True, KETURBO25, David A is walking treasure, he has had a good life. The saddest part of the Lyre bird video is the end, which is also the most amazing..

Sorry Trev, I voted but I'm tentative at the moment

That Lyre bird has the best rear wing ;)

I completely agree, I worked really hard to buy the phone and saved for half of the year in order to buy it, bring on Benito Mussolini laws I say!! :hmm:

I couldn't find that tracker thingy, surely there is a way to track a smartphone! Do any rollaclub members work in the telecom industry :P

Bonobo for me, chilled out and awesome background music, hardly any vocals and lots of beats... the other is Shanghai Orchestra lol

It was awesome, there is heaps of great ways to see the states without spending a lot of money. sure it helped me out that I didn't have to pay for 90% of my accommodation. but say if you roughed it sleeping in the car / B&B's etc's .... you could road trip all over the place, food & fuel are dirt cheap, you speak the language (although you have to repeat 90% of what you say due to the Australian accent). If you seriously want to do an awesome adventure - consider this:

I found America was great, my parents have moved over there so it's good to have some local knowledge. Everyone I meet from LA Customs to randoms in the street where all friendly and happy to help out if needs be. Driving on the side of the road was interesting at first, seriouslly.. as soon as I drove out of the driveway of the rental car yard in Las Vegas I drove out onto incoming traffic lol, after a HOLY SHIT moment I jumped onto the proper side and was fine. I picked it up really fast, most likely the situation of driving on a HWY for hundreds of miles helped! I flew into LA, jumped onto a plane to Las Vegas straight away, stayed in Vegas for 3 nights, Drove to Grand Canyon (I put grand canyon into GPS and followed the GPS, then it told me I arrived however I was in the middle of a quiet road... had to back track, do some light 4x4'ing and some adventuring and I finally found it) After checking out grand canyon, I drove to Sedona - a beautiful town - ( http://www.sedonaaz.gov/Sedonacms/index.aspx ) the plan was to check-in in the early afternoon and have a nice relaxing night, tho I rocked up at midnight completely stuffed after getting lost in the desert, what should have been a 2hr drive turned into a 6hr drive! At 4:30am I woke up and drove to Phoenix airport, only to learn that my plane was delayed to bad weather in Miami and the next flight would be leaving late afternoon, I put on my charm and scored a flight on Learjet to Knoxville, and from there went to my ma & pa's place and crashed for a week lol I did a lot of driving, road trips every where, I would recommend it 100%. My dream is to drive from the Artic Circle through Alaska, Canada, USA, Mexico, Central America and finish at Cape Horn, jump on a yacht and sail around the world... EDIT - Sorry about the rant... ! :P

Nice car, my old neighbour had a nice sedan valiant, they have a beautiful shape with lots of attention to detail, and that's what new cars lack now days. I fell in love with a black valiant sedan, lowered on big chromes, beautifully restored inside, and sounded like it had a nice v8. Would you consider dropping in a soarer v8 into it? :)

Here is a game everyone, how many Toyota's can you spot in total out of all the pics? I count 9 :)
-
From memory, I think it was about 80km/h, 50mph? The roads where a lot of fun to drive, it's the Smoky mountains, basically where NASCAR was born in the day of Moonshine Runners :) Moonshine runners hotted up their cars to outrun the cops, google it it's an entertaining read. I hardly saw any hotted up toyota's.

Thanks guys, what's wrong the Malibu? it was a nice car to drive

I recently took off to the USA, I thought you might like to check out some pics from my road trip. Ferrari 430 Note the dog on fuel tank :) Las Vegas cops Las Vegas __________ __________ I'm lost in the desert somewhere in Arizona :) Found it! This vet somehow drove there too... I was impressed considering the state of the roads, our Jeep was bottoming out, it must of been a very slow trip in! Funny story, we saw him on our way out of the Grand Canyon, and in the middle of no where he nailed it to over take us, and out popped a copper and pulled him over, bad luck Mr Vet. __________ Randoms cars I saw when I was out and about.. _______________________________ I rocked up to say hi to Mr Obama, but he wasn't in, I should of called before hand... _______________________________ Strange Toyota 4x4, Looks pretty cool. Check out the rear wheel archers, hydraulics? Part two, coming up..... mountain roads and awesome American muscle cars!

hehe, stupid taxi driver, that app should be for all phones, imagine how many dishonest people it could track down. Rather then being charged in court etc, there should be a $1000 on the spot fine for possession of stolen property. I'm going to see if I can find this app you talk of.

