  1. Yes, its called a TE71 or a TE72. The TE72 is a T18 in Australian speak. TE71 didn't come here. That should give you something to start searching.
  2. The correct name for it is a, "strut bar bracket" Strut bar being the correct name for what most people call castor rods.
  3. Great news! Congratulations!! And speaking from experience, I am stunned that your brain is functioning sufficiently to put that release together.
  4. I think the Haynes manual does, but I sold mine on. The only thing I have left is the Toyota factory EWD (electrical wiring diagram) book, which includes the AE80
  5. And someone else again!
  6. Ta da clicky The complete AE86 wiring diagram circuit book is here for download. Every circuit, wire by wire and plug by plug. Also download the diagnostic manual which has a very useful simplified wiring diagram plus pinouts etc etc
  7. The speedo drive has a little tab that holds its housing in place in the extension housing (secured by a bolt). If that isn't there the drive housing could fall out, but I can't see how that would mash the plastic gear, as the plastic gear wouldn't mesh anyway. The speedo drive is a snug fit inside its housing so don't see how it could be loose?
  8. Sad isn't it. :hmm: :P I must try and find one of those old State Bank of Victoria walking Santa money boxes (the thing on the passenger seat).
  9. The drive and worm can be independently changed. The gear being chewed is more likely due to the fact that the metal worm gear within the extension housing will turn no matter what, and if the gear gets jammed somehow, being plastic it will get chewed. It's the safety valve if you like. I would imagine you have either a buggered speedo cable (or you have bent it to far on itself) and it is jamming up, or less likely the speedo has seized.
  10. This is me a very long time ago............
  11. 4AGE manual (blue book) is here and comes up on ebay often enough. Can probably still get it from Toyota. The Haynes manual isn't too bad, and is also easily available.
  12. Ha! $27,302,619 Zimbabwe Dollars is the equivalent of $AUD1.00 At least it was this morning. Replying now.
  13. I'm guessing you have forgotten this post? Let me know if you want it. You had better move fast, the Zimbabwe dollar has dropped 'a bit'. Conversion is now $27,302,619 Zimbabwe Dollars!
  14. Wrong. Been there done that myself and it only leads to unnecessary expense as you replace perfectly good components. Look at the diagnosis manual
  15. So you worked through the diagnostic manual?
  16. Finally got mine today, so can pay off what I have spent on Yahoo Japan lately! Well a small amount anyway......
  17. PMP020 is on here, why don't you send him a PM?
  18. Could be all sorts of things. Can I suggest you go here and download the diagnostics manual and work through the problem in a methodical manner. This is a Toyota factory book that takes you through things step by step depending on the fault. As you would have a factory wiring setup, it should be particularly useful.
  19. You are indeed in luck. I have one silver cheviot 70mm cap identical to the one in your pic. I got these new with some cheviot rims some time in the early 90's I think. For some reason I have kept one of them. I don't think it has ever been on the car, I didn't like them, but it has been banging around in various boxes so needs a clean. It's yours for the princely sum of $26,844,523 Zimbabwe Dollars. When you work out how much that is, PM me your address and I shall get it out to you.
  20. I am pretty sure I have one as new. Will have a look.
  21. http://rmcarburetors.net/ This is Rodger from Toymods business
  22. The noise, smell, heat, blood, excrement, gore is something you never forget. Especially on the pig chain. The pigs knew what was going on. When man becomes extinct, it's the pigs that will take over...........
  23. Years ago I worked at Gilbertson's meatworks, and the spectacle of the kill floor, and stock crates of bobby calves never put me off veal or the limitless supply of eye fillet....drool.
  24. Yes the hubcaps and trims were good. The car looked as if it had been standing in long grass as it was badly rusted underneath and around the base unfortunately.
  25. We crossed there. Earlier bigports are three rib, in rear and front wheel drive. There are later 7 rib bigports, all front wheel drive engines. Positively no 3 rib smallports.
