  1. I'm glade you enjoyed it! Yep, needs some loving, see the left over black bits? they were soft pads used to dampen the spare and full of moisture...hence the rust.. I can't find any cassettes to play, so I might stick to CD player... 20yrs ! and in that time car audio has moved onto MP3's :P Also, I think we have a competition, I'll take a pic of the wiring I've gotten myself into... I'm tempted to swap the whole dashboard over !! and buy the time I'm finished you'll most likely have rego lol Trev... their multiplying!! yes my first parts car...
  2. This is for you Carbonboy, I know only you will enjoy this picture! : Think I might be going crazy with my old age, I'm thinking of putting this back into the car.. Had a visit today from 20v4agteEL31 who brought me a pressie: Yes Xmas has come early at my house  ... well I sorta knew it was coming and in my excitement I couldn't sleep  lol only had 3hrs sleep ..... in my tired and way to excited state I started to take the stuff I need to get Maxi going and began with the engine loom... 2hrs later I walked past maxi and saw one sitting in a box :bash:... . I moved onto the interior and took off the wheel (the boss kit wasn't even finger tight!!!) indicator stalk and other bits that I need... the restoration has official begun!

  5. No problems, PM Sent (sorry for late reply, I had a crazy weekend) The turbo wasn't that smokey :rolls: most likely tyre smoke you remember  For sure irokin, he will be coming along next year to the the track day to race that dirty nissan! :P Do you mean this Yatala Pies cruise! :y:
  6. Hi Onikage, OK, lets start with the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) here is an abstract from "A guide to the Japanese Export Market": A Japanese vehicle must be re-registered after the first three years of purchase, then every two years after that. The cost of re-registration is approx. US$1,500. To most Japanese, this cost is a waste when the vehicle is 7 or 9 years old, so a new vehicle is preferred over registration as a result. Since it is difficult to re-sell a 7 or 9 year old vehicle in Japan. I haven't been able to find any concrete evidence, but it is rumoured that only 6000 GP Turbo's were produced from 1987 to 1990 only for Japan, the cars that weren't crushed were exported, that number is any ones guess. You basically have two types of GP Turbo's one is the Corsa and the other Corolla II - differences are front and rear bars. (anyone, feel free to add more differences) The GP Turbo ran a 1.5ltr, SOHC, 12valve, 4cyl Turbo known as a 3ETE, drive was to the front wheels and driveline saw both Auto and 5sp manual. Because I'm energy efficient I found the following info for you: http://blog.retro-classics.co.nz/?p=248
  7. With a bit of love, she shines right back up
  8. I totally agree, performance is where it's at, I don't know what you're talking about, it doesn't look that bad
  9. holy crap that's maddness Ben!! shot gun a ride on a track day! I was reading your mods and thinking they were future mods or dream mods, that's one hell of a car

  12. My wife bought me a one of those online coupons to get the car washed (interior cleaned, outside washed and waxed)..... have a guess what I'm thinking lol :laff:
  13. holy crap! :blinks: I'm speachless If there was a prize for coolest DIY threads you'll take it I love sailing, nearly ended up on Nicorette a couple of years ago when she was coming down for Sydney to Hobart! But she was running late and I missed out :sob: I'm in the process of making a R/C Yacht but I don't even feel right mentioning it after seeing this thread lol :laff: Here is a pic of something you might like, I saw her a couple of weeks ago on Hamilton Island (that's my dream boat!).
  14. Thanks blzbub666 :y: I found a similar process but nowhere near as detailed as that, thanks heaps! LOL cabonboy, I started this race in 2003!!! I reckoning its between me and you for sure, 20v4agteEL31 has it in the bag! WOW :o 20v4agteEL31 DEAL!! you're a champion!!! 15. Wow looking good! I don't think Toyota themselves gave the AE82 this much attention when they were building it
  16. I'm thinking when we are both finished we should do a hinterland drive and bbq
  17. I think I need to make up some kind of mould cleaner myself, had a look at the local shopping center for something and couldn't find anything that wouldn't damage / bleach the fabric.
  18. Goodies I found in the back which I forgot about it! I think the strut & springs are for a Eunos 500, I wonder what they would be good for? Pics feature - Monkey (made by Nick from Shamrock Stickers) I'm happy the rust hasn't advanced to much, no idea how I'm going to get rid of it in there tho???? any ideas? Brakes / Calipers / drive shafts and stuff boxes full of misc parts .... I'm over the moon with finding the clutch, when I had the engine transplant originally done I paid for a heavy duty name brand clutch to be put in, it never happend, the current one griped like ice on ice :glare: There is so much work ahead of me!
  19. This thread needs some more Corolla II's  This one looked abandoned, 2nd photo its missing a gaurd and window smashed, I hope these count.
  20. Here is a pic of my Rolla's interior, first time opening the door in 3yrs P.S: My steering wheel and dash were blue not white !!!
  21. lol, there are more then two getting about..... well besides our two which arn't at the moment :lolcry:
  22. Also, I can't move the car as all the tyres have gone flat and the rubber has moulded it self into having flat spots... that's Pirelli rubber :rolls:
  23. So I have been inspired lately to get Maxi going again after sitting outside and under the house for 3 years undisturbed by humans.... OMG :o More pics to come... I inhaled a lot of mold, I ran away and left the door and boot open, I'm feeling pretty woozy, not sure if its the mold, the shock, or a combination of the two. A lot of mouse crap is all over the floor and seats, and as you can see mold is all over the interior. On the Plus side, I found out I am the owner of EP82 front discs, drive shafts, gearbox, clutch, and various over stuff, looks like its in ok condition, hopefully enough to get get the car going again.
  24. That's really interesting, I thought you had the only 4AGTE one, hmmm I wonder if that one is even turboed? I havent' seen any info on it at all..... Wow that's Awesome, I definitelty have room for it, if you need a hand in getting yours going let me know, when your done with it I'm keen to worksomething out! I think it has everything mines needs to get back up and working again! Rollaclub will have two working GP Turbo's!