Maybe a select couple, it appears that it may have been handed in.... :) My hopes are high!!

Hey guys, Just a FYI, I learnt something today, I purchased for my wife a new Samsung HD Icon i8910 16gb with a micro SD 16gb card last xmas, it was jam packet with everything, photos, songs, personal data, etc etc, Today whilst coming to visit me, my wife sat down at the bus stop (A9/10) at 12:50pm in the Myer centre, put her docs down on top of the mobile, got up and walked around the corner. Realised she has just left her phone behind, turns around walks back and it's gone, though the guy sitting 3 seats up tells her he hasn't seen anyone and doesn't know what she is talking about, and suggests to check out lost/found. He quickly jumps on to bus and disappears towards Garden City. My wife comes to my work, tells me the story, I went back to suss out the area, people, centre management, security, no one can help. However I did note that there is a CCTV camera pointing to exactly where she was sitting. I called the phone, left a couple of messages asking for the finder to please return it to the closest police station or contact me on my number. Called it again and its switched off. I go back to work, lodge a lost/stolen property QP form but I learn that we need a IMEI number. Now, if you haven’t' done this, or know about it, do it right now if you care about your phone. The International Mobile Equipment Identity or IMEI (pronounced /aɪˈmiː/) is a number, usually unique,[1][2] to identify GSM, WCDMA, and iDEN mobile phones, as well as some satellite phones. It is usually found printed inside the battery compartment of the phone. It can also be displayed on the screen of the phone by entering *#06# into the keypad on most phones. The IMEI number is used by the GSM network to identify valid devices and therefore can be used for stopping a stolen phone from accessing the network in that country. For example, if a mobile phone is stolen, the owner can call his or her network provider and instruct them to "ban" the phone using its IMEI number. This renders the phone useless in that country, whether or not the phone's SIM is changed. However, the phone can be used abroad. Unlike the Electronic Serial Number or MEID of CDMA and other wireless networks, the IMEI is only used for identifying the device, and has no permanent or semi-permanent relation to the subscriber. Instead, the subscriber is identified by transmission of an IMSI number, which is stored on a SIM card that can (in theory) be transferred to any handset. However, many network and security features are enabled by knowing the current device being used by a subscriber. read more - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Mobile_Equipment_Identity Write down your IMEI number somewhere safe, I was lucky I kept the original box the phone came in and I found it on a sticker on the side of the box. The phone will be hopefully a nice shinny brick tomorrow. So, will the police ever find the phone? From my experience, Maybe ...if the person who stole it is arrested and taken into custody the police at the time of receipting the property on the person can run a IMEI search and find out that the phone is stolen and return it to its owner. Or hopefully the person does the right thing and drops in at police station as lost property. Where did all the honest people go?

Hey Guys - Just Touching Base
TOMsGPTurbo replied to TOMsGPTurbo's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Hey Trev, when's the dinner? or did I miss it? I put up a carport, that I found under the house (long story). I called BSA, they said I was sweet to chuck it up and all I need is to get it certified by a private certifier and hand the paper work to the council. I'll enclose it eventually, have a fence to put up before that so I can enclose the car port and use it lol -
Hey guys, I was thinking of the crew today when I saw an old school rolla, where are all the founding fathers of RollaClub :) I miss my GP, need to fix it when I get a garage, I put up a Car port which I could inclose, anyone know of a certifer / builder in Brisbane...
