Not sure if anyone else has posted it, but there is a restoration article of a TE5X? that apparently ran in the Monte Carlo rally once. A Danish guy has it. Is in Classics Monthly December 2008 edition. It's an English magazine by the way.edit, may actually be a TE37? If it isn't a KE/TE2x or AE86, I wouldn't know!

The USDM loom is different in a lot of ways from the RHD cars. Go here for a full copy of the diagnosis manual. Work through it logically.

Get a T50 from an AE86. Be aware the Celica T50 is sufficiently different and not worth the hassle. The AE86 T50 has two bellhousings, which differ only in that the clutch slave swaps sides to keep it away from the exhaust manifold for the 4AGE. The 4AGE has 4AG stamped at the top of the bellhousing and the 4AC ADM box has 3A stamped at the top. Not personally familiar with the AE71 4AC box but someone will know. The W box won't be necessary in a 1200 and adds weight and size. If you decide to turbo it then that may be different.

That's good to know. Had been thinking seriously of buying my seals from him. Does anyone now if the Thai ebay guys seals are any better or are they the same ones?

Connect the vacuum line from the guage to a take off on your inlet manifold. It gives you an indication of economy. i.e. you put your foot down and the needle swings to poor, cruising along needle is on good.

To ease my depression at missing Maffra, managed to get out to Centre Rd this morning thus avoiding going to Chadstone for santa photos. The KE35 is still there and has a perfect uncracked dash pad! There is also a very tidy KE30. No AE71's, or any earlier KE's. AE82 twinky is still there though pretty well nothing mechanical on it. There is a decent Bellet hidden away along the side if you are into those.

Due to the weather and illness, am bailing out unfortunately. Not going to the beach either. Disappointed as it would have been a great day. Wouldn't be surprised if Sale floods.

Not really practical or fair to paste it in. This guy was also offering to supply completed units at a very reasonable price, although it was a while ago. Not sure how relevant this is but may prove useful. It's a long time since I had K motors, and am just getting back into T's after a long sojourn with A's. Even if the bits won't fit a K dizzy, may inspire someone to investigate other Toyota stuff that may go in. Just goes to show what is possible with a bit of lateral thinking.

There is a thread on toymods about putting the internals of a 22R dizzy from memory into a T series distributor using the 22R ignitor. Shall dig it out if this sounds relevant.

Per the Toyota manuals T engine T50 capacity is 1.5 litres A engine T50 capacity is 1.7 litres

I would highly recommend continuing south to Kongwak, the road just keeps going, but do watch out for cyclists - and me coming home from Sandy Point! Kongwak have a great small Sunday Market where you can get great home cooked Asian dishes for lunch and pickup some groovy retro items.

Moving from a classy KE25 to dogbox KE30 is the same thing isn't it? :lolcry:

The only sensible idea is to put whatever came out in that body shape overseas. I imagine that means a silvertop or possibly? a 4AGZE. And once you have researched that, whatever you do, make sure you buy a complete front cut and transfer EVERYTHING over, all mechanicals, all electrics, suspension, brakes everything. You will regret it otherwise.

Thinking more about it, AE71's would have had a T50 also. I think I know where a reference is.

If it is behind a 4AGE the box will be from an AE86. ADM and JDM are identical despite some conjecture about a synchro ring. T50's also came in the various Toyota's fitted with 2T or 3T engines, but they will not fit to a 4AGE
