  1. From an efficiency point of view, if it came with one originally, then fit it. If it didn't, it will work better with a shroud if it is fitted properly. But I'm with Dave, so easy to pick up electric fans cheaply these days with built in shrouds and just use a toyota temp sensor to drive it rather than stuffing around with temp probes in top hoses. The Witzl on toymods has done a great write up on wiring thermo fans with the later type (ie from cars fitted with thermo fans) toyota temp switch as a trigger. All that is aside from any roadworthy, safety issues.
  2. You can afford to buy things in US dollars!! :) Yeah this guy has a history of giving himself feedback via his various persona's. Have watched him over a long period and finally gave in to temptation - once. Never again!
  3. I did when he was karllyy as we had a dispute. Have tried to report him again under his new persona, however ebay doesn't appear geared up for that sort of reporting........ He does have some great items, you just need to factor in exorbitant postage, and definitely check it BEFORE bidding. I would NEVER bid on his items on my experience.
  4. tinekedenboer on ebay is someone to be careful of. Note he has had multiple alias' - karllyy, corolla75deluxe & Garage Toyota He certainly has some very tempting parts but charges through the nose for postage. When he was karllyy, I checked before bidding on shipping for a small plastic trim. Price was a bit high but was happy to wear that. Decided to also pickup 4 very small stickers that go on the engine. He totally refused to put these inside the box with the other item which was ridiculous, and wanted to charge an extra 12 euro to post these 4 stickers. I didn't query postage on these stickers before bidding as could see no reason at all to need to do so. I refused to pay anymore than the 37 euro! postage already quoted for the trim item. He previously traded on ebay (and still does on the web) as karllyy, corolla75deluxe & Garage Toyota and is located in Spain. None of these accounts are linked. Possibly his actual items and shipping times are fine but be very wary of postage. I did notice he had some issues with this previously when corolla75deluxe & Garage Toyota. I was not the only person he attempted to rip off when he was karllyy and his subsequent feedback made for interesting reading. Anyway karllyy is 'No Longer a Registered User". Clearly paypal had enough of him too. I subsequently heard from another member on rollaclub, that karllyy tried to rip him off far worse than me over a console. It looks like he is back again, this time as tinekedenboer. I have no doubt it is the same seller. Note that his location is in Spain even though the items are supposedly in the Netherlands. All of his feedback has been given to himself by his other persona's, except for the only real one which is a negative! You have been warned.
  5. I've also been using Thule racks that mount this way on my Renault Scenic. Has carried some very heavy loads without any problems, particularly regardingg marks on the roof. I you are in Melbourne, give Roof Carrier Systems in Camberwell a call. http://www.roofcarriersystems.com.au/
  6. There's a Toyota Sera at Centre Rd. Wondered what the hell it was and then why I couldn't get the doors to open. Finally clicked I had to actually lift it up! Why would you buy a car like that. Not much else new there. No twin cam AE82's or TA's. Couple of RA40's. The MA61 is still there plus a soarer. The RT40 Corona is still pretty much intact surprisingy, been there for months.
  7. I had a Wade 169 grind in my 2TC many years ago. Was a very good streetable cam and was run happily at different times with a downdraft weber (32/36 DCD from memory) and also twin 40 mm webers. At that time (mid 80's :y: ) the next grind up was a 121 and that was pretty lumpy. Wades have a website with the various grinds and are very knowledgeble.
  8. Me too. I'm heading this way also.
  9. The "angst" at the time of the merger was actually quite funny. Arguing over the most minor issues as I recall. Mind you, I only saw the CCCV side of things but the meetings became very tedious about then, whilst most of us went off to have a beer.... Anyway, TOCV were wooses :)
  10. CCCV was always better than TCCA though :)
  11. Yeah I saw this recently too. PMP020 was after some recently, ask him as I am sure he will know which model and if there a fitment issues. I saw a set on a SAAB at Centre Rd wreckers (Melb) a few weeks ago, but don't know what the model is called.
  12. If you cut it right against the plastic fitting, then when you remove the remnant left behind, you should have enough left to just reattach.
  13. Ask your question on aeu86.org No Charmant's in Australia and the Euro guys seem fairly aware of Charmants.
  14. I had a serious think about this too then forgot about it. See here
  15. As far as I know, the dimensions of an excel radiator are the same whether they are fitted into an Excel, an AE86 or a KE35......... Also information about what sort of mounts they have maybe useful. Perhaps I'll just fug off and let him work it out for himself.
  16. Not really. The AE86 rad is pretty wide. so most of your fins would be blocked by the front valance. May also run into problems physically fitting it in. I presume the ones you are looking at are twin core rather than single core like a standard AE86 rad. There would be better options. Early Hyundai excel radiators have become popular in AE86's, are narrower, twin core, available and cheap. Maybe a good option but research it first. Plenty of stuff on AE86drivingclub about these including dimensions.
  17. Have a search around on here. Would be surprised if there wasn't something, it is pretty comprehensive.
  18. I have a similiar issue with my KE25 in that someone has put some bog into a dent in the A pillar. Eventually I will dig it out and see what sort of damage there is, hopefully it will just need a gentle pull out. I have actually cut out an A pillar from a KE20 I found at pickapart to get a good idea of how it is constructed in cross section, and surprisingly it is reasonably complex.
  19. 3-23 is just type. The beauty of JPG over PDF is that just by clicking on the image you can enlarge it with total clarity
  20. No worries. This is the "Body Group" book (No. 98412-1), and the only KE1x book I have, beside an owners manual. It does have more so if you are after something specific let me know and I will have a look through. I am just around the corner from Motor Book World and not surprisingly no the guys in there pretty well. Can have a look on Monday if you like. The electrical section is pretty good showing the Harness layouts, what the plugs look like and location of these, plus the wiring colours. Everything is black and white. There are about 9 pages dedicated to the harness and general wiring diagrams. If you hang on a bit, I will scan up some more pages. I'll let you tizz them up!
  21. There is more detail, especially for the loom, but best to get your own copy, or I'll be here all day.
