i assume this is goin to be massively long term.... huge amounts of work.... 'nothing' is going to be easy or a case of 'just do this & just do that' as long as your thinking it through and sure you up for all the work.... look at the 4v powered kesev ute on toymods... that guy has money but that build is still taking years. ke36 ute would be rad but f@#k me its gonna chew the money.

after discussing the removal of the roof on my ke10 with an engineer... the crux of it is that you'll need to make it a 'full chassis' join the front rails to the rear rails. and the 'ladder it' planty of bracing. would need to be carefull removing the floor pan etc... to not twist the car too much.. pretty much what 1jzke55 has done. he'd be the guy to talk to on the actual 'how to'.

shite car will still be in the process of fixing... maybe next time.

Nah dude earthed it more i now have 4 earths. Cranks heaps faster now. Still being a bitch to start but the sparks are a result of the rather loud grinding noise. It does seem to make sense the bell plate hitting if it has slipped then i will be aligning it and installing 2 6mm dowels to ensure it doesn't happen again.

ok so the car was finished for my wedding on saturday. was one of the wedding cars and looked great! drove well. yesty was trying to sort out a starting issue... not understanding the problem but it is tempremental about starting. then all of a sudden it started and i get a really loud whining noise.... i look in the bay... i have a little window where i can see into the g/box... and i see SPARKS!!! flying around the flywheel.... WTF.. anyway rear main oil seal... front main oil seal and the rear g/box seal all leaks!!! so the motor has to come out again anyway to fix all that.! spewin but meh i just hope the sparks aren't anything serious.

so it drives!!! and it drives really nicely... revs up real quick very responsive and smooth!!! exhaust note is nice.. sounds great on limiter.. induction noise from the pod is great. thermo fan setup works really nicely... blows a gale when they turn on. clutch is nice and grabby and being hydraulic it has a nice feel to it. glass is going in on tuesday.

ok so i continued on with polishing this arvo... also tried to figure out what the hideous hissing/howling noise was coming from the intake side of the engine. i believe my fpr is semi rooted... kinda explains why the car is hard to start after 1 day... so on the list this week... front windscreen seal single wire 02 sensor.. setup the clutch cylinders. touch up my gaurd and one of my doors. finish polishing fit doors and install glass. DRIVE!!!

yay the day has come... the motor runs and seems to run well. can't rev it or anything as the water pump is shagged so there isn't any water in the system.. this will be sorted out on the wkend... also will have the clutch cylinders finished off by sunday as well. so i'll be able to take it for its first spin around the shed complex. 3 doors left to hang and polish... front guards need polishing as well as the bonnet. then its finished!!! i can smell victory... lol. big thanks to jono for the wiring... work is neat as lovin it.

my cigweld has a chart on the inside of the flap where you put the wire... lowest amps setting and wire speed 6 i think...

sounds like you have the same welder as me... with panels you can really only get away with tack welds quick short bursts make sure the area is clean of all paint as well. takes a while but it works... once you tack it let it cool then direct the heat into the tack... not on the panel.

no worries dude but won't be there till 4 30 ish doing a u pull it trip.. anything you need? they have a panelvan there. ok so my handbrake always felt sloppy... turns out my floorpan was cracked!!! all the way around the nut. so here the fix feels great now. intall this and yay ecu sitting in the glove box...

cheers mate i love it aye.! ok some more... here is the gearbox floorpan mod.. wiring for everythin... neatly tucked away (thanks jono) and the motor here you can see the radiator hose from a kia carnival... the oil filter relocation kit... the dizzy mount. and extractors..

ok last pics tonight more tomorrow... net is jst way too slow. exhaust... extractor to cat. hotdog diff bend and rear muffler + tips... don't worry they'll be shorter... all 2 1/4" mandrel. hotdog and muffler is pacemaker.

meh same difference... lol i use a sanly knife... scissors woud work relly well.

i cut mine on a 45 angle..

ok so i'm getting married in 3 weeks and i'm starting to stress about getting my car done its gonna be part of the cars driving the bridal party around... so... next weekend i'm wondering if anyone would be keen to come to my workshop and help get it all together? need people with experience in ke30's as basically it needs putting back together aka window regs central locking interior trims... installation of windscreens etc. no favour will go unpaid with me whether it be helping out with your car.. hooking up paint jobs... powdercoating etc... custom fab as well. will supply beer and pizza on the day. let me know on here or by pm if your willing... my workshop is in lonsdale. cheers, Luc

pics today phone camera has turned to shite and i keep forgetting to take the sony camera to the shed. well pics tonight... shell is all cut back and polished up one door and the bootlid are all done.. engien bay has been touched up and looks half decent again... exhaust is all finished now apart from hangers. hope to have two doors up on the car and put back together.. can also start putting taillights and boot back together and the interior should be good to go...
