Geta bike and go riding, its so healthy and better work then walking, like today I rode up a hill which I find challanging to walk up, and in my mind I was swearing, in pain, wanting to throw up, and having a great time pushing my body. :P Instead of BMX racing have you tried Mountain Biking??? I am a XC (cross country) rider at the moment, but I've done northshore stuff on logs and ramps and its a fantastic challange. Or Downhill might be your cup of tea???? thats flying down hills extremely fast, basically like rally but on a bike and best time wins. Another thing is that bike manufactures are making hybrids between BMX and MTB's and theres a whole bunch of jump bikes to choose from, and you can score a nice ride for under a grand. Dan put some bikes together, no one cares what people ride, as its the 1st rule of riding, never ever EVER put down someone due to their bike. As we all have different budgets and the main thing is your out riding having a go rather then eating a pie and playing on the computer. Also, another awesome thing about riding is that you don't have to be fit, you can be unfit, start off easy and build yourself up. I love riding, nearly as much as I love driving. (55% driving to 45% riding ratio) Here is a pic of my racer which I bang together using nothing but parts I found here and there. A pic of my helmet when things go wrong, and a pic of current beast.

Sorry about last post, I was running out the door to get to Gold Coast (work)from Brisbane, took me 40mins and I just got there at 9am, phewww... Anyhow, as I was saying its a 2004 Holden Astra SXI, 1.8ltr 4cyl n/a 5sp manual. Goes alright for what it is (daily car), the Rolla II is my racing machine, however thats out of action as I'm redoing the wiring, suspension and turbo. Here are some pics of the two:

I'm trying to find some info on a pic I saw of an electric car, it was during that NZ race to the sky rally, it sorta looked like a le-man car and the caption was saying something about how it couldn't be classified as it was running a electric engine. Imaging the tuning possiblities of an electric engine, how you can tune your power curve for what rpm you want.... exciting stuff :rocknroll:

Nice cars guys :)

Yeh I'm confused by the skid marks too.... I guess Nick is on the right track but I can only see two skid marks and I can't make out where the cross ?? I think he came hot into the corner, tapped the brakes mid cornering, arse has started to come out, rather then acclerating he has panicked and jumped on the anchors.... tho... I would expect him lock it up and go off the left handside of the road... hmmm Anyhow... I hope the poor bloke is alright and has learnt his lession.... if you wanna race do it on a track and if you wanna drift get anything but a FWD.

Cycclone Magnetic Engines Download the vid and listen to the baby spin up, fark yeh!!! :) OR There is Air power! MDI - Air Car

What the.... looking at the photos.. what the hell did he do???? the skid marks confuse me as I can only see two that are close to each other. Hopefully that accident will scare him into driving sensible. P.S: Astra's are very nimble and can become unstuck very quickly, he could of learnt that on a skidpan day...

Gulf Stream Have a read of the above, ABC or SBS had a doco about Global Warming, the Gulf Stream, and the Artic. that was the biggest eye opener to me. All of the worlds Glaciers are melting at alarming rates, the artic is melting and hasn't re-frozen over like it should have for 3yrs now, ocean currents are being changed, more floods, more cyclones.... Europe has recently been in the news as having big chills and extreme low temps, Australia has had its hottest temps. Is the ice age coming? :D

Can I ask what has happened to the Corona? A friend has one and he may need some parts. Cheers.

wooooh hello old topic :D wish I had a GP :bash: There are so many treasures at the wreckers.... not the cars but the bits, you can find a nice treasure trove such as an interior or sun visors and dashes with no cracks, power option bits, nice carpets (stay away from blood stained ones :D) On the flip side, wreckers make me sad, so much negative energy, plus when you fill all your pockets, hands and bits and get to the counter and the guy wants some stupid figure...... thats when you put everything your holding back... and forget about your pockets haha :y: Anyhow.... enough from me.... **Tom goes and hides under his rock**

I've used BP premium, Optimax and Optimax extreme. However my fuel ecomony has different effects then stated above. I find that Optimax extreme is very smooth however it gets only a fraction more in k's the normal Optimax. BP Ultimate doesn't work well for me, I'm not sure if its just burnt quicker by me being to throttle happy. My car hasn't had a tune for a long time normally I am able to crack 700k's per tank using Optimax / Optimax extreme, using BP Ultimate, I get around 620ish. Once i put in normal unleaded .... and OMG never again! I drove far and wide to get that horrible crap out of my car. Anyhow, unlike some, I do care about the enviroment, and I do nearly about 1000k's a week so I'm using Optimax Extreme.

depends on what you consider a pro, when installing a turbo or working on car part which gets very hot, its a smart idea to have a look at what could be damaged. Also by the looks of it the turbo is mounted in a strange position, apparently a heat shield is the norm when upgrading turbos on GTi's

sweeeeeeeeet :D Hmmm add some coil overs, black top 4age with 6sp, AE101? front brakes, keep the rims, 2.5zorst, strip the interior 1 x bucket, 1 x 12000rpm rev gauge, fix up the rust and throw in a fire extingusher. DIY paint job and you've got ya self a track car :(
