  1. haha thats nuts, looks like awesome fun, your traffic laws must be a little relaxed compared to ours hehe :bash: Please correct me if I'm wrong, Finland?
  2. hehe, I actually had a look around but couldn't find a post on it, .. oh well, cool movie I can't wait to get a copy :bash: Clarkson is intitled to his opinion, I respect the man for speaking his mind, doesn't mean I always like what he has to say....
  3. I saw one of those ISF's in Niagara Falls last week, sounded and looked very cool even stock form, that one in the vid is insane, would love to see a high speed footage.
  4. Hey guys, I saw the movie on a plane coming back from LA yesterday, good flick! My advise is make your partners watch it so they understand our passion for our cars. The movie is about Eric's first car and how he has owned it and how its progressed through time with him, his mates and family. Eric and his mates race it in Targa Tas in 1996 and decide to re-enter something like 10yrs later; they rebuild the beast (Ford XB Coupe) and do the Targa Tas again. For all the people who still own your first car (Like me) you'll love it, personally the movie tells ones connection to their beast very well, and also touches on things like being in the zone. Guest stars include: Jermey Clarkson, Jay Leno and Doctor Phill. On another note, just came back from a 5 week holiday in the states, loved every second of it. I was completely fine until I got on a plane at Dallas to LA and developed a cold, now I'm feeling flu like symptons, I think I might have the damn swine flu.... or a cold.. same thing. Anyhow, Go see the movie when it comes out I give it a 9/10 http://www.lovethebeast.com.au/
  5. Heya Matty, WOOOW your a puppa? congrats!!!! Are you getting any sleep? .... I hear its real hard, though I can't wait till I'm a dad, well I can.. but I can't if you know what I mean. 7. hehe hey guys :y: I think the last time we saw each other was at Yatala pies ... hehe about 8yrs ago Yep the little GP is under the house collecting dust and eatting spiders. Since that darn ecu broke, I never had the money to fix it. My Astra's ecu just broke the other week, and coil pack... what is it with me and car ecu's! wow you guys have some nice cars! (reading your sig's) nicely moded and no doubt little rockets. I see couple of nice rollas in the city from time to time, the old school ones ... not to many new ones. I'm off to bed, night guys (i'm getting old now!) P.S Its good to be back!
  8. It's good to be back.... I sorta never left but just lurked and drifted around... Wow the site has changed and evolved over 6yrs! and SOOO MANY new faces!
  9. Hey guys... What's new??? Are the old school members still lurking in the shadows :) :(
  10. I believe that's the whole idea, and a great idea! As long as its not abused and we aren't targeted when we have cruises then its all good. What got me thinking, just say you go for a club drive and some newbie wanker decides to come along and starts pulling skids all over the place when a cop car goes past,..... its going to be at the disgression of the police officer on what happens next, how do we defend ourselves? It was mentioned that people who witness random events of hooning won't be charged (thanks) but to me this is going to cause a lot of grey areas mainly from our side. I'm definitely anti-hooning and believe there is a time and place = both on a track, but the hoons out there are making it worse for the rest of us. Drive safe Tom,
  11. There is a proposed law that's going to be in place targeting spectators at hoon events, ie illegal drag racers, or burnouts etc. Fines and demerit points. Thought this might be of interest. Drive safe
  12. I wonder when Toyota is going to bring out a AWD Rolla with Turbo power for our domestic market??? :P
  13. Just wanted to say in my arnie voice ... "hello girly man" :P Haven't been around in yonks hope all is well  P.S: I burnt by darn garlic bread writing this post!!!!
  14. Here are my three randoms
  15. Gav I completely agree with your point of view and I can even give an example using my car and situation, a FWD toyota corolla ii gp turbo, I paid for an engine conversion, as well as many other things and I estimate the engine conversion costs would be approx 4000.00 total, now that money put into modifying the bigger orginal engine (1.5ltr 3ETE) would first of all ensure the car would still be on the to this day, and have more perfomance then a starlet GT who's engine I used for the conversion (1.3ltr 4EFTE). I'm not very mechanicaly minded so I'm slowly learning as I go, I'm never going to trust anyone touching my cars again, I was really burnt by my last experiance with the engine conversion so I envy all of you who work on your own cars. P.S: I'm in love with that blue race car ... damn that's fine! from what I can see the driver sits in the middle of the car!??!?! seriously cool!
  16. lol no, haha.. these badges are from a family friend who works at a paint & panel shop :y: The datsun one is the hardest one to find :lolcry: Guess what I found in my photo collection this morning, a TD2000 competing at Mount Cotton Hill Climb.
  17. Hey guys and girls, I was cleaning out my garage and came accross some old badges I had collected when I was little. The MG TD 2000 badge is excellent condition and its off a beautiful sports car: MG TD 2000 club The other badges I can't find any info on at it, I'm curious what models their off, does anyone know???? **EDIT: In April of 1968, World Champion Driver Jim Clark was killed at Hockenheim, Germany, while driving a Lotus Type 48 in a Formula 2 race. From that day foreward, all LOTUS cars have worn a black nose badge, out of respect for his passing. - Notice my badge is green & yellow - so its the classic green & yellow badge 1963-1968 & 1970-1974 http://www.mikecauser.com/lotus/parts/classic-gy.html
  18. I had quick look, all is fine on the suspension front :P Thanks for the help
  19. I'll suss it out today, suspension was never really the same after skidpan day hehe :hammer:
  20. hey guys, When I make a left hand turn and put pressure on the right handside of the car my shockies on the left make sounds?? like a quick bang sound.... this doesn't sound to good. The car seems to handle ok, as I don't really push it around town.... how can I tell if its blown? :hammer:
  21. more people buy GP Turbo's so I can chat to you about them....
  22. I calmed down after a gun was pulled me on me... I was negotiating a roundabout when a guy in a camry nearly side-swiped me, I sped up to have a look at him and he pulls out a hand gun and starts waving it around and pointing it at me... At this stage I was 99% of thinking I'm going to ram him off the road into a pole get my knife out (I was coming back from fishing) and kill him. He hit the freeway and so did I, I got his rego, and went home called the cops. I'm no angel, it took me a while to learn how to control myself to stop road raging. I use to make my passengers cry because they thought someone is going to die. Who gives a crap who is right and who is wrong, lets not loose any rollaclub members due to silly fights on the road. Next time your in a situation: 1, THINK 2, Do not react to them 3, BREATH, deep long breaths 4, Tell yourself to let it go... If they try to things to you.... get off the road ASAP and away from them. Remember, if you are in the wrong, APOLOGISE!* you acknowledging you were in the wrong makes the other driver feel better. (*Don't ever admit you were in the wrong in a car accident tho, that's going to cause problems for your claim)
  23. Is it really worth it? When things like that happen to me I just breath and let it go... if they don't wanna let it go I drive the other way... there is no point in loosing your nerve and killing someone due to their bad driving habbits.
  24. Find your wittnesses, see your lawyer and sue ... There is no exuse what so ever to hit someone ..nor is there one to drive off. Imagine if he did that tomorrow to a pregent lady.. an impact like that could potential kill a baby. No exuses he should not be on the road.
