Alright. My KE55 has got me a little stumbled. On the weekend I was having more of a look at her, and ripping the bonnet and boot and some other things off. I've noticed a few things, and was just curious about them. One: Why are there weird ripples or something in my strut towers? I've noticed a few have them on here so I guess must be a weird factory thing? Two: There is also some weird number plate thing on the top of the right strut tower? What is that? I thought the chassis number is on/above the firewall? Three: With my fuel tank, there is rust on the above part of where you put the fuel in, as in inside the tube. Can you disassemble the fuel tank and either clean or buy a new fuel pipe so I don't have to worry about rust/dirt or any substance getting into my fuel tank? Sorry if I am asking repeated questions :hmm:

Ouch.. I'd be spewing. And probably trying to hold myself back from pushing the driver. And it is one kick in the nuts too.. I've got a replica panel, but it will take too much fart assing around to stick it onto your corolla. Only other panels I have, will have rust in the lower quarter and a few dings in it.

Good work so far! I am new to the rolla scene too. Though, painting in dirt and etc when you spray the particles will fly everywhere like dirt, and excess materials around the place. So if you really want a 100% paint job you should find an area that limits the amount of crap to fly around everywhere into your paint. Keep up the good work.

Believe it or not, I was at the same intersection and but she was parked up further up on the left side.. A pretty hot chick drives it too. I had trouble looking at the car haha. It was hard to decide which to look at, but the girl won.

That is George Wegener (First Picture), he is fairly old to be racing still.. but he raced on the weekend that just went. I've spoken to him before about his car and it goes pretty quick too. Soon as I seen that car when I went to the drags, I knew it was a winner.

She is very artistic. She should paint other guys rollas for a bit of moneyy. Looks good though mate, the car and the painting.

Yeah I hate seeing them die too. A fair few Corollas have had an accident on here. Sucks big time.

Ah.. Strange. I am not familiar with engine dates? As I don't know if there is any.. but I could be wrong. I know there is an engine number. Are you sure there are 4 different gasket kits? If there is 4 different ones, maybe they just come with either different material or different stuff in the kits.. Though I could be wrong.

I am not from Perth.. and I am trying not to invade your topic. Though I am a first year mechanic and I wouldn't always trust other places to do your mechanic work.. I've seen a lot of stuff ups at work, and they either try and "Bodgy it up" or if it isn't noticeable they wouldn't worry as much.. Try ringing up an Operator & asking for a mechanic near your location or www.whereis.com.au or something along them lines?..

Lol. Or you can always "Borrow" it. Just say you forgot to return it =]

Ah. Sorry you had to see that sight. I thought I was going to see the same thing when we had our crash. Though thanks to the safety rail, we are all in one piece.

Special tool you will need to remove the sump plug = Spanner, big bucket, jack and 2 stands. Not sure on the size. I haven't really played with my car yet. Though jack the car up, make sure you support the car with the 2 stands.. for safety reasons. You also might want to get a big bucket under your car to catch some oil. Not being.. mean, though if you haven't drained oil, you will more than likely get it on your hands when you take the sump plug out, or even drop it into the big container, then the oil will cover the whole bucket. Just becareful in other words. Oil is a pain in the ass to clean up.. Oh, and 4k Engines aren't expensive. You get pretty good deals on here. You pick 4k's up for a carton of beer up to around.. $400 from a wrecker. Though usually around $50 to $200 on Rollaclub.

Maybe Carby issues? Guessing :jamie: I know cold starts have an effect on my step mums 4A engine.

Agreed with Xany. Also with new oil, you stated it's hard to see. Take the dip stick out, Give it a good clean with a rag. Then put it in the hole, take it out again. Now you might want to do this in sun light.. try and reflect the oil with the sun and it should be a little easier to see. I have had the same problem checking new Fords all the time. Oh, and try not to fill the engine all the way up to the oil cap with oil.. I am pretty sure that wouldn't be a good idea. I haven't done it yet, so I can't say what happens. But I am pretty sure something will REALLY go wrong. Lol.

I would say sort of. Maybe hard to find cheap is a better sentence. You may get the once in a blue moon cheap KE20. I haven't seen many in my days of living. More common is the KE55 & KE30 sedans and the more common KE70.

Sounds like a wanker.. I would of gotten out with a bat or something man. Hate idiots like that.. I have to restrain myself from swearing :/
-
Yeah I am pretty keen to for my 4K..

So I take it you have been playing around with the mixture screw or the idle screw? I'm sure a few guys on here might be able to help you out without having to pay someone to do it for you.

Lol nice photo shop mate. You should ask the chicks that go on myspace a lot. I'm sure they will do a perfect photo shop job for you. Also. You will have to think about the sun.. Black will absorb the sun. Making the car very hot. You will most likely be able to see scratches easy as well as it being dirty. Though black will be unique. Though I feel that the paint tells the car in a way. Example. Yellow with two Black stripes down the middle of the car. To me that wouldn't really sound.. Say an Tuner car. (Aka Ricer) Though Silver with two Blue stripes down the middle of the car. To me that does sound like a Tuner car.

Lol. If it was sitting there for two years I don't think he would have anything under the bonnet.. otherwise I think he would still be having fun in it instead of letting it get sun burnt.
-
Wow. I bet your eyes lit up as soon as they said Yes! But they would of just exploded when they said $6,000 It's just me, but I don't think I would pay that much for a KE20.. I love my KE55, but with $6,000 you could buy a car with even a V8 or anything in it. I guess it's how much you love Corollas though! =]

Would you like to come Nick? As we share the same names? Haha.

To answer your question about number 2. I'm sure you can ask suspension shops for Hopper Stopper kits, though I am not 100% sure if they will go on a KE20. Though there is no harm in asking. Though the custom suspension will not be cheap. Looking around $2000-$4000 Depending what kind of suspension you really want. Some states will also may want a blue plate for having a custom suspension setup.. Though I know next to nothing as well on KE20's. Hope this helped a little.

Bummer! Just put a fake sticker on it Trev hehe.
