Lol. You must of researched pretty shit. You say you are in QLD? Then this is only a little bit of the new laws. I was going to attempt putting an SR20 into my KE55 hardtop. It is legal to do if you get a blue plate yes. But P and L platers are not allowed to drive it anyway. As it will need to be approved under the Transport Operations for the blue plate. High-powered and performance vehicles include those with: * eight or more cylinders * a turbo-charged or super-charged engine that is not diesel powered * an engine that has a power output of more than 200 kW as per the manufacturer's specifications * a rotary engine that has an engine capacity of more than 1146cc as per the manufacturer's specifications * a modified engine that must be approved under the Transport Operations (Road Use Management – Vehicle Standards and Safety) Regulation 1999, section 30. Sorry for bursting your bubble Interlopr.

I am no fan of big bling rims, unless they really suit the car. Though for daily use and a bit of street, I would definitely choose D1doony's picture rims. Big bling rims are only really found on either; Show off cars (Trying to say they have big money or big loans) And Show room cars (They buy the big bling rims, the expensive paint and the expensive gear)

We are not allowed a supercharger or turbocharger on our L's or P's. I am just really considering Supercharging when I am on my opens. Though turbo sounds just as good. Just not too sure what I really want to do. I am heading towards Supercharger at the moment. Though time will see.

Not allowed engine conversions. Not allowed 5k or 7k. 5k is just too big to replace my 4k from QLD rules without a blue plate.
-
Well I am going to try and push limits with my 4k, can't wait to see what happens.
-
Hahaha. I should take a picture of this chip packet I have. It's mong.
-
Though I do not think a 4k will evert up too 600hp, so I don't think the Gilmore belt will shredded a rolla any time soon.
-
Gah. I dislike people who do that!

KE70's do not come with a 16V or 20V here in Australia anyway. Not sure about anywhere else An AE86 I think has a 4age in it. Though don't hold me to that as I prefer older Corollas Pre KE70. I am also an L driver, driving restrictions are tough at the moment, though if you just buy a KE70, put a 16v or 20v in it, keep it for 4 years, then get it blue plated, and everything then you can drive it. Though if not, then stick to the laws. Depending what state you are in, also not allowed turbos, superchargers etc. Only exception is a small turbo for a diesel engine. Not allowed a Rotary engine over a certain amount of cc's Not allowed V8s or above Not allowed a car with more than 200 kW or in Horsepower terms 268hp

Haha. Wouldn't suprise me if you get another 2-5 more to your collection. Though I think someone will lay down how many more cars you can fit into your storage location.

Thanks. There is a reconditioned KE30 Brake Booster I found, though I might not hassel changing over everything. Thread can now be terminated.

Real cars lift the front wheels. They aren't driven by them. No offense to any FWD lovers.

XR5 Turbos are fun to be in too. I am not much of a fan of FWD, though if it were RWD I would buy one. The newer XR5's (2008) Have a push start and a few interior differences too the older XR5's The engine is yes, a Volvo 5 cylinder as well. I work in Ford and work on a fair few of these. Though sadly, I can not drive them properly yet as I am on my L's

Trying to look for an "I know" more than "I think" Though thank you for your comment.

Is there any difference between KE30 Brake Boosters to KE55 Brake boosters? Can the KE55 master cylinder go onto the KE30 brake booster? Would the KE30 brake booster even bolt onto my 1981 KE55 hardtop? Sorry about the nub question.

T-18 ones do I think.

People also use fiberglass instead of bog. Something to think about as well. Though if it were me, I wouldn't use bog or fiberglass, just opening options for you.

They say panel beating is a an art to have. There for being expensive to do. And also, what is cheap these days?? It's hard to get metal to to go into shape and to make it stay in shape. If you HAVE the time to do yourself then give it a go. Might get bog if it isn't that big. Also, if you cut the metal with an oxy, you may warp the metal around where you did the cut, as you heat up metal it expands and it may ripple or warp metal around the area. Just a tip to remember.

Haha. I can vouch for dodgyness. You should see where I work. I do Pre-Deliverys on brand new Ford cars/Ford Falcons etc. Can you live with going home with your nice new car seeing that a first year apprentice looked and CHECKED over your vehicle for faults/codes to brake failure or anything structural damaged? :)

Of course you can do it silly. I can answer that one for you hehe. I haven't done an engine swap, though I have pulled one out. It doesn't take long, maybe 30mins - 1hour if you know your stuff. And also if you have an engine crane and stand. Raise the car up with a jack, put 2 stands under the sills, lower the jack and put it under your gearbox area and jack it up a little untill it just touches. Then disconnect everything connecting to the engine, and the gearbox, take out the center console where your auto might be bolted down to the body, remove the tailshaft from the diff. You will more then likely have to remove the rear crossmember to get the auto out. Probably suggest draining the auto first though if you like to get messy then no need. They should be pretty straight forward to get it out. Just try and remember which bolts go where etc. Plus I am pretty sure you can do it man =] Good luck.

Yes, I remember the front blinker area. I remember it too JiP

Looks good Luke. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see it running haha.

I will be putting a 34 ADM carby on my Corolla. They are off the old Falcons. Engine will be worked etc and is going to be my daily. If you WANT to do it, then go ahead. Carbys can be jetted down to suit.
