Happy B'day Mickey
  15. I know its short notice but there are a couple of things on next weekend. 1. Vic 1/8 mile drag chapionship at Ballarat Airport on Sat. $15 bucks entry 2. Mt Tarengower, Maldon, historic hill climb Sun.
  16. yours looked "safer" than mine. I was jumping a ditch and lifted off before it. still ended up in free flight. I think what did most of the damage was I ended up nosing into the top of the ditch :)
  17. If that was entered in the tour class (normal road speeds), your trying pretty hard :)
  18. Did that once in mine and done a bit of damage. My tip is to pull your right hand front wheel off and check your sub frame. Mine cracked :)
  19. Just got the quote and it is just under $6000 without fixing the wheels (need a price on those)
  20. thanks for your thoughts guys. hopefully insurance will cover most of it.
  21. Yeah my Uncle got let off for running red lights going to my cousins crash so I should talk to him if I get fined :) List of damage front crossmember right hand strut buckled front wheel (wouldn't rotate as it jammed against the strut) right hand guard front and rear bumper extensions diff housing (its got a dirty big hole in it ) All in all she was VERY lucky
  22. wrong side of 120km/h....... At least he didn't give me the fine on the spot, but took my details to "discuss it with his Sergant". Not holding my breath though. Couldnt get any photos as the battery in the camera was flat  Been a bad month for my family. One cousin had her RX8 tboned by a dipshit running a red light. Just over 500km on the clock and it was written off and another cousin had their house burn down leaving them with just the clothes on their backs.
  23. As you can guess, my wife had an episode in the family wagon. After taking the boys to swimming lessons she was heading back to town when the car turned right all of a sudden at 100km/h. She described it as "hitting a pothole", but there wasn't any on the road. The car has crossed over the road onto the opposite verge and went over a concrete culvert (which lifted the nose of the car off the ground) and then spun back across the road into a ditch. Luckily my wife and our two sons (12 months and 4 weeks old) seem to be fine but the car was flat topped back into town as the diff centre was ripped off the body as well as other suspension and body damage. It looks like the inner guard has come out and went under the right hand front wheel causing the car to turn right. And Victoria's finest  made my day worse by fining me for speeding on the way to the accident :)
  24. would clock the tacho with my 5K. Thats 8000rpm with a standard bottom end
