  1. As some of you may have seen Teddy is trying to get a road trip to Bathurst for the V8 taxis I mean Supercars in 2007. Any Canberra area people interested in a road trip to Bathurst and meet up with some other Rolla Club members from other states? If so let Teddy know or just let us know here and we can pass the interest on to him.

  9. KE70 for $100 bucks, where is it I want it :P I do not want all of it just the gear box, engine and body :D
  10. As Mr Hardware said, we also used to keep the standard hire cars LTD & Fairlane until they hit 380,000 to 400,000 or 6years and the stretches until 600,000 or 650,000 or 8 years. They are looked after better then a cab in most cases but not all. Ex hire cars still look like new and drive like a family owned or ex fleet with around 150,000 on the clock and better maintained, we used to sell ours ex-standard cars for around $5500 and the stretches for $30,000 You can get some great ex-cabs and great ex-hire cars but there are also some real dogs out there as well. You can normally spot the dog a mile away or just by starting it or even within the first 500 meters of your test drive. But for a cheap car and cheap fuel I would by one for a round town shitter, they also make a great cheap base for a rally car.
  11. Sweet dude :D :y: :( :P
  12. I used to run hire cars including a stretch limo, all on dual fuel. All cars were tuned to gas as petrol was more of a back up for long trips etc.... my DA LTD Stretch did 380km to a tank of gas around town and cost $25 to fill, on petrol it would do around 430km and cost $65 to fill but this is going on 1993/94 fuel prices. Not a lot of km's to a tank I know but the car was 1995kg's empty that is no fuel in the tanks, nothin in the bars, just the car it self (still less then half the cost of petrol for 50km less distance). Or 2 standard fairlane/LTD did 440km to a tank of gas around town and 480km on petrol and cost the same to fill, so do the maths and gas is cheaper and also cleaner, we had the head done on one of the cars at 285,000km and the machanic could not belive it he said the engine only looked as if it had done less then 100,000km. But remember I had these cars tuned on a dyno by a guy that built performance engines to run on gas so he was not just your every day gas converter or car tuner. With current petrol costs if you spend $60 or more a week on petrol you will recover the cost of a gas conversion in 18 months based on the conversion cost of a Falcon or Commodore.
  13. here comes some more still more to come guys :P Hey Nick I can see some pic's for the 2007 calendar in some of these :y:
  14. Here are some more pic's, more to come soon.

  16. Lots of places in Sydney, just do a seach or as Geoff said try Glenn.
  17. May even be able to find you a bed or a couch...lol Cool, Rolla Club Canberra meeting/cruise with guest speaker "NICK" followed by a drink or 2 or 4 or 8 or 10 or........... you get the drift :( :) Shall work in well as the Canberra section turns one on April 30th
  18. No carpet is ok for any car, no rear seat is ok for rally rego but not sure about standard rego in all states but is ok in ACT if you seal the boot off from the cab as Geoff said. I would guess this would be the same in all states as this would be an ADR thing and all states must follow the basic ADR's.
  19. As Geoff said A BIG thanks to all that came along just wish I could have stayed for longer. 8 cars for our 1st cruise is good and Geoff and I are very happy with that, we were only missing I think 5 members so it was good. I will post some pic's later as well (just getting the wife to edit/fix some up) and if anyone wants copies of pic's just let Geoff and myself know and we will email them to you. Now we just need these numbers at the monthly meetings. Oh, and if you are a new member or an old member that has not yet introduced yourself and your car then please do here http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=3508 Brett
